Mods, this was an april fool's prank,
please delete it and my "Bugs Bunny Meets The Supremes"post
You may know that Bill Melendez did commercials for Ford starring the Peanuts gang and did plenty of Charlie Brown specials officially beginning with "A Charlie Brown Christmas".
You also know that the comic strip debuted in October 2, 1950.
Some will know about the Saturday Evening Post cartoon.
But did you know at age 14 he did a comic strip called "Schulz and Spike" that was sent to the same syndicate, United Feature(s) Syndicate?
It was adapted in an MGM Harman-Ising cartoon directed by Ub Iwerks and Friz Freleng, called "Schulz and Sniffy" (the re-issue title to avoid confusion with 's Spike). It featured the gang a lot like the Peanuts wearing the same clothes but with more of that 30's Technicolor cartoon feel..
Well, here's the cartoon, finally found from a 35mm nitrate
