    The Pokemon are coming

Sadly as Jeff mentioned it will probably get Boomerang into more homes. But at what cost? Seriosuly, just name it CN2 already this is going too far.

But if they're going to be showing any anime at all (obviously they are) then unless FUNimation's holding out for CN to drop the license I really think DBZ in it's entirely (along with Dragonball) would be a great addition to Boomerang. It's certainly old enough to be considered "classic".

They could make an afternoon action block (probably without a name)

    03:00 - Pokemon
    03:30 - Dragonball
    04:00 - Dragonball Z
04:30 - Samurai Jack (you know it's coming)

Here's something I've been wondering though. Turner has the license so why isn't Thundercats on Boomerang? Has it ever even aired there?

If I had to take a guess on which shows will be on Boomerang by the end of the year I'd say most of the older set of CN originals will be there. And I wouldn't put it past them to also be showing JLU and Megas XLR (more likely just JLU as it's an extention of Justice League which already airs on Boomerang).

Even though this is a sad day for classic lovers.. my self included... I also like Pokemon. I am glad that somewhere the first few (and I'd say the best) seasons are getting aired again somewhere (even at the cost of Boomerang).

It's just a matter of time before that classic fell is completely gone. I mean US Boomerang will more than likely take the form (as in design) of the internation Boomerang's.

While its sad for Boomerang, its great for Pokemon!

I'm not going to speculate on schedules yet, since we don't know what else is coming/leaving yet, and no clue to anything other than this. I'd say a good change of it airing between 10-11pm. They like airing action in the late hours. That time wouldn't really bother me. Though this is about 300 episodes (S1-S5) and I'd hope it would air for an hour (or at least two different episode broadcasts) to speed the processes up a little.

See, this is something I really don't get. Pokemon has over 400 episodes. Dragonball has nearly 400 episodes from the start to GT. I'd really think on a network like CN, by having making a big deal on 'Start to Finish' episodes, that it could do good. Kids WB did it to Pokemon, from Kanto to Johto one time, but then we never saw the Kanto episodes again..or at least rarely. CN could just air it in one timeslot, and you'd never see that episode for at least a year. It would keep me, the viewer, wanting to see Pokemon every night at...9pm, knowing that it's an episode I haven't seen for a long time, and not just the same replay of the season we've seen over and over again.

    04:00 - Thundercats
04:30 - Voltron (boy would I ever love if they could get it)
    05:00 - Dragonball Z

I completely agree. Adult Swim should also do the same with Inuyasha on a weekday slot. However, consider the viewer who didn't tune in for the begining, they'll be sad to find out they may never see the begining. That's probably why CN shows series in batches. But you know what? I think they should try it anyway. Pokemon and Dragonball from start to finish. It make for a sure fire weekday evening attraction.

Normally, I'd love to have Season 1 airing almost anywhere. But not only do I not get Boomerang, but Pokémon USA, with 4Kids out of the way, is finally starting to make some boxsets for this fall.

While it does suck for Boomerang being about classic cartoons, this is great for Pokémon USA. Taking the license away from 4Kids, having Jakks Pacific master toy licensor, getting the show onto CN, finally releasing boxsets. I wish PUSA did this years ago instead of waiting for Nintendo to do it first.

Yes. Add TTA, Beyond, and Zeta to that, and it'll be GREAT.

(I'd say add the first season of Pokemon, but I'd be murdered for saying that.)
Wow... I can't believe I was right. I FREAKIN' PREDICTED IT!!!

Now we just need Dragon Ball, and the titans of kids anime will be back again...

The only reason DBZ wouldn't join is if FUNimation is holding out for their own network. As their current schedule is pretty bad despite having several good shows. They really would do well to have DB, DBZ, DBGT and YYH back in their staple.

    Maybe something like...

    Everyday

    10:00PM Pokemon
    10:30PM Dragonball Z
    11:00PM Justice League Unlimited
    11:30PM Batman: The Animated Series
    12:00AM Superman: The Animated Series
    12:30AM Justice League
    1:00AM Pokemon
    1:30AM Dragonball

But again, I want to know more before I start dishin' out those "dream schedules".

Actually, I was worried you guys would end up murdering ME.

But, since it's official, I won't be killed on sight.

But, I personally feel that Boomerang is a channel for shows that are over 10 years old (and some unwelcome exceptions), and this show just reached that point.

While I agree that Pokemon is technically at my personal "10 years or older" Boomerang-airing-qualification cutoff point (the first season of it debuted in 1996, yes?), from a personal opinion, I have one word: *gag*. :-(

As if seeing Looney Tunes vanish from the airwaves wasn't bad enough...

DB and YYH probably will go back to FUNimation and join their block/channel. DBZ and DBGT? I don't think so. The show still brings in ratings for the network and the show will last on CN forever.

So there will be more CN programming on Boomerang than CN.

If Boomerang wanted to air older anime shows, then why not air the ADV dub of Gatchaman or Mobile Suit Gundam? ADV is supposed to be dubbing Macross, and that would fit on Boomerang.

This isn't about Boomerang airing older anime shows. This is about CN pimping Pokémon as much as possible (they're probably celebrating that they don't have to listen to Kids' WB!'s complaining anymore).

    Sounds about right.

But honestly I'd love for Dragonball and DBZ to air on Boomerang and they more than fit the "classic" neccessity. I can live with Pokemon on Boomerang but I dunno it just seems a little bit too early for at least 3 of those seasons.

Johto? Yeah, but those are probably included since they were still cel animated.
