I've also noticed the phones are dead, the Internet's deactivated, the cellphones have no range, the local vehicles and helicopter are out of fuel, and there's no human contact within a 50-mile wide radius.

Clearly, the owner of this mansion doesn't know how to keep up on his utilities, otherwise I'd think someone was trying to keep us isolated from the outside world.
