The Amazing Race: Toon Zone NOTICE (ALL READ)

    Like This Thread!
Over the past day, it's been brought to my attention that the time at which I post my checkpoints and challenges - currently at 4pm PST - is not working for a number of the teams. Despite giving everyone notice well in advance, I suppose it's tough to accomodate huge time zone differences and busy schedules and such.

    SO...

What I'd like to do is put this question to you guys. When is the best time, in general, for these questions to be posted? I don't want someone to be eliminated from the race unfairly, simply because they're fast asleep late at night, or busy at school or work or something.

Unlike SURVIVOR or the other Reality Games we've held here, time is especially of the essence in this game. Therefore, everyone needs to get a fair shot at continuing here; the only thing that should keep you from proceding, ideally, is not being able to answer the clues the fastest. Everyone should be able to at least access them as early as everyone else.

As I've said in earlier posts, I'm going to accomodate people who are taking vacations (and won't have net access) for extended periods, I'd also like to do the best I can to give everyone a fair shot here.

Of course, this still has to fit MY schedule as well. So...

    MONDAYS
Personally, the 4pm PST time worked best for me. I could've pushed it later, but I felt it'd be even more inconvenient to everyone. The only other time I could do it on Monday would be at 7am PST. If that works for everyone, that's fine with me. (I work from 7:30am-3:30pm every week day, and I have no access to my home PC, so I can't post anything between those times.)

    SATURDAYS/SUNDAYS
If everyone feels that sometime over the weekend is better, (either Saturday or Sunday), I'm all ears. I can handle any time on that day, as long as I get a general consensus from everyone. I will not bend over backwards here to accomodate schedules for the likes of going out with friends and whatnot - but if you can easily forsee in the future that you'll have school classes, work schedules, family vacations, or simple time zone differences - then I'm more than willing to adjust.

Again, I am doing this in the best interest of all the players here; it's no fun for me to eliminate anyone from the game, especially when it's simply due to poor timing on my part - especially if there is a much better alternative for all people involved.

This sort of thing has to be fixed immediately if at all possible, before any teams are eliminated due to a faulty error on my part. So, please, if anyone with specific periods of time when they can (or can NOT) access these checkpoint questions immediately, please post them here.

    For me and LightShadow...

We're out Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, and we come home late at night...of course until the school year starts, which 4 PM PST is 7 PM EST...and we're not in our house at the time.

Also I'm out all day Sundays until night time, and I don't know about Saturdays too.

If I post the questions early in the mornings (7am PST), I've no problem - but I wouldn't be able to check any of the answers until 9 hours later, because I'm at work all that time. That's the only problem that could arise; of course, if everyone is confident with their answers when they first send them off, there shouldn't be a problem.

Morning and afternoon sucks for me. I'll never be able to make it. Doesn't anyone besides me have work?

Actually, it looks like my schedule is the exact opposite of Mr. Cat Dog's, so we might be at an impasse...

I'm going to do the best I can to accomodate everyone here - but remember, we have team mates for a reason. If they can pick up your slack, then we can avoid problems.

But if you make it at a time when one person can never submit answers, then you have effectively shut that person out of the game, even if their teammate does just fine....

The time you are proposing is also my group meeting time. Isn't there any other time?

Is that "group meeting time" every day of the week, Aurora, or just one specific day?

Why don't you try alternating times or something? Like have one week 4pm PST, and the next 7am PST or whatever? It's not perfect, but at least it means that everyone can chip in for some of the time.

Oh, and early in the morning is fine for me, because that's like 3pm which is fine

Early mornings to you TimTwoFace is fine for us...since it's 10 AM EST for us. Well, except during the school year, when we don't really go out anymore. Sundays and Saturdays are fine for me.

Absolutely not. I don't get up that early usually.

This would be extra work for you, so I hesitate to suggest it, but maybe you could PM the questions to the teams at two different times? Then, of course, you would take their place in the race based on the time when they got the PM vs. the time when they solved the clues.

7 am PST on mondays works well for me! It's 10 am where I am,and I usually get up at 9,and I'm on my computer at about 9:40 am. Note: weekends don't work well for me,keep the challenges on Mondays if possible...

I'm at work at that time, so I wouldn't be able to post them at 10am PST. Every weekday, there's going to be a dead zone from 7:30am-3:30pm PST where I can't regularly access a computer. Because my workplace and duties are all over the map, I can't promise anything.

Besides, Monday is already a bad day for some.

Hmmm...Tuesday at 9am PST? I MIGHT be able to wing it, but only if that works for EVERYONE.

(Personally, if we can do it sometime on a weekend, that'd be the best for everyone. Does anyone have anything against sometime mid-morning (PST) on either Saturday or Sunday?)

    -Tim

PS - Aurora, ideally I'd be sending the questions out in the fashion in which you suggested; however, that would only work if I dedicated my entire life to this game, as they do in the actual show. As much as I'd like to, I can't spend 24 hours a day on here to make that work, especially when I get all of my answers with such large gaps of time in between.

Weekends probably takes me out of the game, but I realize I'm the only one, so if you must, you must.
