The Amazing Race: Toon Zone - queries thread

Hey all,

Ever since the first SURVIVOR ended here at Toon Zone, I've been humming and hawing over bringing an "Amazing Race" game to the new and improved F&G board. Well, it's here. Almost.

What I need to know is...

A) How many people are willing to play.
B) And thus, how many challenges I should prepare.

Needless to say, this, like Survivor, may very well become a fun but time-consuming adventure, so if you don't have a lot of time, it's probably not best to sign up. I'm hoping for at least 24 participants - if there are more, that would be great, too. 24 would still be ideal for me and my prospective plans.

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL SIGN-UP SHEET. I just needed to know how many people out there are, prospectively, interested in playing this game - especially when SURVIVOR 2 and the RPGs are already going to be in full gear.

I'm aiming for this game to be starting in late June and/or early July.

Still not sure if I'll be able to play, but as I told you yesterday I can help you with some of the challenges.

I'd be slightly interested. I didn't want to compete in Survivor, because it was a bit too soon after the Mole. But this I might go for.

I think it may be too soon to tell yet. People may still be a bit confused by how exactly this is gonna be pulled off... confused by how exactly the game is gonna be played.

I know when we first started Survivor last year, people were hesitent because there were still a lot of questions surrounding the game... but it all turned out well, and I'd say was probably one of the most successful events of the year

As long as you stay as close to the AR rules unlikes a certain somebody ^^^ and the Mole. Well sorta

Anyways, it'd be cool if this thing was over several forums with permissions of the mods. It'd be cool. Anyways, I'd be in.

I agree, it is too soon to tell.

I also don't really think of the titles of these games as anything more than a name. Like sir Colin said, he never even saw the Mole -- and that's fine, 'cause there was still traces of Mole in it (like the fact that there was a hidden Mole, obviously). Maybe this game will have traces of Amazing Race in it, or maybe not... Maybe it'll be who looks best in drag! Ooh, that gives me an idea of a game for the male moderators.... *goes to chart out the game*

*comes back realizing she didn't finish talking* Either way it'll be fun and that is the point of this, no? =)

Well, this game would generally stick close to the premise of the Amazing Race; I would provide clues for locations around the world I would expect you to go. It would all be done in sequence, with a few select locations every "leg" - or every week. Research is key, as the clues and puzzles would vary from week to week.

I've already planned out the first few legs, and they're going to be slowly growing in difficulty. It'll be fun, trust me - and you get to learn a lot about the world in which we live, not to mention some other worlds we do not.

Are we going to be working in pairs or are we racing individually?

When everyone signs up, it's best to have a partner you can work with and/or trust. If you sign up and don't have a partner, I would try to match you up with someone else that has signed up solo.

So, yes...pairs, ideally.
