Your Ideal "Bloom County" Voice Cast

    Like This Thread!
Okay, so let's say that the Opus movie finally gets off the ground and they decide to do it in full animation (two big stretches, I know). Who would you say is ideal for the voice acting talent for such a production?

    My picks:
    Michael Bell - Opus (obviously)
Frank Welker - Bill the Cat, W.A. Thornhump, Rosebud the Basselope
Hank Azaria - Steve Dallas, Hodge-Podge, Mr. Binkley
Pamela Hayden - Milo Bloom, Oliver Wendell Jones
Tress MacNeille - Michael Binkley, Bobbi Harlow
Dan Castellaneta - Cutter John, Giant Purple Snorklewacker
    Maurice LaMarche - Portnoy
John DiMaggio - Milquetoast the Cockroach
Tara Strong - Yaz Pistachio, Ronald-Ann Smith

You're absolutely right, J.B. -- Opus should sound like Michael Bell.

Actually, I agree with most on your list. Welker would likely be a better Bill than Byner was originally, and LaMarche could easily give Portnoy the correct personality.

    Here are my picks:

    Norm MacDonald - Snorklewacker
    Victoria Jackson - Quiche Lorraine
    Betty White - Mrs. Dallas
    Grey DeLisle - Yaz Pistachio
Billy West - Otis Oracle, Banana Jr. 6000

I still can't place Limekiller or Lola Granola, however.

Actually, i always thought rosebud would sound more like big dog from 2 stupid dogs, so i'd have brad garrett (who played big dog) be rosebud. And is it wrong that i somehow see yeardley smith playing alf mushpie? And we still need someone to play grandpa and grandma bloom, reynelda, senator bedfellow, rabies, blondie, the bear, and the bloom picauyne/beacon boss.
(if we're going to have yaz pistachio, we might as well have some more obscure characters). Also, "I'm a boinger" and "u stink but i love you" NEED to be on the soundtrack (not cover versions, but the actual flexi-disc versions from 1987)

Everyone's forgetting Rosebud is a woman, or at least has been since 1988.

Yeah, but I always envisioned her as having a male voice anyway. It adds to the humor, I think.

BTW,,Banana Jr. 6000 doesnt really "talk". In the few strips where he's seen facing frontwards, his "dialogue" is in the form of words printed on the screen.
