"Bloom County" Half of '82 - Discrepancies Revealed! (56Kers beware)
Peter mentioned in his Half of '82 "Bloom County" deleted material feature that he didn't have "Loose Tails", so he couldn't determine which comics were omitted or changed. Well, I just bought the book off Amazon.com, so I've decided to report my findings...

PART 1: DELETED STRIPS

To save space, I'll just say that everything from the week of September 20th was removed - the entire Prince William story, plus the following Sunday ("Good heavens, it's an ear.").

I can't tell if this one was cut or just redrawn, because there's a comic in the book with similar art and different dialogue that doesn't appear in Peter's article (it could be that missing Saturday, November 27 strip).

The entire storyline involving Steve Dallas, Bobbi Harlow, and Cutter John receiving Christmas visits from their respective parents is gone.

PART 2: EDITED STRIPS

In the second panel, Milo's line is changed to "Remember, Binkley? Remember when we used to crawl around on all fours...? And babble nonsensical words and throw our food at the walls and pour Malt-O-Meal on the cat? Remember?" His line in the fourth panel is changed to "Ah...to be young and foolish again..."

Last panel altered to the following:
OPUS: Well?
HODGE PODGE: The captain...has a tomato.
CUTTER JOHN: Clear the bridge, please.

In the last panel, "lips, legs, and knees" is changed to "boobs, butt, and knees".

Added to the last panel is an old woman in curlers and a bathrobe standing in the doorway shouting "BLAST 'IM, ED!!"

Last panel altered to the following:
BINKLEY'S DAD: "Chocolate?"
BINKLEY: Fudge. Whatever.

In the fourth panel, "a 'CHiPs' cap gun" is changed to simply "a cap gun". Opus' line in the last panel is changed to just "Lord, so are we," and the artwork is changed to remove his arm pointing at the kid.
