Talkback: Invader ZIM - "The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever" (SPOILERS!)

I figure this will only air once, so a reminder is in order. The press release said the episode will air at 8:30 PM EST but TVGuide.com says 8:00 PM EST. If you'll be out, record the entire hour just to be safe.

Hopefully a mod can turn this into a talkback thread after the episode airs. I'll post a poll right now to make that easier.

Not as cool as the halloween special, but definately hilarious. Too bad we didn't get to find out what actually happened to Zim and Dib in the future, but then again, perhaps that's a good thing... pity the subplot with Tak's ship will never be resolved (they were going to have episodes with Dib exploring other planets) but at least we got to see MINIMOOSE! I loved the Joke with Zim saying he was there all along...Minimoose was to be introduced in one of the unproduced episodes.

Also, is it just me, or did a woman during the santa robot fight shout "Rip em up good, Johnny?" A reference to Johnny The Homocidal Maniac, maybe??? Nick had told them early on that they would cancel the show if they put "Nny" anywhere in it, but I guess it was too late for that now

To clear things up 100% for some of you who aren't into Zim enough to know this: The christmas episode is the last one ever produced, but several older episodes still have yet to air.

Although This Wasn't The Single Best Episode Of ZIM, It's Horribly Close. I Apreciated This Episode Because Of The Abundant Amount Of Christmas Special Parodies There Was. Frosty The Robot Snowman Was Great, And My Favorite Of The Christmas Jokes Was The Scene When ZIM Did A Christmas Carol As Santa. (The Whole "Follow Along On Screen" Thing With The Letters Was TOO Much) If That Wasn't A Di$ney Rip, Then What IS? And Minimoose... Oh, Boy, Let's Just Say He Should Have Gotten To Be In More Episodes. The Insanity Was Great, The Cameos ( Including 45 At The End ) Were Fun, And It Was Clearly A Labor Of Love (If Jhonen DOES Show Love In His Creations, Hehe) From Beginning To End. While It Wasn't Anything Significant Or A Classic For The Centuries, What It Ended Up Being... Was One Hell Of A Joyride. Goodbye, ZIM, The Last Sign Of True Cult Television On Nick Was Indeed A Great One. (Unless Skeleton Key Is Done Right, But It Won't Really Be Much Of A Cult Anyway)

"Or be crushed, be crushed by his jolly boots of doom!" Hot DAMN, I loved this episode!! Minimoose is the cutest thing ever (next to GIR). The scene with GIR driving the store Santa over the edge was hilarious. The Santa suit itself was just awesome, especially when it went Giant Monster mode (sentai anyone?) and took on Dib's mecha. Membrane and his serious issues about Santa (millions of socks? Ouch.) And the sheer stupidity of the crowd were good for laughs. The snowman robot was pretty good, especially at the end. "Raise the shields, children!" And the Giant Monster Santa suit being appeased by huge offrings of milk and cookies was the final icing on the cake!


I want plushies of Minimoose (that you can dress up in the wreath and ornament nose! ^^) and the doll-sized monster Santa suit! ^________^

And myfavorite line goes to Dib. "Well, you can't beat me up if you don't rescue me!"

That episode was great. I just have a couple of comments...

- How did they get away with the thinly-valed references to Jesus? ("No one has ever seen Santa, but we all know one day he will return".)

- The final battle between the giant blob Santa and Dib in the mech just screamed Evangelion.

- Minimoose was cool.

- How did they get away with some of that dialog? ("I wanna dance - naked!")

- One final thing: Merry platypus everyone.

I knew the episode was going to be a hoot as soon as I saw Zim try to get money off Gir eating snow. After that, all bets were off.

I'm not good with the star ratings, but I'd have to say it was really good. Watched it and taped it, so that I may watch it again next year. Nick has a tendency to not show re-runs of the shows not currently running.
