Wow. I vote for another crappy rugrats-like movie.
Geez, watch Nick for a few hours and I get 2 movie promos. First is the Scooby-Doo promo (already posted a thread) and now its one for the Hey Arnold movie.
There's nothing noteworthy about the promo. It just has Arnold, Gerald and Helga with movie animation, doing a few moves on screen and that's it. This was an average promo.
But what do you all think of there being a Hey Arnold movie? Do you feel it would become like the second Rugrats movie, or maybe be an actual hit?
Oh and the movie comes out Friday June 28th...a week before the Powerpuff Girls movie premiere. At least it has time to marinate before being possibly blown away...

I can't wait for the "Hey Arnold!" movie, though I am very much against the prospect of Helga being in love with Arnold, let alone her confessing her crush on (obsession with) him; the reasons behind this are delineated in the thread "If it wasn't for that guy/gal...". And please, don't compare it to the "Rugrats" movies; we should convince people to see it, not avoid it.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

I think Scooby-Doo is knida over-rated and all of the HB Dogs should be praised.
Wouldn't it be great if their could be more Peanuts specials on DVD?

YEA! I watched an episode of Sesame Street a long time ago when Hey Arnold first began on Nick. I was shocked to see a claymation Arnold in some space ship gliding through space. Arnold was one of those characters that daydreams alot, and alot of the earlier episodes of HA! play on this fact too.

I don't know about Arnold's movie. I mean, when the show first came out, it was pretty funny and all. (I still love that one with the "fight" between Arnold and Harold) But the later seasons just got a tad predictable and stale as it was always a morality lesson or a "let's see who we can make a winner this time" kind of show. Maybe I will see it, maybe not, it all depends on how I feel when it comes out.

"Hey Arnold" is a decent Nick Show <-- I'll put it in top 5 or 10 of future Nick shows...
The movie will be successful..
Hopefully it won't be as stupid as Rugrats...
It's going to be a very good summer in the movie's aspect....
Um, yeah, that was in the theatrical trailer, so it's not much of a spoiler. BTW, I love your avatar.
P.S. This is my 800th post!

Yeah, it wasn't until I saw the Sesame Street Episode that I went.. that's Arnold !!
My favorite episode is that episode with The Harold and Arnold fight where he wins by playing the tape about being crazy, that one cracks me up.
My other fave is where the kids all go nuts because Arnold won't solve there problems any more. It's the kind of show that I'll watch if everything else sucks and instead of it just being a filler it's actually entertaining.

The movie should be good, and I can't wait until it comes out, but it's techincally not a "theatrical film". This movie was actually made to be a "Nick Flick", but plans changed when the big brass at MTV Networks saw the box office tally for "Recess: School's Out". This is important for two resons:
One: It would fill a two hour chunk of time.
Two (And more important): This movie could then be broken up into three episodes, thus fulfilling their 65 episode commitment with Nickelodeon.
Now that the movie is in movie theaters instead of on Nick, they needed three additional episodes. The first one they ordered was the April Fool Day episode where Helga goes blind. The other two episodes are a two parter which features Arnold looking for his parents. This was supposed to directly lead into the second movie, which probably won't happen due to the "Craig Bartlett/Cartoon Network fiasco".
Why does this make a difference to me? To put it blunt, I'm just expecting a ninety minute long episode like the "CatDog" movie was, not a full movie like the "Rugrats" films. (I'm not saying I liked them. I'm just saying that both "Rugrats" movies had actually felt like movies, not episodes.)
Ah, Hey Arnold. A Nick show that actually deserved a movie!
...except that with Helga confessing, it all immediantly goes down in smoke. -_- That was one of the better points of the show in her ranting on how wonderful he was yet never being able to tell, and this would undoubtedly ruin the most interesting gag on the show. That's not good.
Hopefully, other than that, it should be alright to see. The chars are all well-rounded enough to fill out a hour and a half/2 hour movie, and even though the show DID get a little preachy....I think it's sorta good they got into that "moral/winner" phase, because we got to focus on other char's personalities. We even had Principal Wartz and Curly get his own eppy!![]()

....I wish I had a decent one.
I was just thinking, I really want this movie to be the conclusion to the series. Helga's confession should be saved for the last Arnold creation whether it be an episode or movie. That gag has been with the show since the beginning and it should end with the show itself. Then there maybe could be a little special afterwards to show what the Arnold gang has been up too since the show's conclusion...maybe like a "Hey Arnold all grown up" thing like they did with the Rugrats.
This is just my opinion, because I feel the show might turn into crap if this gag has ended...

I can't wait to see this movie myself. What with this, Lilo and Stitch, Men in Black 2, and the Powerpuff Girls movie this summer will rock.
Beleive me, I cannot wait for this movie! I have been a Hey Arnold fan since the beginning of the show on Nick. I have books, dolls, keychains... lots of merchandise.
It's true that the movie was intended for a TV movie, but I don't think that will hurt it. And the entire thing with Helga confessing seems like it will be the end of it all. Good way to end it, but I'm sad to see it go. (Especially since Nick is being crabby with Craig Bartlett lately. That's a different story)
And if anyone's interested, there's a new HA episode on Saturday if I'm not mistaken.![]()
