Dear goodness. Guy has a lot of ideas, doesn't he?Seven new pilots picked up for the 2012-13 season, including four by Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, T.U.F.F. Puppy)
This is the talkback thread for Nickelodeon Upfront 2012: "Legend of Korra" Premieres April 14, 2012; "Raving Rabbids" & "Monsters vs. Aliens" Series.
The rumor that Korra was coming in 2013? Totally untrue.
Stay tuned for more. Harley and I are at the upfront now. Images (and maybe video) coming soon.

It's kind of like ET, if you take out all of the emotion and turn it into a silly webcomic that's updated on Tuesdays and Thursdays
So Legend of Korra airs right after Young Justice, nice.
Thanks for the update, Ed! It should be noted that the show's title has been officially changed to simply The Legend of Korra (ref: http://www.avatarspiritmedia.net/new...2&month=3#n605).
I'm glad; TLA:LoK never made much sense in the first place. I preferred Avatar: The Legend of Korra, but this is a reasonable compromise.
I should never have left Bag End, that was my first mistake. We have an little saying in the Shire, we learn it from birth, "Never venture East!” -- Bilbo Baggins, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Lots of good stuff here! Korra and TMNT are premiering soon, I just can't wait! And Ravving Rabbits & that Monsters vs Aliens series sounds pretty good.
SpongeBob stop-motion christmas episode? I need to see that.
Glad to see Fairly OddParents returning, I thought it was canceled. Also happy to see new episodes of the Penguins of Madagascar.
Seven animated pilots? Whoa, that's nice to see. Four of them are from Butch so, I can't wait to see them!
Sounds like this year is gonna be pretty awesome. I want to see more details about the pilots, anyone knows when is the next upfront?
Superjail lover.
*So the Monsters Vs Aliens series is happening after all? Fine by me, I liked that movie.
*Korra is premiering in April. Sweet.
*I read The Fairly OddParents is in the "Returning Series" list. I don't think they would do that just cause there's still an 11-minute segment left...
*More Penguins, TUFF Puppy & Kung Fu Panda. Cool.
*Not to keen on the Raving Rabbids show. I find them kinda silly and annoying, but I'll check it out.
*Still not very much info on Robot & Monster, but I like the robot's design. He reminds me of Blastus (Robotomy)
So yeah, nice upfront. Looks like Fanboy & Chum Chum and Planet Sheen are gone. And that's fine by me.
Observation: Wow, Nick animation is like, 80% CGI toons now... Penguins, Kung Fu Panda, Robot & Monster, TMNT, new Winx Club seasons, Monsters Vs Aliens & Raving Rabbids. Only 2D toons are Spongebob & Hartman's shows. *Not that there's anything bad, I enjoy CGI toons as long as the show and characters are good, just an observation*
Nothing to see here, just keep on with what you were doing...
I'll say that this upfront of Nick looks promising.
I'm also surprise that Monsters Vs. Aliens are getting a series which i believe would do good i mean they can come up with alot of stories both on the main characters and villains, i can pic John DiMaggio voicing General Warren R. Monger.
YES! Nice to know that Legend of Korra will premier next month, i was worry that we have to wait soooo long to see it.
Raving Rabbids might be fun, probably better then Planet Sheen and Fanboy and Chum Chum which it's surprise that indeed F&CC is canceled? Hope so even if they still have some episodes left.
4 pilot episodes from Butch Hartman? Wow tho i do hope he does go with a different direction instead of the same old nutty characters and same art style, i actually wanted to see how Crash Nebula worked, the designs where interesting.

"Picked up" doesn't mean "guaranteed series," does it? It just means "ordered pilot," right? Because four Butch Hartman shows is the unfairness of life in its purest form. Not even Seth MacFarlane gets that many!
I'm completely shocked Monsters vs. Aliens got its own show. Last I heard they had scrapped all future plans for the property because the movie didn't do as well as they wanted.
It could make a good show if it's written right and takes full advantage of the B-movie homages it could have....but there's one problem with it that I noticed in the Halloween special. The balance of power in this team is very lopsided; it's very easy to beat Bob but nearly impossible for anything to stand up against Ginormica.

THIS WEEK: When you think about it, TV shows with cult fanbases have actually returned more times than they haven't. The results have been mixed, but it's a thing, and it totally happens! Join us as we examine many recent examples in..."YOU CAME BACK!"
We updated the news post with a Legend of Korra teaser trailer.

My response to to Korra's release date:
Nice to see that Nick's going forward with the Monsters vs. Aliens series. Though I wonder if Stephen Colbert will come back to VA for the show.
Yeah pretty much, if they have mention "Nick picked up 7 Series" that would be different but they said Pilots so i guess they are doing this Oh Yeah Cartoon thing if not mistaking. I doubt Butch Hartman would work on 4 cartoons at the same time including FOP and TUFF that's a bit too much for someone to handle.

Legend of Korra
Today's been a good day!
Shocked that Monsters Vs. Aliens is still getting a show. I thought that was canceled. Hopefully it'll be like Madagascar where the show's better than the movie.

FINALLY! More T.U.F.F. Puppy!
Look's like Fanboy and ChumChum's dead, and I shall tap dance on its grave.
Planet Sheen seems dead, too. Of course, I was never really interested in that show in the first place.
Look for me on deviantART, Newgrounds (MutterMoron666), and YouTube!

Well the show is titled: The Legend of Korra and the editors of the topic should put the official title as Nick writes it but if we're discussing it I'm fine with just Legend of Korra. I just think the topic title should have "The" in it since that's the title of the show.
Cannot wait for the series. 11AM on Saturdays is pretty convenient with the new shows being on the day. Seems Nick is trying to get Saturday mornings back which is a step in the right direction. Hopefully more episodes are ordered than 26.
Added the official press release.

Though I'm happy to see Korra premiering so soon in a month I'm kind of annoyed that Nick hasn't been giving it any promotion on their actual channel then. I get that they have to promote the KCAs but come on Nick, it's time to really start blitzing if you have a show premiere in the month. Keep airing ads every day and every break you can about it to get people watching. Since though 11AM Saturday can be a good slot (hey That's the slot T.U.F.F puppy has and that seems to be doing really well) you still need to let the kids know ASAP. Maybe we'll start getting it soon now that the offical annoucement has come but it still strikes me as a bit too early for it to have a full on premiere. Espiecally with how Nick gave like months of promotion before Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomness came out.
Though yeah pretty good upfront. Not only do we get a date for Avatar but have some other good confronmations. And I guess the whole "we can only work on one Dreamworks series at a time" rumor has been debunked with not only Penguins still around but Nick also getting a monsters vs aliens series as well. I wonder how that would work but hey I'm not going to claw it down right out of the gate.
Instead of just using this new signature to celebrate a thousand more post, let me list of all the great things you can expect of me on this board for 2012:
...... The same talkbacks you saw me do last year but with new episodes.
.... What are you doing still reading this? Move to the next post already! .
I can't wait for The Legend of Korra, good to have a premiere date and an official title finally. I'm not too surprised that it's going to be on Saturday mornings, since Nick doesn't have much of a block for that sort of thing on Friday nights anymore and I can't blame them for wanting to strengthen their Saturdays as much as possible.
It's interesting that The Fairly Oddparents is still not dead. I thought for sure it was done after season 8, but I guess it's not too surprising that Nick would want to keep it around since as far as I know it still does reasonably well for them. That Spongebob Christmas special should be unique. Personally, I think it's a bit too late for a Raving Rabbids series, I feel like their popularity peaked several years ago, but I could be wrong.
With Spongebob, Oddparents, Korra, TUFF, Penguins, Kung Fu Panda, Winx Club, Robot and Monster, Raving Rabbids, Monsters vs. Aliens, TMNT, and at some point probably another Butch Hartman series or 2, that is content-wise a solid and somewhat diverse bunch of animation Nick has on its hands here. On the live action front, they've got quite a few popular sitcoms, an action series in Power Rangers, a dramatic series in House of Anubis, even a game show now that Figure it Out is being revived (I guess Brainsurge is done though?). That's quite a variety of programming really. Now if only they could fix the way they schedule it all.
