This is a good Ep, Totally dedicated to Dib vs. Zim, with great soundtrack to the action and the Professor's scene is absolutely priceless, because you get a real solid idea that Maybe good Old Dib's Dad, ain't quite all THERE.
If you enjoy Zim for it's action You'll love this, likewise with the Alien factor, you've got the Tallests, the return of Invader Skooge (stationed on Bloch; Home of the Slaughtering Rat people) and the Swollen Eyeballs have a big part in this ep too. Gir's in good form when he's not running around in the background, but it's not a Gir-centric ep, so what do you expect; and sadly no Gaz the whole ep I think.
For me though, It's all about the Prof. when Dib leaves the house. I guess he has some free time since he finished the PEG.
And exactly How many things in The Membrane household are renderings of the Professor's likeness in some way shape or form, There's Lamps, Pictures, a Clock and tonight's addition; anyone know any else?

Why, tis no matter, man; if they did hear,
They would not mark me, or if they did mark,
They would not pity me, yet plead I must;
Therefore I tell my sorrows to the stones;
- TITUS ANDRONICUS
- Act 3, Scene 1
Professor Membrane will be seen quite a bit at home in future episodes, probably because he gave up on that "free energy" thing. His efforts aren't so much focused on advancing the world, as they are trying to encourage Dib to give up his paranormal investigation "hobby" and persue real science. He mentions it quite a few times.
Matt this is Fantastic NEWS! You have no idea, my total admiration for this show culmunated these past two weeks, causing me to d/l all the eps I could find and to throw my hat into the IZ fanpage ring. Ohhh such a large ring it is too. I've designed webpages (and gotten paid for it on occasion) for the last 7 years, and have phased out of the whole have a page just to have one type of thing, So I set out to do something rad and unique for this thing, and decided to target The Professor. And just today I settled for a design scheme I'm happy with. The content is forthcoming, but I'd love to get some feedback if anyone's curious.Originally posted by Matt Wilson

Like I said, page is brand spanking new, and I'm still early in the IZ world, but I want to make something worthwhile.
Anyhow the Professor is keen despite his faults, and I can't wait to see more from him.
Also Gaz had 1 whole line in the ep tonight so I was wrong...
I'm guessing that the 'real science' and "My poor insane Son." are goin to be his running Gags now. Anyway What's coming up next week?

Next week is: Abducted/Megadoomer
This episode this week will become a classic for all of us fans. This basically centered on Dib and Zim's hatred for each other. The whole Invader Scooge thing is my favorite and also Gir's rantings during the whole episode. I can't wait for "Gir Goes Crazy and Stuff".
I was once called Patrick Star....a looooooong time ago.........then I needed a break.
I'd be happy if ANYONE remembered me!
We sure have seen a lot of products with the word poop on it Like poop korn poop soda this episode was great it was sorta gunny when dib feel into the crack of the butt of mercury and he sorta looked like poop coming out pS And Poop Candiez.peach out![]()
Yeah i have also noticed that. The line i'l never forget is from the ep when Gir became the houses brain and he went to that Taco hut and went "Gimme a large glass of poop".

Man, the more (quasi) new episodes I watch, the more I hate to think that it'll be over in a month or two. The scene with Prof. Membrane and his little doll was hilarious. That, and John DeLancie (Agent Darkbootie/NASA Janitor) does really good voices.
This episode was just about perfect! You can really feel that Jhonen and the crew are getting a real handle on the characters now. Plus this episode had a ton of stuff--references to previous episodes (the Tallest remembering Zim covered in Meat from "Germs"), the return of Invader Skooge, and, finally, a genuine appearance of the Swollen Eyeball Network!
I wonder if Zim is using his "stupid projector" on people. I'd think something was up if I saw Mars flying into Mars, not to mention mutant hamsters, enormous water balloons, and disappearing organs!
Agent Darkbootie was Star Trek's Q? Perfect!
"You don't have the tools to defeat me."
--Karkull, "The Hand of Fate"
The Justice League Watchtower -- Now 99.9% Wonder Twin-free!
Dib stuck in a giant stone butt--very disturbing. Something for the SlashFiccers to bugger around with, I imagine....
ALl sorts of great lines, like "Do I ahve to go into the whole funding thing again?" and "Ah...you can still smell the monkey."
In addition to the "poop" refs, note that the drooling and spilling of beverages was used a lot here--notably the fat NASAPLACE scientist and the guy who was getting his can crushed by Mars.
Any significance to the inbred-looking people running from the approaching red planet? Possibly Vasquez in-jokes sneaking in from Johnny or Squee or some such thing like that there?
The scary think is that Zim and Dib are not completely unalike. Both are short, big-headed and laughingstocks among their peers and to adults. Frighteningly, under other circumstances they'd be fabulous friends!
"What does this button do? Oooooh! What does this button do?"
"Could you please get away from me?" "Okay!"
I loved it. I felt sorry for the rat people (rats are one of my favorite animals and I just thought they were cool aliens) but it was hilarious when the tallests kept mocking zim.
Too bad I get EXTREMELY depressed after every new episode airs, since it`s one step closer to the premature end.

I think Nick will probably stretch the episodes out during the summer. As in, don't be surprised if a few weeks are reruns.
The last episode airs on Christmas.. so they have quite a lot of time to fill.
I noticed this line from Matt's news article :
Zim and Gir have bad disguises, the two aliens have bad disguises, so 4 in all have bad disguises. In next week's first 11-minute story, "Abducted", two moronic aliens even dumber than Zim (and taller too) mistake Zim for a human and GIR for a dog. They somehow managing to kidnap the two, despite having terrible disguises..
Okay, this was the first episode I ever saw.
My God, I'm in love. Curse you, Nick!
This had to be one of the funniest things EVER. For some reason, I got a kick out of the guy screaming in horror as Mars crushes... his can of soda.
Dang it, why didn't I find this earlier?!

Those character-driven shows like Ed, Edd, eand Eddy and Zim are always overlooked.
The face of mars and the butt of murcury,eww..
Curse those vulgar thoughts in my mind. Anyway I downloaded that episode before hand,How'd that get on the net if it wasn't even shown on TV.

I always love hearing what people think of shows they didnt see much of before... everyone I know immediately latches onto zim. I was vaguely familiar with Johnen Vasquez`s previous works since I saw a few scenes from his comics online, and knew that an animated project from such a clever and often contraversial artist would be something special, and decided it was my #1 favorite show before the pilot`s opening credits had even finished! Gir is probably one of the only "cute little robot sidekicks" i`ve seen that actually succeeds at being incredibly adorable rather than incredibly irritating (anyone remember "TWIKIE?" Anyone even WANT to remember Twikie?)Originally posted by MTDiva

If you liked battle of planets you just have to see the halloween special if and when it re-airs. Johnen Vasquez has an obsession with bizarre monsters (as do I) and fills the special with hordes of extremely surreal creatures (A lot of clive barker, H.R. Giger and lovecraft influence) who for some reason happen to be eating ice cream or lollipops or slushies and other treats almost all of the time. The episode includes the line "We`re gonna open your heeead!!!"
