The theme song was okay.![]()
Fan of jrpgs, anime, and cartoons.
Typical Butch Hartman stuff, though it is kind of funny how much physical damage Kitty suffers in this show alongside Dudely.
is it too soon for shipping kitty and dudley are cute
An extremely goofy cartoon, which is no surprise since it's created by Butch. Still, I liked it.

I enjoyed it. The Chameleon is probably going to be my favorite villain.
I enjoyed it. Like review said it did seem kinda familiar, but it has that sertain something that I liked. Can't wait for next weeks episode.:anime:
Pretty much all of the same writers from Season 7 of FOP are on this show. This is not a good thing.
I'll admit it looked promising, but don't get too attached to the characters and start shipping and that stuff, it will only hurt more when the flanderization sets in.
I will say this. The first episode was possibily one of the worst things ive seen on tv. Annoying villain, lame jokes, people shouting at the top of their lungs all the time, and predictable writing. it was just painful.
However, the chameleon episode was somewhat redeemable. I laughed at a few jokes(the camera sene being the funniest), the villain was funny and kitty and dudleys relationship looks promising.
Overall, i give it a C-.
The show's...ok. It's basically the same kind of Fairly Oddparents humor we're used to, but with animals now.
Nothing truly outstanding so far, but Dudley and Kitty have surprisingly good chemistry as far as Hartman characters go. They also take equal amounts of abuse, so I might check it out a bit more if it improves on everything else.
I thought this was the better of the two new series premieres this morning.
Honestly, there were a lot of simple jokes, but they seemed to work well enough. And Jerry Trainor and Grey DeLisle play off of each other real well as Dudley and Kitty. Also, I doubt there will be much continuity in this show, given I was going to make a remark about Chameleon taking 8 of Kitty's 9 lives... but then at the end, he got blown up twice before turning into a puddle of goo. Um... huh?
If I had to pick between this and Planet Sheen after just one episode, I'd go for T.U.F.F. Puppy. Neither really blew me away, though.

Oh, you noticed that as well? Glad I'm not the only one.
It's not a surprise to me, though. That's practically Butch Hartman's trademark; characters talking as loudly as they can, because his opinion is that loud = funny. He does this kind of stuff to death in FOP, so it's no surprise that his next project is similar in almost every way.
I'm not going to rag on this show too much, given that this is only the first episode. It was, however, pretty much everything I expected it to be, though; FOP, starring animals instead of humans. Yawn.
Ugh, rapid-fire humor is no good when the jokes themselves aren't that funny. I think the only gag that I actually found funny was when the Chameleon dons the goggles and they don't fit his eyes...and the utter overkill of the laser boomerang.
There's just something overall that feels very...off, about this show to me. It's like everything is played up to be funny, but isn't. I honestly don't see the joke in the rat beyond some vague villain clichés that I guess are supposed to add up to something funny, but just amount to a crazy guy talking loudly with a shrill voice.
And of course, the whole thing about how stupid Dudley is supposed to be being a joke, but there's no sense of timing to any of his acts of idiocy. There's never any sense of buildup or anticipation to his gags. Worse still, his stupidity is so contrived. The insane conclusions he jumps to, like when he blows up everything in Kitty's apartment, come off less as acts of stupidity and more as just meanness passed off as stupidity.
It also doesn't help that there's nothing in the way of funny dialogue. Everything said feels like it's simply explaining the visual. Take when Dudley punches Chameleon out the window and takes the time to explain that he should've waited until he let Kitty go. Again, he's just explaining what he did to the audience.
...And it's kind of funny to note that when he shot Kitty was the one time he might've been right, all things considered.
Though that said, I am kind of surprised that Kitty is subjected to so much slapstick. Arguably even more so than Dudley.

Why not? If you recall, Danny and Sam shipping started in the first episode of Danny Phantom!
I have to say, the show looks good, but I don't think it'll ever replace Danny Phantom:
1) The comedy-action ratio seems to be the exact opposite of that in DP
2) The theme song was good, but not as catchy
However, I will applaud the fact that they show how Duddley origin and how he became a secret agent. FOP and DP started with the life changing event all behind and the main characters still getting use to it.
I must say, I do find the concept of what makes Duddley what he is fascinating. I mean, a dog with the genetic combination of every breed known to man? Whoa, he must have some family tree.
Still, while this show may follow after Danny Phantom, it will not replace it. Still, what do I know? I've only seen the first episode! And who knows? Perhaps if this show does great, Nick might consider relighting DP. I know, that thought is just crazy, but what can I say? I have a hard time letting go of things.
Be careful what you wish for. Consider if Nick revived DP at this exact moment, it would be a DP without Steve Marmel, and with FOP's current skeleton crew writers working on it.
I'd LOVE to see how Kevin Sullivan would handle a shipping episode. Probably would make Paulina a good girl and have Sam carrying around a paddle.![]()

I think this is somewhat a good thing. I have nothing against women of course lol. I think it's nice that every gender is getting fair treatment in terms of slapstick, most shows tend to leave the female characters alone. But at least here, it's almost pretty even for both genders.
That's true, i don't mean that she needs to get more slapstick than Dudley but to have a few hilarious situations that most female characters don't get much on other cartoons.
The show wasn't bad, it does have the bad humor that FOP has but some where funny, do hope it show some improvements as the show progress.

Deadpool: They replace Megas XLR for this!? Man where’s the world coming to
Yeah, the thing about Kitty is that normally, girls in slapstick comedy are boring because nothing happens to them. That's the reason why Lola Bunny was so jarring in Space Jam: she wasn't a cartoon character, she was more or less a human in a bunny suit that even had to be saved from being flattened. You know, something any other toon would survive.

This was... tolerable. I suppose anything looks better after sitting through Planet Sheen and the attrocity that preceded it.
Now 20% cooler
