Fanboy & Chum Chum - New Episode!
Episode #101A/103A - Wizboy / Trading Day
Original Airdate - Friday, November 6, 2009 at 9:00 p.m. ET
• Wizboy: Mr. Mufflin’s class is introduced to a new student, Kyle, who was expelled from the Milkweed Academy for Wizards. Although their classmates aren’t impressed, Fanboy and Chum Chum excitedly welcome Kyle into their circle and do their best to show their new friend a great time by playing “wizards” with him, whether he likes it or not.
• Trading Day: Yo offers Fanboy to trade Chum Chum for a Mecha-Tech Robot. In a moment of weakness, Fanboy agrees to trade his best pal for the robot, but it’s not long before he realizes it’s no fun when you don’t have your best friend around to share the toy with. Fanboy finds that rescuing his pal from Yo may be tougher than he thought.

This show isn't really bad, but I'm not sure if I'd say it's good... It's watchable, but I'm not laughing much. It has its moments, but a lot of it just wasn't that funny to me. I'll give it some time...

Kassandra: Goddess of Awesome
...That was horrible.
First off, Chum Chum's voice is INCREDIBLY annoying, and makes him sound like a character from Rugrats.
General "jokes" and storylines weren't exactly great. I'll give it a few more episodes.
Also.. are Fanboy and Chum Chum supposed to be homosexual? The writers sure make it seem that way.

"Stop watching Fox News!"
There were many cute and funny gags, and the amazing cool toy...but that "monkey diaper" thing was DISGUSTING!!!!!
"Don't you have a monkey's butt to wipe?"
EWEWEWEWEWEWWEEWWWWWW.
Did I mention Ew?
The good and the bad balanced each other out. If the show can keep this up while adding character development and removing the poop jokes, we could have something amazing on our hands.

Poor butthurt wizard boy. :anime:

This show has potential. The main problem I have with it is the same one I have with Flapjack... the main characters are easily the most annoying ones on the show. Time will tell if I get over that.
Now 20% cooler
They all think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am mad.
The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma.
You can't touch music, but music can touch you.
I actually like the opening song, surprisingly, although I think this series should've been traditionally animated instead of cel-shaded, because it looks sorta...off in cel-shaded.
The premiere night ratings are in...

- 3.2/6 HH
- 0.9/3 A18-49

Huh. Maybe it won't be crated off to Nicktoons after all.

This show uses the same tired old formula derived, I guess, from Spongebob: that of the oblivious idiot character(s) tormenting the smarter character, who, for some unfathomable reason, never seems to be able to adequately defend him/her/self. Which we are supposed to find hilarious. I didn't. I think Fanboy and his ChumChum are not only unfunny but slightly creepy. And I doubt I'll give this a second look. The signs are already there that things will not get better, that Fanboy and his sidekick are based on stupidity instead of personality. Feh. The lack of originality and imagination in so many newer toons is truly depressing. This ep gets a big fat goose egg from me.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

Yeah, I caught this vibe with The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack as well; it seems several cartoons are trying to replicate Spongebob's success and do so with a hollow imitation. The saddest part is that Spongebob itself has even fallen into this trap, with his bugging of Squidward being no long funny, as Squidward doesn't do anything to deserve any of it these days; he's just there. This show uses the same tired old formula derived, I guess, from SpongebobAt least, after the quality of Truth or Square, there's more hope of things getting back on track.
I think it's worth noting, from a Nickelodeon press release:
