    Nicktoons or Live Action?

    Like This Thread!
Should nick air only nicktoons or live action like Drake and Josh and Zoey 101. I think they should air only nicktoons so they could free up Nicktoons network to create Nick Rewind channel. The live action shows could be put on a block on the-n like teenick on the-n. This would please peole who like nicktoons, live action and of course 80's and 90's nick lovers. So then they could please viewers until they decide what to do with nick gas! PS this is my new way of ending a post since I love Futurama and this is the only smilie I could find so enjoy!

Think you're in the wrong forum for that DarkLordAvaitor.

But neither only Nicktoons nor Live Action shows will work for Nick. I mean NIck isn't CN: They aren't betraying they're roots by airing Live Action. I mean live action shows is what they use to have for the most part until 1991 when Nicktoons first started. And finding a balance between airing Nicktoons and Live action teenage shows seems to work for them, as they have they're hit toons (Spongebob, Avatar, Fairly Oddparents) and hit live action shows (Drake And Josh, Ned's Declassifed School Survival Guide) and I see no reason for them to give it up. I mean think about it: If Nickelodeon became all Nicktoons, you think you would see the classics reairng again like Rocko or Rugrats or Doug? Not so much. More likely you'd get 10 spongebob instead of 5 and more repeats of other hit shows then you'd know what to do with. Same goes with the live action channel: In case it isn't clear, there isn't too much money in airing shows stuck in rerun cycles wihtout any new content coming out, espically on prime cable networks. Thus there's no reason to try and split off Nicktoons from live action toons when it's getting good ratings and the shows aren't horribly bad (some of the live action shows are actually decent if you get to know them truthfully).
Instead of just using this new signature to celebrate a thousand more post, let me list of all the great things you can expect of me on this board for 2012:

...... The same talkbacks you saw me do last year but with new episodes.

.... What are you doing still reading this? Move to the next post already! .

I think that NIck should be a mix of cartoons and live action. That's why they made the Nicktoons channle.

But seriously, just keep with both live-action and animation.

I completely agree. That's a nice dream, but realistically, it would never work. The only way a 24 hour Nicktoons channel could work is if it were commercial free, so they would be able to show all the Nicktoons, past and present. If it were a commercial network that existed for profit, the old-school Nicktoons would we purposely relegated to only airing at certain times a day to make room for newer shows. You'd mostly just get SpongeBob and Avatar about 10 times in a day until you'd be ready to scream.

Nick is best just staying the way it is with a mix of live action and animation. A Nick Rewind Channel would be a good idea, but it doesn't look like Viacom is interested in making one at this time.

Nickelodeon airing both cartoons and live-action is good. their goal is to entertain kids through any medium.

Wasn't there a whole bunch of complaining going on a few years ago about Nick not airing ENOUGH live-action shows? I think it's good to have a mixture of LA and Toons on Nick (which is how it is, now). That's why we have Nicktoons Network.
