Well, since this technically isn't a pure CN or Nick thread, but combines both of them, I felt it was better to put it here instead of in any of those two other boards.
What would result out of a total CN/Nick fusion, combing both's sensibilities? What would that mean for the world of animation?

Only bad things could come out of that.....a merger would mean zero competition and less innovation. Good thing TimeWarner and Viacom aren't currently likely to become pals.

Yeah!!! And Mandy would ask Wanda, "Why do you put up with that idiot?" and beat the snot out of Cosmo. And Wanda would ask Mandy, "Why do you put up with THAT idiot?" and beat the snot out of Billy. After which the paint departments I previously mentioned would run out of snot green and Wanda and Mandy would gang up to beat something else out of Cosmo, after which another paint shortage would occur. Hey, suddenly I'm liking this idea...Originally Posted by staticblue

We would loose Toonami forever if they fused! I bet Miguzi would disappear as well, so we don't want that!

Book-burning is such an ugly phrase. I prefer to think of it as "English lit."--Larry Hollister
Then Codename: Kids Next Door and Avatar would be the only good ongoing shows on them.
Maybe Zim would finally come back with a better time slot.
Mabye the head in charge would hire Bleedman.

The entire universe would explode.
How'd it get burned? HOW'D IT GET BURNED? HOW'D IT GET BURNED HOW'D IT GET BURNED!!!!!!????
The State Alchemists find themselves fending off an Irken invasion.
We'd finally get a conclusion to Hey Arnold! (Still waiting to find out the kid's last name...)
K-C would attempt another comeback, and propose a revival of their "current" shows on the new network.
Heck, many of the witty cancelled shows would propose a comeback (Zim, Megas, I'm looking in your direction...)
Er, that's the only good things I can think of.

Um, an anti-trust investigation by the feds (given Time-Warner and Viacom's huge sizes)? :-)

Who figures with the current presidential administration, the phrase "anti-trust laws" probably isn't in their vocabulary anyway...

That notion almost calls for a yell of "DYW" where for once the "W" does not stand for "Willis"... but I digress.
I think the station programming may end up getting stranger and even more entertaining... to a certain degree.
Awaiting the dreaded "Age of the Chameleon" with one eye looking over my shoulder.
Uh, there already is a Nick and CN fusion, and that's CN trying to copy off of Nick's ideas while letting go of they're own originality for anything that works. I mean I don't see it being impossible that CN, desperate for ratings would try begging Nick for some kind of co-project to work on (after all CN was offered shows like Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents first but turned them down. Those shows ended up to be some of Nick's biggest money makers. Guess who feels really stupid now?). But even if Nick and Cn actually did combine studios and make shows, I don't know if it would be such a quantm leap of aniamtion. I mean it's not like the best teams would be partnered together. That would be too much say... logic for one network to handle. What would result out of a total CN/Nick fusion, combing both's sensibilities? What would that mean for the world of animation?
However let's just say that we threw the fact that they threw logic out the window and not only combined, but also to maximum efficencey. Then the possibilites could actually be bright. But there's something people are overlooking. Something that could mean more then even revived shows or crossovers.
Nick has a pretty indepth teenage fanbase. (It scores pretty good ratings with shows like Avatar and all the Teen Nick stuff like Zoey 101).
Cartoon Network has the ability to go up to PG-V with it's content
Both networks are more lienant when it comes to special occasion projects. (mainly movies).
If you would combine those facets, you could actually get (breath deep on this) Mature, serious, and even more epic teenage action/drama/whatever shows that don't NEED to cater to much of a kids auidence and could actually widen the animation gap in America. I mean face it, most US toons are either action or comedy, or made for kids or adult: imagine if the Nick CN combo didn't need that, and didn't need to cater to those specific crowds. Imagine more accepted TV shows, one that push boundaries and are rewarded for doing so. Now that's what I call fusion.
But of course this is logically to big a step for such small minded networks to make so it will never happen, sadly enough.
Well That's 1000 Posts Down And...
... Guess However many left I have until I get too annoying to be kept around and got banned or something.
Sure, combining the networks means less opportunities for some good shows to get in, but at the same time, it limits the space for bad ones to get in too.
But yeah, at the networks' and companies who own them's current level, that would violate the anti-trust laws if they were to try it now. If one of the networks were to shrink and be close to dying... then yeah, then it could be feasible and allowable.
