I was just thinking about how awsome Likin Park is! I totally their new cd "Meteora" ( I'm listening to it as I make this post) and their other cd "Hybrid Theroy" is just as good. Linkin Park has an awsome mix of vocals and beats! Tell me what you think of them! Thanx!

It recently dawned on me that my signature could be interpreted as being said by me. For the record, this was not the case. If the previous signature reduced your opinion of me, please increase your opinion. Thank you.

Ouch.
They're okay. They got me liking modern rock again. I think Hybrid Theory is by far the best album. I bought Meteora bootleg for 5 bucks, and I'm glad it was only 5. But it's good too.
I know the question is a little loaded, but keep it all nice folks....![]()

Well, all right, to be fair, they're okay, but certainly nothing special. Sometimes their lyrics make me laugh, because they end up sounding kind of suburban-teenaged-white-boy-whiny to me, even if they were trying to go for something emotional that people could relate to: "Too much pressure to take", "You act like I'm part of your property!", etc. Something like that. Maybe I'm sexist, but it kind of sounds like the lyrics of a bad-angry-girl-band.
Then again, what the hell do I know? ^_^ And I did like the video that Borg4of3 made: "Over the Edge" episode clips set to Linkin Park's "In the End".

Gonna have to agree w/ Stander and Morey on this, but you are young, so you obviously haven't been exposed to that much music, so it's not as bad as say, a 21 year old making that statement.
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.

yea... there's not enough years in eaxistence before the sun dies out for me to explian how likin park and 99% of other "rock" has ruined music that we all loved.

If you honestly think that Linkin Park is the best band ever then you need to be locked in a room and made to listen to every record ever relaesed by Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and dozens of other bands who have produced music that Linkin Park is just not capable of producing.Originally Posted by Angel_Baby
And the answer to your question is: what.

The only thing I like about Linkin Park is that on the remix album, they had some cool electronica effects. Other then that, the band has no good parts whatsoever.
Not really bad, and today I heard a live version of one of their big songs on the radio and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it (on a music level at least, I wasn't listening to the lyrics) but as to your question, definitely "or what."
But I'm glad you can appreciate them Angel. I'm sure you'll get some other fans to chime in eventually.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow
Linkin Park has more teen angst than seven high schools put together. And yet, I still don't dislike them that much.
um.........no?

I don't think that they are the greatest band ever (Metallica anyone?) but I do agree that they are an excellent band. Hybrid Theory was an excellent CD and one that really brought me back into the music world at a time where I basically could have cared less. I think it's quite possible that their EP was even better than their first widely released CD and I have enjoyed both their remix and latest album. Not the greatest band ever but definetely one in my top five of personal favorites.

Agreed. Is Linkin Park a good band? Well, that's debatable. I like them, personally. But are they the best band ever in the history of bands? HELL no. Even if we confine our discussion to recent bands as opposed to classic rock bands like Arkangel cited, I'd place 311, Incubus, Sublime, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cypress Hill, etc. etc. etc. over Linkin Park any day.Originally Posted by Arkangel
I think of Linkin Park as kind of being like 80's hair bands in a strange way. An odd pop culture phenomenon, vastly overrated by their fans and vastly underrated by everyone else, and in the end, mostly harmless.
I'd like them more if they showed something like diversity in their music. Their only slow song is "My December." Everything else follows a basic formula that, while I personally find enjoyable, definitely gets old after a while. It wasn't so bad with "Hybrid Theory" when that formula was still new, but after "Meteora" where the only song that diverges at all from it is "Nobody's Listening," I got kinda bored.
Ultimately, while, as I seem to keep saying, I do find them enjoyable, unless they do something VASTLY different with their third album, I think I'm going to have to write them off as a one-trick pony.
Well, no matter what everyone else says, I really really like Linkin Park. I've listened to Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, and Meteora, and I have Reanimation (though I've played it so many times that is so messed up that now it can't play without skipping.)
And three of my friends are members of the LPU (Linkin Park Underground) so you they're obsessed.
Who's to say they are or aren't the best band, though? People have their own opinions and no matter how you try to sway them you can't change them. So even though some of us like LP, some of us don't, and just because some people do doesn't mean that they don't like Led Zeppelin or Metallica or Pink Floyd (because I do--I listen to everything that's not country.) But they just like LP better. Anywho, sermon over.

Well, to be fair, I don't think they're as horrible as some people say they are. However, I have to say that I don't care for them, and I'd never say that they're the best band ever. I basically find their angsty-male lyrics somewhat formulaic and repetitive, and it almost seems like every song is a variation on the same thing.
But whatever. I don't hate on people that do like them.![]()
