The Eminem Show: The Album Review

    Like This Thread!
As a whole this is a great album, you can tell just exactly what Em had on his mind and you can actually say He's matured a bit but kept his style inntact. The beats are psychotic, and addictive. Now rather than just tell you about cetain tracks I'm going to give my opinion on each track.

One more thing, this is the Bootleg album but I'm still buying the official CD, because i want the DVD and I gotta support Shady. His Cd was the first I ever bought.

1.Intro- No need to be rated

2.White America- Great song and true, If you bought his last album the end is a trip. He mentions some political influences.

3.Let's Get Down to Buisness- CRAZY...Really good, 2 listens and you'll be trying to rap along.

4.Cleaning out My Closet-Catchy, great diss to his mother and a good way for him to get stuff off his chest that he couldn't while being sued.

5.Doh-C-Doh- Funny and a good song(my second fave)..A samll diss to Cannibus is included. Square Dance with Me!

6.Interlude(Soldier)- Funny..Good Setup for following track

7.Soldier- Great Flow, one of the weaker songs on the album but still good and addictive.

8.Hollywood- I hate thsi song, i haven't even listened to the hold thing..It's just annoying.

9.That's Why- Obi is featured on this track about catching and watching out for STD's, Em has one particularly hillarious line that I'm sure some of you can identufy with.

10.Without Me- The first single, the silly song that's on all of Em's Cd's.

    11.Paul Interlude- NNR

    12. Sing with Me- Good song. Hook done well, kind of like Stan but no story but it seems like he lifted the hook off a song from a singer, it's still good.

13.You Want me- Great, Funny.. Em and the girl that was featured on Drug Ballad and Come on EveryBody, do a song about Em never falling in love again, I love this girl her voice is just so sexy, her tracks are usually my fave's on Em's Cds.

14.The Worlds On My shoulder- EM SINGS... well he trys to. He goes back to rapping in the last part of the song and makes fun of his own singing...Good song actually even if Em can't sing, the beat makes him sound good. Addictive.

    15.Paul Interlude part 2.- nnr

16.If I- D12 and Em flow well, even Bizzare does good on this song

17.What You say- Hillarious ROAST on J.D. and Em goes [expletive deleted]ing nuts, great song, great flow from Dre and Em.

18.In 2-Nate Dogg guest stars..doing the hook as usual, It's good, no it's great one of the bests ongs on the track..CRAZY beat.

19.My Daddy's Going Crazy- My favorite TRACK. It's great. I dunno if that's Halle in the song but it's good, really good.

20.Outro- it's funny.. BTW Ken Kaniff is Back.

It's not as serious as MM LP but Em's life hasn't been that serious lately and he projects that in his CD, instead of just making up problems for himself like other rappers would. Eminem snaps off on every song ! It's a great listen. Go get it May 27th.

I'm sorry, but I still think this little punk needs to be put away for A long time. He's basically the product of liberalism, (Debbie Mathers has lived the inner city lifestyle, and now she's payed the price.) and the music industry dosen't want to admit that what they belive in has created this little "monster". Now I'm in favor of the first amendment, but that dosen't give you the right to lower your standards, and rely on shock value to get attention. Eminem can only do this shtick for so long. After A while, it get's old, and he's going have to answer to whatever crimes he's committed if society learns to get tough on troublemakers.

I still don't understand the liberalism part. If anything aren't the chosen lyrics conservative?

He's a product of freedom of speech, end of story. If Eminem's music wasn't good it wouldn't sell, as well as it did. It's not just about the cusses and vulgarities, he's getting stuff off his chest. No one would buy an album full of nothing but cussing, some of it has to have a point and in Em's case it does. Liberalism ? I don'think so, either way he'd still be saying what he wants and if it sounded good to enough people he'd still be rich.

The example used in the "proof" you provided wasn't even as bad as some of the other stuff he said and atleast in that he takes a opoint to say"It's a joke" when Ken Kaniff his made up gay alter ego pops in and says "Amen" in answer to the question Em posed taht can't be said on this board.

before this continues any further---lets keep this a civil topic. I know Eminem is a topic not everyone agrees with, but I know where this will go--lets keep the topic on the CD, not him in general, otherwise this will turn in a topic that'll be closed--and I'm sure none of us want a closed topic on a CD...

to get us back on topic, I will state that I'm not a fan of Eminem, and will not be buying his CD..

On some mix tape, Cannibus basicly compared Eminem to Vanilla Ice (calling him the next vanilla Ice or a vanilla ice wana-b) and thus he gets mentioned 2 times on Em's new CD.

I like Cannibus too, but he seems to start beefs he can't handle... He tried to go head 2 head with LL. What was he thinking ?

I Got It Too (NOT THE BOOTLEG)

And let me tell you, now that I have listened to it, it is unbelievably good. If you like Eminem, you will LOVE this album and should buy it you bootlegging punks! If you don't like Eminem, your opinion probably ain't gonna change.

Anyway, the beats remain tight, the bass lines are spooky like in the last one, but in my opinion, this album is better, and MUCH better for Eminem, because for all but 3 or 4 songs on the album, Em is the producer. Last album, it was mostly Dre and Em/Jeff Bass. Em really shows that he has learned from hanging out with Dre and Mel-Man in the studio and shows his talent as a producer here. Also, his rhymes are unbelievable as always.

Faves from the Album: #3 [Business] NOT "Lets Get Down to Business", #4 [Square Dance] NOT "Doh-C-Doh", #13 [Superman] NOT "You Want Me", #16 [When the Music Stops] NOT "If I", #18 [Til I Collapse] NOT "In 2", and #19 [My Dad's Gone Crazy].

Get the real album....PLEASE. IF not for the music, at least so you get the RIGHT titles for the songs.

i find it funny how eminem is criticized for "shock value", but people love madonna for it. those who think badly of him obviously don't understand him. get to know him. listen to THE MARSHALL MATHERS LP.

I finally heard the first single "Without Me" tonight unedited (along with the rest of the album). I think it is fairly stupid that he resorts to making fun of other people in his song (very overdone and really shows that he is the weak one). The song's beat is actually somewhat catchy so I am sure it is going to be a hit. And since Em's fanbase is highly made up of boys 10 - 13 I hope they buy the Wal-Mart version.

I do not think his music sells because it is good (to whoever said if it wasn't good it wouldn't sell). If it is marketed well it will sell. Em has the same appeal Britney Spears and boybands have, he appeals to the teenage crowd (well except me, Im 19).

I definately criticize Em for his "shock value". The difference between him and Madonna is that Madonna actually has talent and has put out a lot of good albums. Em, has just put out horrible tracks that by saying that it is freedom of speech he gets away with it. I have heard all the Em albums and they do not compare to what Madonna has put out.
There's a light in the distance...

I'm not buying it since I've already gave Em enough when I bought two different versions of the MM LP. Edited and Uncut.

I disagree, I say Em sells because he's good. His second(Commercially released) album sold so well because his first one was so good. Before they even started hyping it, it flew off the shevlves. Em has talent is one of the best rappers, period. Brittany Spears and Boybands WILL, fade along with there looks but Em is going to have his flows forever and because of taht he can come back anytime.

I was into Em back when he was underground and I bought The Slim shady LP based strictly on from what I heard on the tape that my friend sent me, not hype,MTV or commercials.

Em disses because that's what he's good at. It doesn't mean his weak. Much of this album is focused in Halle anyway. And i think it's better that he disses rather than the other alternatives he could take.

And Skip as I already said, I'm getting the Official Album as soon as it's released. I dunno how you got it but it's not coming out here until the 27th. I just couldn't wait, when I saw my friend selling it I had to buy it.

Did anyone hear that thing that Em said in response to bootleggers? I was rolling off my seat. I think it's okay to buy the bootleg as long as you buy the real album.
