How do you define 80s metal? Bands that were started in the 80s, or those who had the most success in that time period? Regardless, my pick is Iron Maiden. Queensryche and Savatage deserve a mention too.
Hmm, depends on your definition. Faith No More started to get big in the 80's - but I prefer their 90's stuff.
Other than that. Skid Row I was into in a major big way - especially the Slaves To The Grind album (again 90's I believe).
However I think you are referring to poddle rock in general which is very much tied to the eighties...
so poddle rock we go for:
Skid Row,
Megadeath
Guns 'N' Roses
Thrash...:
Slayer
Anthrax
Rock..
Faith No More

Bands that started in the 80's and have that metal sound.
i am not totally sure this band started in the 80s becuase its very hard to find anything about them. but my favorite band would be Kryst the konquerer and 2nd would be Guns 'N Roses

Mine would have to be AC/DC. I know that they formed in the 70's, but I'm taking about Brian Johnson, not Bon Scott. Johnson joined when Scott died in 1979. They helped define 80's metal.
metallica rocks
Maiden

Yngwie J. Malmsteen! Alright, you like some great guitar playing. I saw him live and the cocky B****** is incredible!! As for 80s metal...I love Savatage. I've met Doc, and he's a really cool guy. I also like queensrych and Scorpions.
As for current metal, I loveall True metal like Death, Black, Power, Progressive, and Thrash. My current faves are Helloween, Stratovarious, Gamma Ray, Lord Belial, Agathodaimon, Kalmah, King Diamond and Covenant.

My favorite Rock band of all time is definitly AC/DC. They didn't really have a Heavy Metal style of Rock though...more like a Hard Rock style, or a combination of the two. I love their songs...they all sound excelent. I like "Thunderstruck," "Money Talks," and many others...not sure if I like Brian Johnson or Bon Scott better though...although I know I like both of them better than the original lead singer of AC/DC: Dave Evans.

My fave Rock band from the 80's is KISS.

The Lone Gunmen. Harsh Realm. John Doe. Firefly. Boston Public. Wonderfalls. And now MadTV. FOX must DIE!!!!!!
By far, Iron Maiden. They still sound great, and now Bruce is back. One question though: How can y'all forget about Judas Priest???? They rocked. Well, let's all just forget about "Turbo Lover" and "Hot Rockin'". Plus, they still also rock. Queensryche was awesome. And Megadeth will be missed.
Fly Fatass Fly!!!!!!!
Johnson has more or less the same voice as Scott, just raspier.Originally posted by JusticeLeagueLegion
