I gotta go old school & say Dire Strait's Money for Nothing, & Pete Gabriel's SledgeHammer!

They kicked ass for their time, I loved those videos!

I don't watch Much Music (Canada's version of MTV) or any channels like that, but if you were to ask me about anime music videos, these are my favourites:

    Metallica - The Unforgiven (Batman)
    Kid Rock - Cowboy (Trigun)
Weird Al - Jerry Springer (Sailor Moon)

One More Time by Daft Punk and Clint Eastwood by the Gorillaz are great, but I know there are more from the past I can't think of right now that were as great, if not greater.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

    The first music videos--

--appeared in the 1970's on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. Two of the more memorable were Jim Croce's "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and Joni Mitchell's "Big Yellow Taxi" (the streakers at the end running around the gobe particularly stick out in my mind).

I'm with naraht, and I'll add...

    the live-action/animation hybrids of:

    -"Take On Me" by a-HA
    -"Opposites Attract" by Paula Abdul
-"Harlem Shuffle" by The Rolling Stones

Re: "Jerry Springer" set to "Sailor Moon"

So, who's the "crack ho" in the video? (God, I hate that phrase. I'm using it because it's a lyric from the song) Look, I love Al, and he's done some good videos with animation, too ("Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies" comes to mind), but I can't say I liked him doing the "shock jock" kinda thing. I like all his other stuff, though, so put the knives back and lower the pitchforks.

    Sincerely,

    John "Captain Caps" Kilduff

Spumco animated a great little diddy for Bjork. It was pretty sick n' twisted...made very little sense..but it was enjoyable..

My tremendous intuitive sense of the female creature informs me that you are troubled...

Definitely the Gorillaz one for Clint Eastwood, I havent seen the new one though. I thought Pearl Jam's Do The Evolution was a great anime style video as well. And for a different type of animation than you'd expect normally, any and all of Tool's videos, particularly Prison Sex.

I've seen the Gorillaz new one, but not Clint Eastwood...(the new one is the band [I assume] driving around on a highway in what apears to be a post apocolyptic world...)

http://www.animemusicvideos.org has a fairly large list of links to AMVs..
In addition to Jerry Springer, I really like Citizen King's Better Days w/Trigun footage, and Van Halen's Right Now w/Misc. Anime footage.
