its hard to pick a singer from a band because you like the band for their overall sound and not just the singing. if i had to pick, id say henry rollins, quite the oppisate of bono. black flag(i dont really listin to rollins band) isnt my favorite band but henry rollins is so cool by himself in interviews/spoken word, he also has writtinsom great books.

David Byrne, when he was with Talking Heads.

    Great world-punk-funk artists, they were.

But, I agree with Joker..I usually like bands as a whole..however, w/o the vocals..the bands could suck...

    I like

    James Hetfield (Metallica)
    Ozzy Osbourne (Duh)
    Rob Zombie (Another Duh...)
    Spyder (Powerman 5000)

Re: Favorite singer from a band?

    Paul McCartney of Wings, Beatles.
The guy's vocal prowess was just incredible. He was able to capture such a wide range of sound, always pushing his voice to the edge, especially during the 70s with Wings. Given the manner in which he's sung in the past, I'm surprised that he still sounds so good on his latest, "Driving Rain."

If I had to pick a second, it'd be Axl Rose. I've always loved his singing, which to me made Guns 'N Roses.

    Freddie freakin' Mercury (from Queen)!
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

Hey Stinky Cat, if you could hold back on the huge letters we'd appreciate it. I've gotten a few complaints and it's a bit distracting on the thread as a whole. Thanks.

I've always liked Bono from U2, and the lead from Creed. There are probably a few others I forgot to mention, since I'm no good with that "off the top of my head" type of thinking.
