X-Men: E season 2, my word it was actually good.

    Like This Thread!
It dealt with all the intolerance against mutants and the stuff we love. Yes, great stuff.

I was actually a little disapointed with it, I don't know what I was expecting, but I didn't really like it too much...it did get better though near the end of the episode when Lance and Company told everyone about the mutants. I'll keep watching it, it could turn out to be pretty good.

I missed the first 10 minutes, anything good happen then? THe ending was getting pretty good. One thing I dont understand is if Prof X didnt think he completely wiped the principal's mind, why doesn't he go and try to do it again? (I dont know too much about the X-men, so I'm not sure what the limits of P X's powers are)

Darn! I sorta wanted to catch this because of the premiere! So - does everyone know they are mutants now...?

It was okay. I really noticed (and in a positive way) the use of cgi in the soccer scenes. Thot it quite well done.

I agree--why wouldn't Prof X just go back and finish the mind clean up? Since I suspect the new principal to be a mutant of considerable powers, himself, I have the feeling he blocked the mind block and sent a little jolt back to the Prof.

I had fun guessing who all the 'new recruits' were--looked like Bobby (Iceman) might actually be among them. Alright!

Really couldn't see Jean so easily and thotlessly brushing off Scott for this new guy. That had a phony feel to it. And why would Magneto disrupt the airways and block the tv feed? Seems he wants the mutant presence concealed as well. Does look like the season should be a little more interesting than the last one, tho.

Well, they were all revealed because of the Brotherhood, but then Xavier wiped the minds of the people who witnessed the incident, except for their new principal because Xavier blanked out. I would have perfered if their secret was out to everyone.

I think DG as well as me would like to know what happened! Thank you. Sounds like it is getting better.

Why did Jean ditch Scott? Was it because of the Brotherhood incident?

just for a couple of minutes, the show sacked up and actually publicized the that there are mutants and then in "spectacular" fashion, Prof. X wipes out the minds of everyone with an exception of the principal whose memory was only partially erased. if Avalanche reveal who the mutants are before, what is stopping him from doing it again. with Prof. X out of commission, he wipe people's memories again.

I saw the Iceman in there too. He's my favorite character, this makes me happy
This is very similar to the suggestion put forward by the Quirmian philosopher Ventre, who said, "Possibly the gods exist, and possibly they do not. So why not believe in them in any case? If it's all true you'll go to a lovely place when you die, and if it isn't then you've lost nothing, right?" When he died he woke up in a circle of gods holding nasty-looking sticks and one of them said, "We're going to show you what we think of Mr Clever Dick in these parts..."

Actually, the new principal is a younger version of Senator Kelly, the mutant hater. He's no mutant, but i bet this ep is where he started his hatred of them.

I wonder why they gave him a different name. His name in the cartoon isn't Robert. His last name stil is Kelly though.

    XME season II

I gave it a mixed review over at the WBC. The animation is even better--esp. the opening with the girls' soccer game--and the new mutants promise to be interesting if properly used...but writing out Mystique with no explanation (though maybe a future episode will enlighten us) and having Charles mindwipe the whole crowd (which seems to be contrary to his moral code--maybe he didn't have a choice, but I think he should have beaten himself up more about deciding to handle matters that way) were two big sticking points with me. Magneto is also mentioned at the end, and I'm hoping to see more of him this season--maybe explain what drives him so he doesn't come off as just a cardboard villain. Above all he's a very troubled man, and something in his past made him that way. I'm wondering if the writers plan to borrow from comic and other past continuities (loss of his wife, suffering of war, horrors of fascism, etc) or manufacture an entirely different backstory. We can't fully appreciate Magnus unless we know what drives him.

Even the worst shows shoot better than zero for twenty. If you watch a mediocre show religiously, you're bound to hit at least a pretty good episode every now and again.

I think this is done because the character is loosely based on Sen. Kelly and not the character himself.

I don't expect the show to magically take off in quality this season becuase the crew (and network) seem to have found a nice middle ground of mediocracy.

I dunno I have high hopes for Xmen Evolution. It seems that they're taking the show much seriouser than they did last season. And they did explain Mystique's disspearance. In the last episode of last season she was evolved into her stronger ugly state. I dont' remember if she escaped from Asteroid M. I didn't see the entire thing.

She escaped. Her escape pod took off before the explosion. They haven't said why, but I hear they will eventually explain it. I still wonder why Charles has them go to a school where he knows that enemies are residing!
