Is this disc worth buying to someone who just liked the Goblins? The Tombstone/Robbie story was cool in the comics, but I can't remember if I liked the episode. I also can't remember if I like the Spot episode, I don't think I did.

I've never seen The Spot episode in its entirety (saw like the last 3 min?), and I heard it was one of the least broadcast episodes (compared to ones like Rocket Racer, ugh), yet its connected to the Venom/Carnage episode, and of course the Green Goblin. Definitely picking up this disc.
This disc is worth it just for the classic 1967 episode, "The Terrible Triumph of Doctor Octopus". That was one of the best episodes ever.

I think "Turning Point" has A climax similar to The Spider-Man movie (As well as the "Death Of Gwen Stacy" comic) where The Green Goblin takes Mary Jane to the top of A bridge, and has A final show down with Spidey.
I liked this disc much better than the previous one! My major gripe is that the menus are exactly the same as the other DVD - EXACTLY the same, save for the new title and video clips. The disc should use scenes from the episode to form the menus, like the previous disc instead of just reusing images from the first. But I like the episode selection on this disc - very enjoyable!
"Most people spend their whole lives trying to figure out who they are. But for me? It's about keeping it a secret." - Spider-Man
"Why is there so much hatred and bigotry? Why do we hate people who seem to be different than we are instead of enjoying the variety?"- Stan Lee

I saw someone at work pick up this DVD and ask if it was the new movie. Do you think that to a certain extent Disney hopes some people will think this is the movie and buy it by mistake? Like Granny seeing it in the store and saying "Oh this must be that movie little Jeffy wanted to see!" Or something like that.
"You were right, Mr. Kent. I am the villain of the story." --Lex Luthor, Onyx (Smallville)
Are these episodes from the Fox Cartoon? Are these all new toons??
The Fox cartoon from the 90s.

"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." ~ Groucho Marx
The DVD sounds pretty good, since I enjoyed the first DVD I'll most likely be picking up this one soon, I just hope Disney won't be doing like 5-6 of these then come out with full season sets that would tick me off so much. Rogues' Challenge Game -- As Spider-Man, you must battle four villains through city streets in order to rescue Mary Jane was this feature any good? Who were the villians and was it even slightly fun?
"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear." Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826)
Actually, surprise, surprise - I liked the Rogues Challenge game! Normally these features are stupid, because they're simply point-and-click games that pose as being "interactive" (look at the Batman TAS DVD for a good example), but this one worked! The four villains are Doctor Octopus, Chamealon, Green Goblin, and Mysterio, I think. You have to answer three questions about them in order to defeat them and move on.Originally posted by Cogliostro

The fun is not actually rescuing Mary Jane, which is just clips from "Turning Point", but that the trivia questions are pretty good, especially if you're not a big Spidey-fan. They draw from both the animated series and the comic books, and some aren't necessarily mentioned anywhere on the DVD. Even better, if you click on the Stan Lee help icon, his hints aren't blatently obvious - all they do is narrow your choices down by one. My friend and I died the first time, and turned to Stan for help A LOT the second time around. Excellent stuff.
And all around, I like this disc a lot more than the first one, mainly because there are much better episodes. "The Spot" is pretty cool, and I can now verify that this is the first time I've seen that episode in its entirety! All three Goblin episodes are classic. "Guilty" was the one I wasn't sure about, but after watching it again, it's definitely a keeper. Much better than "Attack of the Octobot" and "Rocket Racer".
Will there be another Green Goblin/Hobgoblin themed DVD like thus one?
I hope the mods do not mind me bumping up this thread, but some new Easter Eggs have been found on this set (which is odd considering how old the DVDs are). This info comes from DVD Review:
Has anyone seen these? On their release of 'The Return Of The Green Goblin' from the animated Spider-Man series, Buena Vista Home Entertainment has once again included additional footage for fans to discover.
On the DVD’s Main Menu select the 'Set Up' menu entry and on the follow screen select the 'Captions' menu entry. On the next screen highlight the menu entry 'Set Up' in the lower right corner and then press the 'Up' arrow key on your remote control. If you press 'enter' now you will get to see some interview footage with Stan Lee, telling you about his favorite books.
Back on the 'Set Up' menu select the entry 'Spoken Languages' this time and in the next screen, highlight the 'Set Up' menu entry once again. Press the 'Up' arrow key on your remote control followed by the 'Enter' key and you will see more of the interview footage, this time with Stan Lee talking about his favorite two catch phrases.
Now go back to the 'Set Up' menu once again and highlight the 'Main Menu' entry in the lower right corner. Press the 'Right' arrow button and follow it up by the 'Enter' button to see even more of Stan Lee’s interview.

How the heck do easter eggs go undetected for this long?

What Disney should do is bring the 90s Spider-Man as season DVD box sets.
Hopefully that will be on their "To Do List for 2010", since the X-Men DVD's that they've released in 2009, so far, have been instant best-sellers.
WHOA! It is so weird seeing a picture of a VHS box, with a DVD "rolling" out of it nowadays, considering that VHS is no longer in use for pre-recorded stuff. Of course, I guess that back in 2002 a lot of people were still buying stuff on VHS.
