I'm not going to blow the ending for those who haven't seen it.
I'll just say that this episode is to X-Men as "Tools of the Trade" was to STAS.

also, it was too bad they couldn't use The Joker in opening sequence. That would've ripped. He's the scariest clown of all his kind.

Too bad DC & Marvel don't have joint-titles.

Ok, here's something I never understood, the info description of "Mindbender."

"Jean Grey turns up stealing precious rings with the aid of college students."

Okay, so who is the college student? Mesmero? Apocalypse? It can't be the any of the X-kids. Talk about misleading...

I saw the beginning and got a little bit into it before I got sidetracked and ended up missing the rest. last I saw was Scott getting knocked unconscious with Jean's mind ability. So what happened afterwards, she just stole more rings?

Well, yes.

She leaves the mansion in the X-jet, then comes back later to entrance Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Spike. As a foursome, they steal two more rings, then are finally tracked down to the amusement park. (Rogue remembers the face on the Jack-in-the box as Mesmero). Anyway, Cyclops, Rogue, Professor X, Beast, and Wolverine fight Mesmero and the others to a standstill until Rogue knocks Jean out and breaks Mesmero's spell on her. Professor X tries to get inside Mesmero's head, but something prevents him from doing so. Mesmero escapes with the three rings, which turn out to be part of a key to an ancient doorway. There are two remaining keys to be found (probably in a later ep), and then the force behind the door will be unleashed.

"...And the world will once again tremble at the prescence of...Apocalypse."
