There should be a R2 release. The episodes that are contained are unknown but the synopsis for the discs mentions HOBLGOBLIN so we're in for some good episodes, at least. The disc will contain similair extras to the first aninated Spider-Man DVD release. I'll try and find out some more!!

Cheers Jim. Glad to see Hobgoblin is on it. He is one of my favourite Spider-man villians and every episode he was in was great. Plus Mark Hamill did his voice and you can never go wrong with that.

From my understanding, there hasn't been a region 2 announcement for "Spider-Man: Return of the Green Goblin." If I remember correctly, "The Ultimate Villain Showdown" was released a month after the US release, so the same thing might happen again. This doesn't mean it will or it won't be available in another region, but I thought I share what happened the last time.

Does anyone know the exact episodes that'll be on the disc?

Hey Red Bird, the R2 Version of Spider-man: Return of the Green Goblin has just been announced:

    http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?se...articleId=4805

The following episodes will be on the disc which means we should see the same eps on the R1 disc as well:

    312 The Spot
    313 Goblin War
    314 Turning Point
    401 Guilty

    *Sigh*

Why 'Guilty'? Why? Why not include the episode where Harry becomes the Goblin and MJ returns at the very end. Sure, it'll make no sense with all the plot holes from previous episodes missing, but it'd make more since.

At least we'll get the awesome 'Turning Point' episode on disc.

Heck, even the two part 'The Hobgoblin' episodes at the first would've been better.

I can see why they made the distrobution the way they did: the episode right before The Spot is the two-part Carnage story, so they couldn't put that on, and they wanted to show the Goblin learning Spidey's ID, and it will shw Mary Jane's disappearance. My only gripe is that now we know that if they do indeed release all of the episodes, we won't have them all in order - unless they make the Daredevil disc 6 episodes or release a 2-episode "Venom & Carnage Returns" mini-movie. *Sigh*

Unless they release a Venom DVD which features the Alien Costume 3 parter and the 2 part Carnage story. After they've cashed in on Daredevil and X-men I think character DVDs are next.

The 1967 Classic Episode: Featuring the Green Goblin
Rogues' Challenge Game -- As Spider-Man, you must battle four villains through city streets in order to rescue Mary Jane
    Stan Lee's Soapbox
    Episode Introductions
    Animated Menus
    Spanish Language Track

I will be looking foward to seeing all these features except the Spanish one that one's useless to me. The Rogue's Challange Game got's me really interested. I wonder how well the game will be and I think its safe to say one of the four villains will be the Green Goblin...

I'm guessing it'll be Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kingpin, and probably The Spot (or Tombstone), as they are the villians featured in this disc.

I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility for the Daredevil disc to be 6 episodes. As someone mentioned (perhaps it was in the original Toon Zone news post?), there was no Daredevil episode from the 1967 series. That frees up space for one more episode (so a total of 5) right there. I'm no DVD expert, but I don't think fitting that sixth episode on there should be a problem (what with dual-layering, etc.). After all, they ARE cutting the opening credits for every episode except the first, ditto the closing credits (all except last), and the commercials are obviously gone. IMO they CAN get all 6 on a DVD if they want to. The question becomes: do they want to?

Well, as wary as we all were of Buena Vista before the Ultimate Villain Showdown, They've proven to me that they at least care SOMEWHAT about episode order and keeping fans like us happy. I guess we'll find out for sure when more info becomes available. Until then, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but I think it's safe to say that the Daredevil disc will be make or break for many of us as it regards to our opinion of the Buena Vista Spidey DVDs.

Yes, but this throws episode order out the window, making the Spider-Man DVDs no better than Universal's X-Men releases.

The Spidey ones are a bit better. At least the episodes weren't completely random like on the Universal ones.

The Universal ones were alright. I was a bit dissapointed that there were no extras. But what really peeved me was the fact that there were no chapter stops.

Are Universal planning any more DVDs for the release of X2? Any ideas as to what they might be?

More animated X-Men DVDs are on the way, but whatever episodes will be on the disc remain to be seen. Don't look for any concrete info until January or February.

Thats slightly dissapointing. I was hoping for Spidey VS Green Goblin themed menus.
Did anyone else notice that the classic episode features Dr. Octopus and not the green goblin? Disney messed up there.

    Thanks for the Link Jim.

Does anyone know whether or not this DVD will have easter eggs like TUVS did? It took me a while to find them, and they were a little off topic but still its something extra and thats always a bonus.
