    Marvel Cartoons on Teletoon

    Like This Thread!
I've been skimming through the TELETOON website and stumbled upon some interesting info. It looks like the late-nite 4am timeslot (ugh) will be a rotating block for recent and old Marvel cartoons beginning September 1st. Here's what I got:

    Monday - X-Men
    Tuesday - The Avengers
Wednesday - The Incredible Hulk (likely the classic version)
    Thursday - Silver Surfer
Friday - Fantastic Four (likely the classic version)
    Saturday - X-Men
    Sunday - X-Men

Spider-Man (the classic series) will still air daily at 11:30pm (ET) and 3:30am (ET). And the pattern repeats as so. There is no episode specific schedule yet (grrrr) but the shows are aired in production number order. So - set yer VCRs, folks! Don't worry - I bet Teletoon will give these shows a better timeslot yet.

It's funny... Teletoon adds all the great Marvel toons to their line-up around the same time ABCFamily destroys theirs.

Ahhh, that's good for Teletoon people. Yeah, ABC Family had their chance, and they tossed it away...

Weird, I just got back from reading the The End of Eternity, Part 2 script by Larry Brody from the Silver Surfer toon at tvwriter.com. It's very good. Why couldn't Saban and Marvel just get along ? Season 2 was shaping up to be a must-see season, especially the return of the Fantastic Four.

Oh, well, what could have been... Later.

It's not Saban's fault... Marvel had no money to fund a second season because their accounts were tangled up in bankruptcy. Saban even put up the money for the last 6 episodes of Xmen, just to give the series an ending.

    Too bad really.

My personal favorite was Fantastic Four. I'd kill to see that cartoon again in new episodes or just reruns....

Not only did Fox fund the final six episodes but they had also ordered a second season for Avengers - although this was never produced due to the closure of Marvel's animation studio.

The Silver Surfer was constantly shuffled about on Fox Kids line-up and many of them were only shown once (sound familair to any Zeta Project fans?). I don't think Fox planned on renewing Silver Surfer even if Marvel had been able to continue - considering the way they treated the show and from what some of the staff on the show have said - Fox didn't care to continue the series. It's a shame to because Silver Surfer was easily one of the best Marvel toons done and was a truly enjoyable series.

I thought Silver Surfer was an amazing series. I loved the design. The CGI Galactus was something to Behold! The good thing about this is that I can finally tape the Adam Warlock episode and retape the 'Galactus dieing' episode I messed up on. I heard a rumor that the recent Hulk cartoon, as well as the Spider-Man and Spider-Man Unlimited will be heading to the Canadian Family channel, so I can pick up those. I'd like to see all these Marvel shows their, actually. The shows air commercial free on Family although we have ti put up with ten minute of weird intersitials and 2 - 3 minute shorts.

Sorry to bump up such an old topic, but I'm curious about something. Hey Jim, are they still doing this Marvel thing on Teletoon? I'd like to catch some of this stuff. I have the Teletoon West channel so I could catch this at 7am or 8am in the morning. Much better than 4am or 5am!

Also, where can I find out about Silver Surfer's abandoned second season? I liked that show!

Check out Larry Brody's page for it...

He's got background info and an ep guide for season 2's first 8 episodes.
