Today's second episode of Spidey on ABC Family featured the episode "Return of the Green Goblin" in which Harry Osborn dons the Goblin mask while the Punisher goes after Peter Parker while investigating the dissappearance of Mary-Jane.

I liked the episode overall, and it was one of the few I hadn't seen (the other being "Wedding"). I did find it kind of strange of Norman/Green Goblin I led Harry to the mask and such, and that he could somehow see him through the time dilation accelerator portals....The best part was probably Harry going insane near the end, just breaking out into a giant grin (similar to the Joker's victims in "The Laughing Fish"...). It was creepy to see Harry when he returned with the Punisher to Peter's house.

On a side note, I think it was pointed out in another thread, but WHY would Anna Watson invite the Punisher into her home for some tea..."Oh, you look like a pleasant fellow, what with that skull, arsenal of weapons, trenchcoat, and the fact that you're hiding out in a cemetery." And the Punisher just "wants to do some good." Right. So, he decides to trust some random woman that says she doesn't trust a college student. Okay, a little bit of a stretch, if you ask me...

    Anyone else have comments?

I really liked this episode, although how Anna Watson could remain so calm, and eventually give the Punisher coffee, is beyond me. This is a huge 40 year old guy with a dark suit and a skull on this chest wearing a huge trenchcoat. That's not exactly all that inviting to me. We got to see some sweet action in this episode, though! This episode is actually the kick start for alot of upcoming storylines that eventuall ylea dinto the series finale - which I can't wait to see rerunned again.

Sorry for the delay in posting this. This is the episode where Harry became interesting.

It was baffling. Her characterization was one of the few things that bugged me about the show. Any logic was thrown at the door as long as she was mad at Peter. This episode is a nice little example.

It was cool to see Harry & Peter battle it out.To me This episode was writing well, They made How harry becomes the second Green Goblin way better than how the comic wrote it.

With The Punisher out on DVD, I thought it'd be fun to bump up an episode featuring the vigilante. And with this episode the only Punisher episode on DVD at the moment, I thought this would be a fine pick.

We all know they couldn't stay 100% true to his character with all the limitations on the show but do you think he was handled well considering? Or should they have just not used him? When he's thrown into episodes like this it does make me wonder if they used him right at all.

They were damned from the start. Without him killing, he's simply not The Punisher. Simple.

He was an interesting character in his own right, in this episode moreso than his original appearance, but if I were a hardcore Punisher fan, which I'm not, I could see me being pretty pissed off with this portrayal.

Aside from The Punisher's appearance in this episode and Anna Watson being so calm with him I think this episode will be well known as the one that kicked off the eventual Mary Jane/Goblin-in-limbo subplot. I wonder if this was planned since the "Turning Point" episode. We all knew she was going to return but like this?

There are also some great new screen shots up on the website.

I was just watching this episode the other day on The Return Of The Green Goblin DVD, and it is a pretty good episode showing Harry's downfall after his father was lost in the alternate dimension.

Plus you could tell that Lwaxana Troi had decided to show up in Spider-Man to berate Peter. (Excellent casting choice!)
