There was also this episode that had the fantastic four in. It was pretty good.
I was reading the, "Terry's Strongest" thread and it got me thinking about how similar BB villains are to Spider-Man villains. Maybe it was unintentional, but it seems unlikely to me. Just look at the comparisons:
Blight is very similar to the Green Goblin,
Shriek is very similar to the Shocker,
Drek is very similar to Kraven,
Spellbinder is very similar to Mysterio,
and Inque is very, very, very similar to venom.
Forgive me if this has been posted before.

I just don't see a similarity between Blight and Green Goblin. Care to explain that one? And who's Drek? I don't remember him.
I'll agree that Spellbinder is similar to Mysterio, and Inque (if I really, really, really stretched my imagination) is similar to Venom (only not).
But I will say that Stalker is incredibly similar to Kraven.
Well you are forgiven () but I see the similarities moreso between Batman villains myself. For example, I never really connected Inque and Venom together at all until right now as I think about their costume colors.
But I guess I can see the Blight/Green Goblin thing because the way I think of it, I've always called the Green Goblin Spiderman's "Joker" and I've called Blight Terry's "Joker." Ya know, like main personal arch enemy type deal.

Blight is even more similar to the Green Goblin when you consider that they are both corporate tycoons who fell victim to their own scientific experiments. And they are both green.
I can only assume that he meant "Stalker" when he typed "Drek."
And Inque is somewhat similar to Venom in appearance, but even more similar to SANDMAN in regards to powers.
Are there anymore? False Face and the Chameleon perhaps?

Well, I'm pretty sure the hunter in that one episode had the last name of,"Drek", but I could be wrong.
And when I said Inque was similar to venom, it's because of the "substances" that make their costumes. Both are made of a dark, living goo that can morph. I suppose you could compare her to Venom, Carnage, Sandman, Hydro Man, etc but it shows how repetitive Spider-Man's foes can get.

In the episode "Speak No Evil", the hunter after Fingers the Gorilla was named Van Dyle, if that's who you are thinking about. However I think Stalker and Kraven share more similarities which actually proves your point even more.Originally posted by Two-Face

You guys are forgetting the most similar character of all: Terry.
Terry and Peter are so much a like when fighting crime. Is there anyone there that disagrees on this?

Technically Inque doesn't have a costume, what you see is what you get. I guess you could say that Inque has more in common with the symbiote itself than to Venom as a whole.Originally posted by Two-Face

I had never really thought about the similarities between Terry's Batman and Spiderman before until the episode with the Fantastic Four parody/tribute.
There is a scene where Terry is "crushed" by some building debris and is forced to struggle and lift it off of himself. The debris is like a big "X." This is a direct nod/tribute to a classic Spidey story where Spidey lifts the same "X" off of himself.
Plus, they both have the same "teenager as superhero" vibe.
Not to open a new can of beans, but has anyone noticed how similar the Clonetroopers are in Attack of the Clones to the white armor-clad guards in the first three episodes (more?) of Batman Beyond?
Heh. I remember a post on the old boards when Rebirth premiered and someone (I forget who) said that they liked Power's Stormtroopers.Originally posted by MatchesMalone

The Royal Flush Gang rode on cards, similar to Goblins riding on gliders.
Derek Powers is similar to Kingpin (as in they both organized crime, though Kingpin to a greater extent than Powers).
The guy from "Earth Mover" is similar to Sandman (though Sandman could only control his own body).
Vermin and the Rat Boy.
Were there any telepaths in Spider-Man?
The closest match for Doc Ock would be Willie Watt/Golem, if only because they both had their minds fused with a machine.
There's probably somebody similar to Armory (lots of weaponry).
And on the theme of Star Wars, don't forget the Sentries of the Last Cosmos!
This just goes to show how the super villain powers are slightly limited. Sometimes it's the villain's background story that makes him/her distinctive (e.g. Inque and Venom are very different).

Lots of these points are pretty good, others are stretching. (btw I can think of at least one telepath from Spidey, Madam Web) The truth is it is tradition for comics to borrow from eachother. I would say that Inque is a shapeshifter, she's unique in certain ways, but they are comonplace in the world of comics, Spidey has no monopoly on them. The same thing is true of the corperate tycoon / crime boss, Lex Luthor anyone. My point here is that while BB's concepts were not always 100% original, no comic universe ever is. BB makes his world unique with style, style, style. everything, especially character designs, was very sleek in the future, creating a very original universe, even if it was one with talking apes, Terrific Trios, "Most Dangerous" game hunters, psychics and shapeshifters.
