Okay, I pulled this off an interview at comics continuum.

------------------------------
"But that doesn't mean we're shifting our series out of Bayville High and into the world of Marvel crime-fighters and superheroes. There was only one Sentinel, and it was a prototype. When it was destroyed, it shut down the program, and there are no more in the pipeline. "

"Our characters will still be attending school, still dealing with their burgeoning powers, and still living life as teens -- only now they're doing it with more of a hostile backdrop. With so many new ingredients, we're cooking up a pretty exiting third season."
------------------------------

Personally, I find this disturbing as it sounds very much like they're retreating to business as usual, even though half the team was captured by the Sentinel. Shut down the program? The program was just getting started and a mere demolished robot wouldn't stop Trask for a second.

I'm desperately afraid they'll do a quick gloss-over rescue episode at the start of the season that reverts everything to "normal."
