MORE bad news for spidey fans

I know some of you wanted to show defiance to Disney's Ultimate Villan Showdown....as did I (and I still will)....but it is now ranked #66 in amazon's tops 100 selling DVDs....that's enough to make Disney make another one fo the abysmally horrid discs...

I was able to get a copy of the DVD nearly a week before its official release date. Click here to read my review.

ARGH!!! What's so dang-blasted difficult about releasing tv shows in broadcast order, completely uncut? While the 90's spidey tv show isn't as high-quality as Batman (TAS, TNBSA, etc.) it still deserves to be treated properly. I won't be buying this atrocity.

I agree that they should release the Spider Man episodes in the correct order, but the Ultimate Villian Showdown DVD isn't all that bad. It's actually quite good.

66 isn't really that bad, considering how many DVDs there are out there...

From what I can tell Disney actually listened to the fans (surprising I know) and reconsidered doing the "all new, animated feature" that had initially been considered. Instead they used the "Make a Wish", "Attack of the Octobot", "Enter the Green Goblin" and "Rocket Racer" - from the Sins of the Fathers story arc with these being Chapters 2,3,4 and 5.

I wrote a review of the disk that can be found here and the official talkbalk thread is here.

I hope that you'll reconsider not buying this disk as Buena Vista did a great job with it and with enough sales we could see more Saban/Marvel properties get the highly coveted DVD treatment.

Joe, you just made my day! I will definitely be getting this now, as I had no idea that they changed the format from a chopped up amalgamation "film" into a 4 episode release. Granted, they could have started with ep 1 and released the first 5 (or 10 ) eps on a disc, but this is the next best thing. Thanks for the info, it is much appreciated.

Ah, but if they only had put out a season set. Three or four discs would be affordable, and would have been a contender with Transformers in sales. Thank God Rhino knows what they are doing, and here's to hoping they can teach others.
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.

I agree 100% - I would have loved to have seen a season set and would have gladly forked out an extra $20 or $30 to have it. For the moment though I am just happy to finally see a Spidey: TAS DVD. Hopefully Disney and WB will see how succesful the Transformers Season Sets are and make their own for properties like Spider-Man: TAS, X-Men TAS, Silver Surfer, B:TAS, S:TAS, BB, Static Shock, Zeta Project, X-Men Evolution and Gargoyles.
