I agree with this. By capturing Wasp what Doom did was give himself a cover. Now he just looks like he's doing random supervillain-esque stuff instead of collecting data. Reed would be right that Doom is wasting his time on brilliance on this, that is, if Reed was actually correct. But Reed is not. Doom has an ulterior motive and that may result in a highly uncomfortable alliance down the line.

On a side note, Doom is a master of the curbstomp battle. But I guess you don't get to where he is without knowing how to do that. He even smacked the Hulk around and not many people in comics can say they can do that (I think Susan Storm did throw Red Hulk around in the comics once so it's getting more common though).
