I just spent my extra money for the summer on complete series DVD sets of Buffy and Angel, so I'm also going to have to hold off on these Marvel releases till Aug./Sept.

From the packaging design I saw, and from what I've heard about the few copies that hit the shelves, Spider-Man '67 was always going to be released in season form. Certainly the first box said 'complete series one' I believe.

As for Fantastic Four '78, my guess is it'll be out a month or two after these current releases are out. I think Prawnsoda said that The Incredible Hulk '96 will be one of the last releases as most of it was available already, but then Fantastic Four was half complete in HMV and totally complete thanks to eBay and Amazon sellers so who knows?

I have a good feeling that all these releases will come out. I strongly suspect Clear Vision are bigger than Liberation. They've been releasing wrestling DVDs for an eternity.

Warner Home Video has confirmed that they currently will not be releasing any further X-Men: Evolution DVD titles in the future, including X-Men: Evolution: The Complete Fourth Season. Please note this can change in the future. A representative for Warner Home Video also stated that it is possible that the X-Men: Evolution: The Complete Fourth Season listing on Amazon (here) is something that Amazon themselves is posting on their own and facilitating.

    Stay tuned for further updates.

What exactly is the problem with this release... did WB state why they are so reluctant to bring a Season 4 set out?

What were the sales of the previous DVD sets like?

They have had plenty of opportunities...

While this is disappointing news it's also not a surprise. If fans apparently didn't buy the third season collection no wonder WB won't go ahead with a fourth season collection. Hopefully when the rights revert completely to Marvel they will get someone else to release it.

That's the problem with Amazon, they have a happy knack of listing titles regardless of whether they'll ever see the light of day. It's really no surprise.

Does anyone know whe X-M:E season 3 sold so badly? I wonder if it was because people were waiting for a complete series boxset, because they didn't think 4 would come out anyway so wouldn't get 3 or if the general public just wasn't interested in owning the show?

Yeah. Amazon use to list titles that people wanted even if they hadn't been given any indication that it would be released. Before Lucasfilm had even mentioned putting Star Wars on DVD, Amazon had a listing for it. Same thing with Seinfeld. Back then, though, they claimed that by pre-ordering it, it would be a good gauge for a studio to know that they needed to release it.

Since Marvel is showing X:E on Marvel.com, I can't help but think they may have gotten the rights to it back. I can't see them having agreed to let WB have the lifetime rights to the cartoon.

Well, Amazon had better be releasing it themselves, then...

Guys, Amazon does this all the time. They put out a mailing list for DVDs they think will eventually be put out. There is no prepayment option, or ordering option of any kind. It's just a notify list if and when it becomes available.

Yeah, but the funny thing about Amazon listing it is that they are just doing it now! And how long has it been since Season 4 has been over!? One would have thought this should have been listed for at least a year or two, but it just popped up last week, which is why so many people were thinking Hey, it must be finally coming out!

AMAZON still has listings for SPIDER-WOMAN single volumes when they were owned by liberation...And they are still up even though the NEW Clear Vision one is up too...Same goes for FF '78, Hulk 90's season 2 & complete set, Original Spider-Man # disc...etc..

So just because it's listed doesn't mean it will ever see the light of day, ESPECIALLY on AMAZON!

I'm not sure how the whole 'rights issue' works but I should think that WB own the rights to distribution. Only they can chose to license it out to a third-party.

Universal own the 70s Doctor Strange, Captain America movies and annoyingly for our US friends, the Doctor Who TV movie. No matter what the BBC is trying to do, they seem reluctant in releasing it, officially there's no profit in it, they were asking a rediculous figure to license it back to rights originator the BBC.

Personally I'd love an offical release for the 90s Captain America and Fantastic Four movie. We keep getting tempted here in the UK with Cap, but like Liberations cartoons it gets a date, gets delayed, gets a date...

Play claim to have the title in stock
