Did anybody else watch this one? Man, it was a REALLY great episode!! I liked how they used the religious aspects, complementing the story without being preachy. Liked Rogue going after Magneto. And there were some genuinely moving moments in this one, too.

Hopefully soon they'll let Beast be the focus of another episode.

Dude! I honestly felt this was one of THE-BEST episodes ever! That was so excelent. I've already watched it twice! hehe! ANGEL!

BTW, now that the entire ORIGINAL X-Men team has been on the show, don't you guys think it'd be cool in Toy Biz released an "X-Men Evolution CLASSICS" 5 pack? It'd probably work best as a Toys R Us exclusive, but just think..
Cyclops, Jean, Angel, Beast, IceMan(Or..is he "IceBoy" right now?), all decked out in their Evolution suits? eh?

This one was actually one of the better ones...in the troubled times of the last 3 months I think we're all looking towards God and religious imagery...from devil's faces in the clouds over the Trade Towers to two griders in the rubble forming a cross. People cling to symbols like drowning men to driftwood.
My favorite bit was the ending, with the teens spending times with their families (esp. the revelation that Kitty is Jewish!). Although I would've liked to see Magnus' holiday and how he spends it--his wife is (in mainstraim continuity) dead, and she was pregnant with the kids when she left him years ago. Perhaps, to humanize him, we see Eric Magnus Lensherr staring wistfully at Magda's picture, seated in his parlor in his armchair, crying a bit....
Watch for the bit where Kurt tries to sneak a kiss off Kitty and winds up smooching another guy on the cheek! I would have had Dog-Girl (in canine form) slurp him right on the lips...hope she doesn't drink out of the toilet....
People drop symbols in disdain if they don't pay off just as fast as they grab on to them in despair, and Magnus knew it--see how the people on the bridge turned against him when they thought he knocked Hayley to her near-death on the bridge. Of course it was The Master of Magnetism who did it, manipulating the metal in the cars and on the broken support cable.
His power has progressed far beyong playing with paperclips--Magneto desecrates a church by tearing studs out of the walls and hurling candlesticks off the tables.
Plus it was nice seeing Rogue making excuses to be near Scott, under the pretense of boredom (and Jean acting like a jealous little brat)...and Scott's story about his belief in guardian angels after he thought Alex died in the plane crash. Her best scenes are sucking off Magneto's power and when she realizes that Warren is the angel after a fether flutter's out of his white coat.
Logan appears briefly, but speaks volumes. He's glad to see his youth go (though admittedly he's forgotten ninety percent of it), and he opts to spend the holidays alone rather than with his "family" at Charles'.
Beast is, like myself, at heart an academic, whose idea of joy is upgrading Cerebro and quoting literature...but it was nice to see him and Charles enjoying a drink in the parlor, sharing a quiet moment.
Warren Worthington, for all his wealth, feels empty, I'd guess, and seeks philanthropy for both public acceptance and personal fulfillment...but his heroism poses a threat to the ignorant masses and to Xavier's cause. The end where Rogue asks if he'll join them and Scott's flat "no" tells us that if he isn't going to be one of them, at least he won't be against them. Better than than a hackneyed story about a sunshine X-Man who goes sour like Boom-Boom or Avalanche.

I really liked this episode, arguably one of the best, if not the best. Admittedly it was kind of "fluffy," but I thought it was a very sweet story through and through, and the Magneto fight was pretty cool too. I really liked the part at the end where they were cycling throgh the characters to see how they were spending their holidays. The snow fx were very eye candy. Poor Rogue, I just know her and Scott isnt ever going to work out.

I, too, thought that this epsiode was one of the best so far. The Magneto fight scene was very cool and the music for that scene was a definite plus! I wish I could have taped it so I could listen to that little bit over again!

    I thought it was okay.
I was glad that they showed Kitty being Jewish, and everyone elsedoing their thing but what about Wolvie??
He's just playing pool all by his lonesome.
Which is why I have a strange question, what religon does Logan follow?

Infact in one ep. of the X-men on Fox, when Nightcrawler was frist introduced at the very end Logan was like praying (?)!
Has anyone seen this episode?? Am I imagining things?
Is there an X-Men ep. list??

    Thanks!

Yeah, Kurt gets Logan to goto Church...it did happen. As to Logan's religion, your guess is as good as anyones/ He's lived an afully long time, and had mega mind troubles (brain washing chip etc.)

Oh, yeah, the Kitty thing....the main reason it was shown I'm sure is cause they don't want the Jewish kids getting all pissy that there was no Hannukah stuff on the show.

--I thought Kurt would be Jewish, being raised by German parents (although his birth parents are Mystique and an unnamed German nobleman). In the Fox series, he was a monk, rather like Martin Luther...does Judiasm have monks? And why do I find the thought of a Jewish Valley girl funny?
Logan seems to be a man who turned his back on God a long time ago, or believes He turned on him. I don't know what denonimation the church he prayed at was, but I'm sure God doesn't mind where he chose to do so as long as he was sincere.
And I sympathize with Rogue. Too much makeup and Texas accent aside (she's supposed to be a Louisana girl), she's one of my favorite characters, and has been way before the Evolution days. I don't mind her being so awkward and less sexy--she was that way in the early comics too--but the mascara is a bit overkill, like a little girl playing dressup with Mommy's stuff....

Do you NOT read the comics?

Kurt is an ordained something or other..
And no...we don't have Monks, or Priests (anymore), Ministers, Pastors, or anything. Just Rabbis.

Could someone PLEASE tell me what happened after Warren saves Rogue and she says "Maybe you really are an angel?" My VCR cut off right there. I nearly put my fist through the wall.

Well Scott tells Warren the perks of the institute, however Scott knows Warren wont check it out. They go back to the hospital, they find out the girl woke up and will be ok. Warren is happy. Everyone leaves the hospital and they cycle through images of how each of the X-men members are spending there xmas. Pokemon runs long! X-Men ended at about 11.02 or 11.03.

I don't know for sure(because I can't stand to sit through an entire episode..), but I think PokeMon runs long because so many advertisers try to buy commercial time during PokeMon. Whenever I tape The Mummy, & X-Men, after the Mummy, there is some time left over on my Timer, so I end up recording 3 minutes of pokemon...which is more like the 30 second theme, & 2 1/2 minutes of commercials, before it cuts off in the middle of a commercial. Then my timer usually comes back on, during commercials, then finishes PokeMon. Stupid Pokemon...grr...

But, by now, I think its safe for everyone to just, simply, set your VCR to record it at least 5 minutes over the norm. Its the only safe way(and I think most of us have learned this from experience)

    Anyway....

Has anyone seen/have pictures of the new X-Men Burger King toys? I saw a bid come up on Ebay today, but they were all in packages, so I couldn't see the actual toys. It'd be nice if these figures were 5" tall, & articulated(remember the Batman Beyond Toy promotion? Jet Pack Batman was 6" tall, had action features, was articulated, & looked a heck of a lot better than the Hasbro figure), then I'd have a Rogue for my collection!
Anyone else buying the oh-so-sweet X-Men evolution toys? I just wish they'de release Avalanch, Quicksilver, Rogue, & Kitty! grrr! Hopefully those 4 will be the 4th wave. That'd be sweeeet!

Hey, I'm new to this forum thing, and I was just wondering, if anyone knew when On Angel's Wings would repeat...I can't believe I missed it. I had Toys for Tots, from 6am to 11am that Saturday and totally missed it. I'm so obsessed with the show, that I even tried calling my house to see if someone would tape it for me, but of course no one did. So now I'm dying to see it, also what did they preview for next weeks episode? Thanks!

Hey thanks! Though I'm cross that I have to wait 15 days, or a half a month, to see it! I think I'm going to set my VCR from now on so that I will never be Xmen-deprived again. I know that WB was playing the same episodes over and over and over and over...but that was better than just one episode a week. If you ask me it would be best if the 3:30 timeslot changed each day or something so that if you're not big on one cartoon, it wouldn't be on every single day. Actually the only Kids WB cartoon that gets on my nerves is pokemon and that's only because it plays all the time! Plus I'm just a nut for Xmen, and Batman...obvoiusly I love super-heros...ok right, now I'm just talking to try to escape homework, but you know what, I need to get this crap done, so once again, THANK YOU!

    Mickey

Oh and btw, is this easier to read?

I will sooooo be getting all 8 toys. They look pretty cool, and they come with a CD!
But there is a Mystique and Magneto, my reasons for loving these toys so much.

Too bad we must wait until January for their release...

Saturday "On Angel's Wings" aired so lets review. it. I'm sorry for posting this thread so late. I loved this ep! I always liked angel and i think his persona is dead on in this. The romance triangle between Scott,Jean, and Rogue is very interesting. I wonder how will this end? The battle between Angel,Cyclops,Rogue, and Magneto was GREAT. Does anyone besides me wanna see Angel join the X-team on the next season?
