x-men no question about it unless if this show shapes up...
That all depends on who's on the x-men. If its the right team, then X-men. If its the wrong team, then JL. For example:
Pheonix, Prof. X, Wolverine, Cable, Rogue, Storm, Gambit etc. are the majoer heavy hitters. If enough of them were on the team then the JL is in trouble.
Ultimately though it depends on how you want to write the darn thing. Either way you could justify it. (personally Id like to see them KO each other.)
So if I had to do it I'd pick...
Cable to counter Martain Manhunter
Wolvie to counter Batman
Rogue to counter Wonder Woman
Pheonix to counter Superman
Iceman (mostly cuz he's my favorite superhero but also) to counter GL.
Archangel to counter Hawkgirl
Gambit to counter Flash
...And Id have it end up a draw... its open to interpretation though.

That's the key right there. It's going to come down to who takes out who first. Whichever team makes a big move first is going to win.Originally posted by Dark Knight

It easily could be written for the JL to win. For God's sake Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman are strong enough to move the moon or small planets. However it could be easily written for the Xmen to win using Prof X's telepathy.
X-Men, if Rogue touches Superman or Green Latern its over.
She would get an overload of power from superman. Something bad happens to her if that happens, but I don't remember what...Originally posted by Frank White

That only happens when she touches bad guys, plus she has better control over her powers now.
Yeah you're thinking of the god forsaken fox kids cartoon where every time rogue touched practically anyone or any time jean used telepathy, there was some huge energy overload and either Rogue went nuts, or Jean fainted pathetically (and a lot of times prof. X had the same deal.)Originally posted by Frank White

But yeah she has a lot more control in the comics now and she could potentially absorb all 7 leaguers ablities and stay in control. And even if they were villains she could still handle it (unless they were MEGA powerful evil folks like Apocholypse, Darkseid, Thanos, etc. I would imagine.)

Would Rogue be able to absorb the power of Green Lantern? The power resides in the ring, not the person. I wasn't aware that Rogue could tap into "artificial" power sources.Originally posted by Frank White

Although this is true of their comic book versions, the characters (thankfully) in JL seem to be no where near that power-level.Originally posted by Tim Drake

If we're talking comic book versions, then, the X-Men wouldn't stand a chance (without Phoenix/Dark Phoenix). Even every past & present member of the X-Men combined wouldn't be able to take on the Big 7 -- DC simply builds their characters to a powerlevel that Marvel doesn't match.
If we're talking about the cartoon version, it would be a closer match. But I still think the edge goes to JL

I disagree. The X-Men and most of marvel's superheroes Id say are pretty much as built to last as DCs.Originally posted by Crimson

Jean Grey (code named Pheonix) without the pheonix force is at least as powerful as Superman, but in totally different ways. Supes and Co. (not even Martian Manhunter in my opinion) aren't on her level of telepathy and they wouldnt stand a chance to a psychic assault not to mention the incredible telekinetic ablities she has. Rogue has unlimited potential since shes already at least as strong and fast as Wonder Woman and can absorb and duplicate anyone and everyones abilities with a single touch. Wolverine's healing factor makes him nearly impossible to KO and his combat skills are pretty damn near unmatched (Batman I assume would be a match for him, But I think Batman's a match for everyone) Cable is as strong telepathically and telikenikally as Jean, plus he's a top notch soldier and a military expert who could give John Stewart a definate run for his money, or as long as we're talking about bad-@#$ men of color, Bishop could absorb anything GL could throw at him and channel it back worse. Storm could give any of the JLers a run for their money (she'd certainly be 50 times more dangerous than the freakin wheather wizard.)
I could go on but I dont have the time at the momentl. Occationally you see the x-men poorly written and underestimated (For instance Grant morrison's recent take on them leaves a lot to be desired from me.) Read anything by Chris Claremont and you'll see the X-men living up to their reputation and more. Overall the X-men are as powerful as the JL. So comics or cartoon, Id still have them tie.

>X-Men Vs. Justice League
Humm!
I used to read X-Men in the 80's and early 90's, I haven't read lately. I have never wached the cartoons except for the "Pryde of the X-Men" one shot. The way I remember it Rougue couldn't use her power to absorb other peoples powers because she would absorb their psychees as well. She had one or two other people absorbed already and had to concentrate too keep them at bay and not go schitzo. She couldn't handle one more so she couldn't use this power, thus the gloves. Am I right at all about this?
Anyway, about the X-Men vs JL question, I would really have to know exactly who was on each side to give a real answer. Generally they are evenly mached, the outcome would depend on strategy and luck.

I think we need some qualifying here before we discuss anything further. Are we saying the X-Men: Evolution team against the animated Justice League? If so JL would have an easy time kicking the butts of these little kids. If you're talking the JLA comic team, I think they can safely defeat any team. I think the most even match would be the old Fox animate X-Men team against the animated JL, but I still think JL would win.
Yeah thats pretty accurate for that era of the X-men Id say. But nowadays she has a LOT more control. She can take on multiple psyches/powers at a time and keep her own psyche in control. While she still can't touch people without absorbing their abilities (hence needing the gloves and full body suit just to keep from accidentally hurting people) when she has to it's generally not a hard for her to remain in control anymore.Originally posted by Mattashell

Some cool instances where she absorbed lots of powers at once and kept in control were when she absorbed Colossus, Nightcrawler, and Wolverine to chase, stop, and disarm a nuclear missile; and when (granted the Brood Queen had taken control of her mind but it was still her powers) when during "Contest of Champions II" she absorbed spiderman, Captain America, Pheonix, Scarlet witch, hulk, and Thor and all the other marvel people had to take her down.
Look to Chris Claremonts more recent take on Rogue and you'll see a Rogue who's more than a match for any of the JLers (comic or cartoon.)
But again, it depends on how you wanted to write a JL vs. X-Men. Thats the version of Rogue I'd use but if you wanted to play down her powers then it would be easy to have her KOed.

I'm saying I think of it like this, Rogue and the Parasite have the same powers and Superman can BARELY beat the Parasite. Also the parasite can't fly, and doesn't have super strength or invunrablility. But anyway yeah the Rogue on the FOX show was lame, she NEVER used her absorbing power. And when she tried she was dumb enough to try it on Apocalypse or Magneto.
LOL. J'on and Xavier just sit back and watch in shame at the pointless fighting. For in the Future they see evveryone joining together over a pizza hut stuff crust, with pepperoni.

Nice Picture.
I think, Supes would just have to take on rogue. Simply put, no matter how many things she absorbs, she still has to take down, SUPERMAN. And while I wont dumb down her powers, the fact is it's a task for her, fully powered up, to take down Superman alone, not to mention every JL'er.
I look towards the books, I dont like contemplating on show's those are only small points of the true characters.
And we're talking Superman, who had to kill, Doomsday, Superman. He has fought invulverable beings before. I think all the Marvel chracters mentioned, like Thor, Phoenix, Hulk, are all physical matchup's for Supes, capable of a good long fight. The only real obstical i see for the JLA, would be the threat of Rogue with absorded abilities of every character on earth, or Phoenix. And I think the Only way for JLA to beat either of those would be, a combination of Superman, and Martain Manhunter. Both with high Levels of Super strength, and one with great psychic powers. Both can Restrain any physical threat, while J'on, will attack the mind.
Other than that the rest of the X-men are outpowered. And I would'nt count Bishop worthy for this battle, I've seen Batman take him out pretty easily.
FLIPMODE IZ DA SQUAD!!
I like the FOX Kids Rogue. She's not all that powerful, but she's still strong.
