Anyone else think we just saw the T:P version of Ravage?
"No man escapes the Manhunters!"
MAN! I can't help but get into the story, and then all of a sudden: "to be continued" GRRRRR! I'm sorry, but Transformers: Prime is without question my favorite cartoon on television.
I got a good laugh out of the Star Wars reference.
"Burning Man"? I think you mean "Burning Urethra" -- that place is a massive colony of venereal diseases being nurtured by their human servants. -zombie
I was just thinking that. In fact, I was expecting him to report about a "slight weapons malfunction".
It was really sad to see Arcee like she was when reutrning to their abandoned homeworld with Jack.
And now thanks to Starscream, Orion is putting the pieces together. He is a libraian, after all.
Loved it. That thing at the end was either an insecticon or ravagae (I'm thinkin insecticon because it transformed). My favorite part was ratchet's reaction to the gym speech, always wanted to hear someone react like that to an inspirational speech. Starscream was also great, definitely remedies my distaste for his appearance last episode but this better mean scream is no longer working with megatron.
Been watching this series on and off since it started, but I recently got caught up on all the episodes watching them with my son, and we're hooked! Excellent series! Can't wait for the blu-ray of season one. It's only been two episodes of season two so far, and they've both been great. Can't wait for the next episode! I just hope we eventually get to see some more classic robots pop-up this season -- maybe Ravage, Rumble and Frenzy (I always loved Soundwave's deployed minions).
Lovin' it.
Vegas...now??
I still like Animated better, but...just WOW.![]()
Wow --- this series really grew its beard in the last couple of episodes. I really cant help feeling a sense of awe with the acting and PERFECT instrumental compliment to the series so far.
I really want to drill this in for all the would be good games and good animated series (heck even TV series and movies in general) ---- THIS SHOW is showing how to really use music to it's absolute advantage.
The writing and choreography in this episode was superb too.
Man --- Jeff Kline at the helm of this series was absolutely the best decision Hasbro could have made. I was a big fan of series he helmed in the past, but the last few episodes of this series is really some of his best work.
Is it me or is it a little too convenient thatOptimusOrion broke the Deception encoding with so little trouble for the sake of the big reveal for him? To me it'd be more compelling and less contrived for his trust to break down solely because of his interactions with other characters; the doubt was already building nicely that way. We may not even see a I-know-you're-in-there-somewhere fight with the Autobots. Megatron did quite a job spinning Starscream's unexpected appearance, though.
Yeah...after this Starscream's definitely going to be on the run for a very, very long time.
The visit to Cybertron was nicely done. I liked how Jack was awed by it even in its horribly decrepit state, and Arcee's palpable regret over its ruin was effectively communicated too. Looking forward to seeing them navigate the perils of this ravaged world next time.
Leave it to Miko to make the completely inappropriate comment when it's time for Jack to go to Cybertron.....
Fowler pretending to be a Decepticon was pretty much a callback to Star Wars. Kinda regretting they didn't just have him recite Han Solo's awkward dialogue verbatim.![]()
I would suggest that it's not the medium, but the quality of perception and expression, that determines the significance of art. But what would a cartoonist know? -Bill Watterson
It was another great episode, though there is one thing that irk's me... what happened to all the zombie-cons. I was really expecting some of them to be lurking around. I mean i guess you could come with a few possible explanations for what might have happened (like they were ALL wiped out when the space bridge blew) but the show has not made it clear.
I haven't watched "Darkness Rising" in a couple of months, but I assume they're just in another part of the planet. I mean, Cybertron's big. *shrugs*
My TZ blog for this episode isn't up yet, but while it isn't as strong as yesterday's episode, I like it more or less the same. It's a very good thing the action is kept to a minimum. This time around, the characters shine. Arcee mourning, Fowler pretending to be a Vehicon, Orion's organic progression of figuring out who he is and his doubts on Megatron, June's desperation and fear for her son's safety ("You've always wanted be an astronaut" is a beautiful delivery; you can hear her choking back tears), Starscream being Starscream, Ratchet improving as a leader, etc. All of these are small and frequent, but they add so much to the episode - so much to the characters. It's wonderful. For the first time, I honestly feel such a natural flow of good dialogue without the blandness or the awkward cheese that usually seeps its way in.
I do have concerns with Optimus' Orion Pax story arc, but I'll make a final judgment/rant/critique once Part 3 airs.
EDIT: Something else I forgot to add. Orion and Megatron are supposed to be good friends - equal friends. What is this "Lord Megatron" nonsense?

Stuff of Opinions: I review a bunch of stuff, Part One. Second one comes when I'm not being lazy.
If i recall it looked as though the entire planet was effected by the dark energon.
Who said they were "equal" friends? Orion was a clerk, he never saw himself as a leader but was concerned with the way things were in the world and wanted to help. Megatron however was the one actually leading the movement for reform; Orion was just there to help. In fact Rachet even mentions that Megatron became something of a mentor to Orion. When it comes down to it, though they were friends it was not really an equal friendship as megatron saw himself as a leader, and Orion always considered himself a follower. And now Orion recognizes that Megatron is the true leader of the decepticons and thus gives him proper respect by referring to him by title; just because they are friends does not mean they should drop formalities. It pops up in other works where a Ruler/Commander might be close dear friends with one of his men, but the man will most often refer to the king not by name but by status; Only times the lower level man refers to their friend by man is in a much more personal situation.EDIT: Something else I forgot to add. I'm rewatching the episode and it looks like a good portion of the zombie bots ended up exploding with the space bridge, I think. Maybe not all, but there's that, I guess.
Orion calls him by his name without the "Lord" or any formal name titles in the last episode of Season One. And he calls him just "Megatron" in the last episode. It's clear the way the two constantly talk about one another throughout Season One that they got past the student/mentor stage and are on first name terms. Hence why I felt got that vibe that they're equal friends. Although, I can abide by your statement that "Lord Megatron" is something Optimus only calls him when he's on the job as an act of profession; that makes a good deal of sense.Who said they were "equal" friends? Yes, like i said there could be some possible explanations, but i feel it is something that the show itself should make clear
With the end of season 1 you have to take into account where their relation was based on Orion's memory. Orion's memory sent him back to the days before megatron changed his name and made his move for power. Back when megatron was "megatronus" he was not a formal leader. He was a leading activist in the movement to reform cybertron, but he did not actually hold any title or formal leadership. As such, there would be no need to use such a formal title as "Lord" or "master" since such titles are FAR too lofty... no the most formal term one might have used for megatron back then would be "mister" (a term that i do not expect exists on cybertron due to the lack of surnames)Orion calls him by his name without the "Lord" or any formal name titles in the last episode of Season One. As for the previous episode you will note that he uses both terms. In one of their first chats he refers to him by "megatron", but later in the same episode, he refers to him as "lord megatron". In fact in the most recent episode he even uses "lord megatron" when speaking to himself in private. It reflects upon the recognition of titles and status; Megatron is no longer simply an activist and mentor, but the one true leader of the last free faction of the cybertronians that orion himself is now a true part of...
What's the deal with Miko? Why is she written so annoyingly? Do the writers hate girl characters in Transformers?
I think you're reading far too much into that. The way I interupt that whole interchange is that Orion recognizes its been a very, very, very, very, very long time and that he is awaken to a world where Megatron is the clear leader of the "rebellion". He's simply honoring his title.
Even after a fashion, before Orion became Optimus, Megatron was already the clear leader of the uprising. They were friends, but AT BEST, Orion was something of a confidant, an anaylist or something in that vain that lend him support. You could almost interrupt Orion as something of Megatron's right hand man like Soundwave is today.
