Thumbs up Orphan Shows The Hub Should Adopt

    Like This Thread!
The Hub is starting it's new fall season and considering it's programming is made up of mostly old series. I wanted to suggest and ask for suggestions of cartoons that they could add:

Captain Simian & The Space Monkeys

Bohbot Kids Network has a TON of shows that have fallen by the wayside and didn't get the exposure they deserved. Lots of the time they had crappy early morning time slots where the target audience was asleep.

    Freefonix

The perfect accompaniment to JEM, probably the best musical cartoon to come out of the U.K.

    Kaleido Star

Another great companion for JEM and MLP:FIM. I bought KS on DVD, it fits in very well with JEM's colorful pursuit of your dreams/fame/performing aspects. And MLP:FIM's all about the strength of friendship.

    Princess Tutu

The adorableness of Duck and the entire cast of MLP:FIM would cause the internet to explode. An adorable (not ugly) duckling tries to save a prince!

Roswell Conspiracies: Aliens, Myths, & Legends

Since there's an action hole left by GI Joe: Renegades. Yes, its similar to Men In Black: The Series, but different enough in tone that it would be a great addition.

    W.I.T.C.H.
    Gargoyles
    Gummi Bears
All because Disney's not doing anything with those properties and The Hub has already shown "Home On The Range" a bunch of times. So why not?

    Symbionic Titan
For the same reasons as the Disney shows and GI Joe: Renegades is on hiatus, they might as well fill their action void with good programming. I would hope that Hub would eventually make new episodes.

    Reboot

Reboot's greatness doesn't need to be explained. However Hasbro probably won't air it because like Beast Wars it might show up Transformers Prime!

    Sugar: A Little Snow Fairy

I watched Sugar on My Brighthouse's Demand service. It's a cute show that deals with finding yourself, friendship, and loss. It's about more than cute fairies being cute.

    Inhumanoids

    Visionairies

I fully expect at some point that both Inhumanoids and Visionairies will appear weekly. Neither show got past 13 episodes, even though they were poised to be the next big things. Hasbro quit on both too soon.

Star Blazers was recently airing on SyFy's Anime-Whatever-Nights and was cruelly pulled before finishing. Yet, SB was originally distributed by Claster Television which went on to work on ALL of Hasbro's Marvel/Sunbow properties. Star Blazers would be welcomed by the same audience thats currently watching GI Joe: ARAH and '80s Transformers.

I tried picking a balance of female centric and action adventure shows, both old and new that should appeal to a broad audience.

What cartoons do you think would be a good fit for the Hub?

Well I don't know if Cartoon Network still has the rights, but Totally Spies and the Amasing Spies would be an welcome addition. And also Code Lyoko as I hear there is a new Code Lyoko series coming up.

But on the subject, it would a major quo for anyone that includes the HUB, if they could aquire the rights to the Digimon anime. Rerun the old series, but at the very least air the new Digimon Xros Wars series.

Also if this show ever got relicensed and redubbed, Sailor Moon. Though I think the HUB would censor the hell out of it.

I would say Muppet Babies is likely seeing how Margaret Loesch is in charge of the channel and other shows she was involved in have already appeared on the channel.

Ummmm, The mods and admins dont like "list threads". You need to put more "meat" so to speak. Elaborate more on WHY you think these shows are a good fit for The Hub .

Hmm...I don't see The Hub acquiring a lot of anime, unless it's of the toyetic variety. Hasbro is, first and foremost, a toy company, after all. Anime is experiencing kind of a "down time" here in the U.S., we're past the point when networks will air anything that comes from Japan. Sailor Moon is officially a dead franchise which didn't do phenomenally well here in the States, so unless someone were planning a new SM series, I don't see why The Hub would be interested in airing it.

As for shows that I could see coming to The Hub, offhand, the main series which comes to mind is that new Rainbow Brite series, if it ever happens. It was announced about 2 years ago but there's since been no follow up. I could also see Care Bears: Adventures in Care-A-Lot airing on The Hub, since its' produced by American Greetings (the same company behind Strawberry Shortcake, Maryoko Yummy and The Twisted Whiskers Show), but there may be some technicality preventing that, otherwise I suspect it would already be airing on The Hub along with the other AG Kids Zone shows.

October would be great to see Real/Extreme Ghostbusters return to TV, even on the Hub, since RGB will be 25 years old this year. Also, Beetlejuice TAS would be great as well.

Why can't the Hub air Canadian cartoons like What About Mimi?, The Tofus, Fred's Head? I know they air Atomic Betty, but would love to see other Canadian toons here in the US.

For their prime time slot, The Muppet Show to tie in with the relaunch movie. Daria would be a great show to add...uncut. Since Daria fans didn't like the edited version on The N.

Since they have been airing The old Transformers and G.I.JOE cartoon, they could air The original My Little Pony series and Tales.

Also they should air Show that was shown on Fox kids like Killer Tomatoes,Godzilla the series and Toonsylvania. And non fox kid show like Free Willy,Cro and the 1993 Pink Panther series

Muppet Babies, and Muppet Show (maybe for next year)
All Dogs go to heaven: the series (and due to it air the two movies, maybe its Xmas next....) (possibly for next year)
Pee Wees Playhouse (due to the movie they air)
garfield and Friends (in te future)
and hasbro shows from the 90s/80s (Example: Old MLP, and Potato head Kids)

But i would love to see, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Transformers: Beast Wars, ReBoot!, Code Lyoko (unless if CN airs it again in future), Inspector Gadget, Gadget Boy, Sonic SatAM, AOSTh (i have no reason, but would love to see it again.) . i dont any Live-Action shows i ave, but maybe The Muppet Show i would like to see again. ^^

Ruby Gloom's a pretty decent show that I can see working very well alongside My Little Pony. It's also from Nelvana, who IIRC produced Chuck and Friends with Hasbro.

Disney currently owns the Fox Kids library, and if they don't feel compelled to air those shows on 1 of their own channels. they're not going to loan them out to a competitor. Turner owns the Pink Panther, and the syndicated series has never even aired on Cartoon Network. Cro is owned by CTW. I'm surprised that didn't just go to PBS after it was canceled by ABC.

Since they have been airing The old Transformers and G.I.JOE cartoon, they could air The original My Little Pony series and Tales.
I don't see why they'd want to show those when they're running the far superior Friendship is Magic. The difference between MLP and Transformers and G.I. Joe is that fans still remember the original entries of the latter shows fondly today, whereas most people remember the original My Little Pony as being cheesy as heck. Those who remember the original Pony shows tend to not remember them fondly; even Lauren Faust has gone on record as saying that she hated the 80's MLP shows. The only way I could conceive The Hub running the 80's MLP would be as a on-air joke, like on April Fool's Day or something similar.

File this under: Never Gonna Happen. Warner Bros. owns all of the WB Silver Age shows (Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Freakazoid!), so you'll never see any of them on The Hub, unless Hasbro would be willing to pay WB a royalty to contract them, but since the Kids WB shows have been out of production for years and don't have active toy lines, I don't see why Hasbro would want to contract any of them. The only reason why Batman Beyond and and Men In Black: The Animated Series are on The Hub is because both shows had toy lines which were manufactured by...guess who?

As for Inspector Gadget, that's a DiC property, so that would most likely go to a DiC owned program block like Cookie Jar TV. The only ones of those that seem likely to happen are Beast Wars, since Transfomrers is a Hasbro property, and The Muppet Show, since The Hub has already aired a few of the Muppet movies.

Viva Pinata could conceivably work on The Hub's lineup, although Hasbro has no reason to air a series based off of a defunct video game franchise.

Well you could be right about that Starbro. But I already know the muppet show/muppet babies is gonna happen. And maybe Beast Wars, and then air Reboot.

Shows I'm possibly excpecting: The Muppet Show, Muppet Babies, All-Dogs go to Heaven: the series, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Old Hasbro Shows, Transformers Beast Wars, Garfield and Friends, Free Willy: the Series, Reboot, and that's all I know...

As of last year, Godzilla: the Series was used as part of the Kabillion-on-Demand service, alongside Men in Black. I would think the Hub would be allowed to air it, if they wanted, as it was an acquisition, not something produced in-house.

    also

also, we might hopefully expect Marvel Shows in the future, as stated by hasbros hopes, <BR>
<BR>Hasbro had also hoped their collaboration with Marvel would pad out their channel's schedule with Marvel cartoon
But one problem is that it might make a rivalry against Disney for its rights to Marvel making it hard for its chance to happen.

Godzilla: The Series, MIB The Series, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, they're all shows that belong to Sony so they could end up on the Hub without much problem.

Ruby Gloom! It's a really good show! I think it would work well since it never showed in the US it would feel new. It's also from Studio B who does MLP.

Another Studio B production would be Class of the Titans:
(this is supposedly the official channel of the show so I think it's okay to post that).

I also think Di-Gata Defenders got a bum deal on 4KidsTV and could use a second chance.

Both of these shows have two seasons ready to roll out. The second season of Di-Gata Defender got into some serious stuff, I mean when your main character looses a hand you know you got a show a little different than the norm.

The Hub would also gain my utmost respect if they aired this show:

could help wait until Renegades comes back.

Seconding Kaleido Star, maybe School Rumble. Both are family-friendly comedies that could work on The Hub if they acquired anime.
TOONAMI: Every Saturday night on Cartoon Network, 12-6am. No excuses for not watching allowed.

Code Lyoko would be a good choice for the Hub. I think Cartoon Network's contract has expired, they never aired the whole show (Yes I know the final episodes of season four aired on Cartoon network video but that's different from actually airing on TV.) Also there is season five on it's way. All and all I think it would be a good choice, it's a long show so it can air for a while and more episodes are on the way.

Oh and I agree with Class of the titans I missed out on it's short lived run on Qubo when it and other good Canadian shows had a chance but then the programing block chickened out after a month or two.

Wakfu this is a show I actually have not seen but really want to. I don't know if this french cartoon is any good or not but it sounds interesting. I have not played the game ether. I guess it's just something I would have no problem seeing.

Beast Wars really should be a no brainer for them. Of course I've already got the whole series on dvd. So if that show never makes it back to television, it's no loss for me.

I completely agree about Cybersix. My only regret it was a too short series and I think it could have enough potential for a good season 2.

Let's add another Canadian toon, Delilah & Julius. It's was inspired from Kim Possible and Totally Spies. (some trivia, Teletoon aired both Totally Spies and Delilah & Julius) but it got a charm of its own.

And they could also check for some adapted cartoons of Franco-Belgium comics like Blake & Mortimer, Lucky Luke, the Adventures of Tintin, Spirou, Gaston Lagaffe. It might be a niche who could fit the Hub.

Delilah & Julius is not an Orphan show though. It is currently being aired on American TV. Sure it's the Starz kids and Family premium channel but it has a home none the less. That's why I have not suggested Dragon Hunters because it too is currently being aired on Starz kids and Family channel.

Then again Starz themselves made Dan VS and it's on the Hub so Starz owning the rights would not necessarily prevent ether show from airing on the Hub.

When you think about it just about any show that's family friendly can air on the The Hub so this thread will pretty much be everyone listing their favorite shows. There's no real criteria as to why The Hub should have these shows.
