I am cracking up at how they got the commercial bumpers mixed up for this.
And Miko seriously bugs me. Anyone that hinders her chances of getting killed, she has an issue with.
It doesn't seem like Megatron has done much of anything since he came back. Perhaps this episode will change that.

What bothers me more is the fact that she never seems to learn her lesson. I thought there was an episode devoted entirely to her learning not to tag along when she's told not to, yet here she is again running through ground-bridges without a care. She continues to be the one thing I hate about this show.

I guess the only thing about this episode I didn't like was the "parent service" that happens whenever Jack's mom has lines, especially near the end. Otherwise, it was an okay episode.
Cartoons aren't "just for kids"...but they're not just for adults either. They're for everyone.
Meh, a painfully boring episode. The problem is that neither Breakdown, Arcee, or June are interesting for me to care about their dilemmas. Not that these subplots should have been cut. Oh-No. Characterization is important and in the long run, moments where Arcee views herself as Jack's protector (a big step in comparison to past episodes) over June and Breakdown's questioning loyalty to the Decepticons (which I can see as a potentially interesting concept) is something we need now so that the pay off in future episodes will be much more to soak in if they ever decide to go back and finalize their characters (and I do hope they go back).
Airachid was someone who impressed me in her first appearance: creepy, atmospheric, haunting, and dangerous. Now she just seems your typical run-of-the-mill villain. I personally think the writers should have gone the route her predecessor Lockdown did: introduce her sparsely. The less we see of her, the more impact and frightening she will be.
The other biggest disappointment is Miko. Broken record, I know, but "Shadowzone" seem to truly start a turning point for her when she apologizes for her behavior. "Operation: Breakdown" played it further when she didn't go with Bulkhead (just encouraged him). But alas, she's back to square one and once again, she's the most annoying element in the show. It's personally irritating because she gets the most exposure out of the kids; an egregious thing to deal with.
Massive bonus points for continuing to use June though. I like the idea of having a normal adult in the secret, one who doesn't have a government background, one who isn't a kid that the target audience can relate to. She's just a regular woman leading a regular job. I want to see a viewpoint of how she views the robots from her perspective. Double bonus point for Breakdown getting an eye patch instead of cheaply giving him his eyeball back. One of the things TF Prime does wonderfully is show off the consequences of the war and enemies they encounter - this is one of those moments.

Stuff of Opinions: I review a bunch of stuff, Part One. Second one comes when I'm not being lazy.
That's one of the reasons I like about her presence as well, I hope they can build on this for all its worth. But not to the point where she become annoying to the viewers.
She's already annoying Miko, which was her reason for jumping the bridge. One has to wonder if she would've crossed if June mom wasn't there to pester everyone.
Still, when I heard her voice behind Bulkhead and Arcee, I was like "DAMMIT MIKO!"

Wow, that was about my reaction.
But I really liked the episode. I am just a sucker for fights, and there were plenty here. I also really like Airachnid (second favorite villain on the show) so that was a bonus. Although that magnetic weapon felt like a bad gimmick. I wonder if it will actually do anything in future episodes.

I was glad to see Airarchnid again and her joining up with the cons, because frankly I'm starting to get sick of Breakdown.
Yeah he's cool and all, but ever since his intro he's been the only named Decepticon that fights. Starscream and Soundwave barely do anything but stand and give orders, and Megatron only recently returned. And the nameless Vehicons are mostly cannon fodder at this point so most battles with them aren't that great. I know CGI means character rosters must be limited but even Beast wars managed to have more than one combative villain.
Airarchnid also has a different combat style and weapons, which again makes things a little interesting. One thing I don't really like that Prime's done is make all the Transformers standardized. Everybody has energy blasters and pop out blades (except Bulk and Breakdown who have blunt weapons) and that's about it. Now granted, I don't really want the G1 style of loudly annoucing what toy gimmick weapon they're going to use, but again Beast Wars had varied weapons and even Animated, where the Autobot's equipment weren't even technically weapons gave each character their own combat style. Even the movie TFs have some weapon variation (Film Optimus has a sword and axe, and a blaster, and a gun that shoots solid shells, instead of two swords and two blasters). And what happened to Optimus's cool looking battle axe from War For Cybertron?

Give me a Ratchet episode. Really he seems to be the most underused transformer in this show (ok him and Soundwave). I mean I realize that's because he tends to stay at the base and play support. I guess it's just I like Jeffery Combs and I want to hear him talk even more, and I just want to know more about this Ratchet.
Ok, not a bad episode, I agree that Miko is annoying very annoying, my leaste favorite of the humans, though Jack's Mom was pretty annoying in her way though she at least learned a lesson in this episode Miko, nope she learned nothing.
I remember reading somewhere that the creative team love Mico so unfortunately she is probably not going anywhere, which is bad because she furthers the transformers curse of terrible humans, which is sad cause the other three are fine but they just shoe horn her in every episode
The actual transformers I like, besides megatron not being very active in this show, he really kind of just sits around, in the original series when he wanted something he went to get it coase he knew he was with incompitamnt warriors, which is even worse in this series coase he has an entire army, why is he not just sending all of them to this so he ensured victory, its becoming very problematic
That really is a shame. I don't get it either, because they must be aware of exactly what kind of character Miko is, and just how much she would piss people off. The way things are going, if something does happen to knock the scrappy out of her, it will be too late. No forgiveness.
Yeah, Megatron has been resting on his laurels so far. I'm wondering if he's trying to figure out how to recover from the whole Zombie Cybertron failure. He must be low on Dark Energon, and he's seems to rely on it alot.
That, or the writers have no clue what to do with him.
On a slightly darker note, Airarachnid knows about Jack and his mom. Soundwave took a picture of all three kids during the five part premier. And now they are both on the same team.

The Hypocrite Rises....
Not just her. The point is that the Decepticons could theoretically target all of them to make the Autobots vunerable. And with a picture of Raf and Miko, and what she learned from Mech, they have a good way to track the kids down.
I'm wondering why Soundwave has been sitting on that info.
The Hypocrite Rises....
Ok so this is my first time posting on this thread about this show. I've been an avid viewer of this show from the start. The 5 part Pilot miniseries had me hooked and I've been a huge fan ever since. The Only other Transformers show I watched before this was Transformers Animated which was......ok IMO. Being 31 years old I actually grew up on the G1 Show, but I had not watched a Transformers show avidly until Animated and Prime.
Anyway On a whim I decided to start posting some of my thoughts on the show after watching this latest episode. The one thing that I want to comment is just how incredibly irritating the character of Miko is. I see that a lot of you share that opinion
I hated her character from the very beginning and as the series went on she just became more infuriating in each subsequent episode and finally just as she was starting to become tolerable she goes back to her maddening ways.
Miko is a selfish, annoying, immature brat and I wanna see her off the show. I would say kill her off, but that may be too harsh.
Ok Anti-Miko rant over. The fight scenes in this episode were great. Expertly choreographed and executed and very exciting. In fact most of the action and fight sequences on this show have blown me away.
Although can someone tell me why we keep getting introduced to new Decepticons, but not new permanent Autobots?
Cliffjumper died in the first episode, Wheeljack was there for only one episode and Tailgate was only in flashbacks.
Since the start of the show the Decepticons have introduced Knock Out, Breakdown , Skyquake (though he also died in the episode that introduced him) He did show up as a zombie in a later episode. Makeshift (one episode only) and how it looks like Airachnid is going to become a regular Con.
Take away all the one episode only cons that still leaves 3 that have been introduced after the start of the show that are now regulars. Knock Out, Breakdown and now Airachnid.
Say Ahhh Dirtbag!!!
^^^ Well the shows have a larger main group of Autobots while for the Cons there was just Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave, with Megatron incapacitated for the first few episodes there would have only been two main Cons if more were not added.
For the Auto bots on the other hand there already are five main characters. So given that the drone Decepticons are just cannon fodder the added main decepticons were added for a more serous threat.
Though a few more guest autobots would be nice. It seems that both races are pretty much spreed out across the galaxy ether in small units or individuals.
Not much to say about this episode. However, I wish that Miko would learn to actually stay put for once. It seemed that she finally learned her lesson when she didn't run off in an earlier episode, but I guess that it didn't stick. Also, I do hope at least, that Jack's mom gets some character development and becomes less overbearing in the future. It's okay for this episode, but it'll get annoying real quick if she doesn't change.
Not necessarily. When it comes to Scrappy, most of them are created with the best intentions. In miko's case she was obviously meant to be a source for fun and comedy in the series. However, what makes a scrappy a scrappy is that the character in question wound up failing to do what they were meant to do. Its like when you tell a joke you think will be funny only to find out after you told it that no one thinks its funny.
frankly i think part of the problem is the show she is in. Transformers prime is a show that takes itself pretty seriously and Miko is basically the only source of comic relief. In a serious show however, her antics have no place and thus we take her actions seriously and don't see the humor. I actually think that if she were in Transformers: Animated she would have been more well received. Unlike prime, Animated was a more lighthearted series where each of the characters share in giving the show a bit of comedy.
Simple, its because their was very few decepticon characters and the autobots had them completely outclassed. Decepticons may have all those minions but they are nothing more than cannon fodder... of the two groups the decepticons were the ones most in need of more forces. Hell even as they are now, megatron, breakdown and Airachnaid are the only ones that seem especially capable in combat... the others, not so much
its only now that the numbers have even out that we might see a new autobot join the ranks.
