What do you think about Fluttershy?

Fluttershy is arguably the cutest of the ponies, mostly due to her personality and soft spoken nature. However, I’d like to see more of what we got during the Grand Galloping Gala. Underneath that kind and loving persona is someone who can’t stand rejection and will go absolutely mad if it happens. I really liked that added dimension to her character.

Seriously though, how can anyone not like her, she's so cute, and friendly, and loyal, and ever so kind. She's also responsible for several of the non-Pinkie Pie related moments of the show...

Now about the Gala scene, I really hope they give an explanation on why the animals at the Gala ignored her. I mean she's able to tame a manticore, defeat a dragon by talking to it, and stare down a cockatrice & not get turned to stone but not able befriend the same type of animals that she usually takes care of in Ponyville? My only guess is someone put them up to it, either Celestia as part of the whole "Spice up the Gala" thing or an evil entity compelled them to do so as part of a masterplan to corrupt the mane six & in turn the Elements of Harmony.

This pony is my absolute favorite (With Pinkie at a very close second). I can very much relate to her (Shy around new people, but able to open up around friends) plus I find her mind-numbingly cute. Even when she's raging like in Best Night Ever, she manages to be HHHHNNNNGGGG!! quality.

Just an observation, does anyone else think her little squeaks sound like kitten meows?

Fluttershy is my favorite pony. Not only is she adorable and hilarious, but she's the character I can relate to more than any so I felt an instant connection with her.

I'm torn on Fluttershy. I'm an animal lover so I love her for that. She's generally cool but I can't stand Shrinking Violets. She's squarely third for me after Rarity and Rainbow Dash.

Fluttershy is my 3rd favorite pony. At first, I thought she was the usual timid girl of the show that would get loved for no reason but being a cliche, but she has quite a lot of reasons to be liked. I do like how when push comes to shove, she'll fight back and stand her ground against an animal to tame, like in Dragonshy and The Staremaster, which I still stand by being more of a Fluttershy episode than a CMC. That and loved her freak out in the season finale.

I love all the main characters a lot, but for the purpose of this listing I had to put Fluttershy down to the bottom of the list. I'm just not that thrill about her 'schtick' so to speak.

I think Fluttershy is adorable, and I can relate to her in a way when i was a kid I was always one of the shy ones in the class. (And I too like animals more then people, lol.) I would say she's arguably the most true to her trait, she really is a kind person, always doing her best to care for animals (even when she doesn't know how, ahh poor shy had a tough time with that old philomena.)

I also like how over the course of the 1st season the others tried to teach her to be more assertive and break out of her shell. (guess they never suspected it would unleash flutterrage upon the world lol.) But yeah I like ol shy and look foward to seeing more of her & her newfound assertiveness in season 2.

P.S. Also find it amusing that Fluttershy is the one the Crusaders respect enough to listen to, lol. (but then again she is the STAREMASTER!)

Like so many of the other ponies in the series, I was worried that Fluttershy would come off as overbearing in her shyness and at worst be a stereotypical 'Save the animals!' type. Thank god that didn't happen. :P

I don't know where to place Fluttershy on my list and I don't even hate her. I don't find her boring or overused either but in the list, she's just...there. I still love her though because she brings out a good balance between the group. Another thing I like about her is that she seems intelligent in her own right when it comes to animals (she's basically a vet. You know it people) but they don't amp it up to make her seem snobby.

Fluttershy is just too darn cute. Who couldn't love her?

This, pretty much. I expected her to be by far my least favorite, and that is unfortunately where I had to put her in the poll, but that by no means indicates that I don't like her. Underneath all the shyness (which I can strongly relate to), is a strong-willed character with opinions, an attitude, and possible psychosis. She just needs the occasional push to let them out.

She has some of my favorite comedic lines, too:

"...oh, yes. We are just doing this for the ticket."

"I'm a year older than you."

Plus some that I'm forgetting, and the epic rant about the flaws with Rarity's dress design, which was what firmly cemented her as a likeable character for me.

Sadly, there are a few things that drag her down. The whole 'scared of her own shadow' thing, for one. It just feels kind of tacked on, not really a natural part of her personality. It's introduction in 'Dragonshy' felt pretty jarring, and just clumsily handled in general. Also, the 'angry mom' scenes. The first one, when she chewed out the dragon, was mildly amusing, but the second time against the Cockatrice was unneccesary. I hope it'll be the last one.

And her over-the-top cuteness is a mixed bag. Endearing at times, but sometimes excessive. Testosterone only lets me comfortably tolerate so much of it.

My favorite sides to her are the cute side and the animal loving side. I love her cuteness like when she nerds out over animals or things like the *grin* in Stare Master. And she's such a good woobie, all I want to do is give her a hug.
