The Hub Weekday Schedule Changes starting May 31st

    Like This Thread!
Taken from Nick and More (thanks to Bryan Alford for the update)

    http://www.nickandmore.com/2011/05/1...weekday-strip/

We found out on April 28 that Jem and Conan the Adventurer would join The Hub’s regular line-up on May 31, now we know what other schedule changes will also be happening.

So far, only Tuesday, May 31 (up til midnight) is available to view at TVGuide.com. Among the notable changes (which are many), is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic getting a thrice weekday strip at 8:30am, 1:30pm and 6:30pm ET. Jem will get a four-play weekday treatment at 7:30am, 2pm, 7pm and 1am ET.

Also joining the weekday strip is preschool series The Adventures of Chuck & Friends at 10am. Animal Mechanicals and Maryoku Yummy will also get five-day slots now too.

Leaving weekdays is Atomic Betty, Deltora Quest, Dennis and Gnasher, Cosmic Quantum Ray and The Twisted Whiskers Show.

Weekdays starting Tuesday, May 31 (what’s known so far via TVGuide.com):
    6:00AM Transformers – Generation 1
    6:30AM G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
    7:00AM Conan the Adventurer
    7:30AM Jem
    8:00AM Pictureka!
8:30AM My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
    9:00AM The WotWots
    9:30AM In the Night Garden
10:00AM The Adventures of Chuck & Friends
    10:30AM Animal Mechanicals
    11:00AM The WotWots
    11:30AM In the Night Garden
12:00PM The Adventures of Chuck & Friends
    12:30PM Maryoku Yummy
1:00PM Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures
1:30PM My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
    2:00PM Jem
    2:30PM Fraggle Rock
3:00PM Men in Black: The Series
    3:30PM Batman Beyond
    4:00PM Pictureka!
    4:30PM Endurance
5:00PM Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show
    6:00PM Fraggle Rock
6:30PM My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
    7:00PM Jem
    7:30PM Transformers Prime
    8:00PM Family Ties
    8:30PM Family Ties
    9:00PM The Wonder Years
    9:30PM Doogie Howser, M.D.
    10:00PM Happy Days
    10:30PM Happy Days
    11:00PM Laverne & Shirley
    11:30PM Batman
    12:00AM Transformers – Generation 1
    12:30AM G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
    1:00AM Jem
    1:30AM Transformers Prime

    All times are EDT.
Friendship is Magic gets on the weekday strip and finally it gets a watchable time slot. 6:30 PM Eastern before Jem which would be 3:30PM Pacific which is a nice after school slot. Interesting to see they paired FIM and Jem twice a day and almost 3 times a day but Pictureka! is between them in the morning.

Conan the Adventurer pairs up with classic TF and Joes for a new (hah not new at all) weekday morning action strip. Kinda of a bummer it only airs once a day given Jem airs a whopping 4 times a day.

Prime really doesn't have quite enough for a weekday strip so hopefully that's only temporary. According to Bryan, that might be a rotating slot and it can't be determined yet. Really wish that was Beast Wars actually at both 7:30PM and 1:30AM. Kind of odd to pair Jem with TF Prime. They couldn't possibly be more different in style, animation or various other aspects but I know at least one guy who will love having those shows back to back.

Finally, My Little Pony will be on at a time when kids aren't in school. This is good to see.

6:30 isn't so bad for MLP. I'm glad that it's getting some extra slots, seeing as how they do have enough episodes to air on a weekday basis. With Prime getting a slot here as well, I might give this show another shot and watch it in order.

Shame that Twisted Whiskers got the boot. It was pretty enjoyable for what it was worth.

It would be nice if they didn't do quite some many encores of the same episodes of some shows so they could keep Twisted Whiskers, Dennis and Gnasher, Atomic Betty, etc. on in some capacity but oh well.

The 6:30PM showing of Friendship is Magic is a dream come true, actually it's even better than that because the most I was hoping for was a slot around 4PM EST, but 6:30PM EST is a great slot. Almost prime time on the EST feed and after school for all the others.

Finally My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic gets a weekday timeslot, I was thinking about that the other day. Funny how things work out.

Four airings of Jem a day, I wonder if the 7: 30 am and 2 pm airings will be different episodes from the 7 pm and 1 am airings, I wouldn't be surprised if the 7: 30 am and 2 pm airings starts with episode 27.

Aw yes! Now I can actually watch MLP: FiM on TV instead of always having to rely on the Internet.

I'm kind of sad to see Cosmic Quantum Ray get the heave-ho, but on the other hand seeing those same 26 episodes over and over was starting to get a little old.

And at long last, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic gets a desirable time slot.

They could get rid of one of those Jem spots, I mean it's great that they are giving an old cartoon a lot of spots and good times at that but. Too bad they did not give Conan a spot along side Batman Beyond and Men in Black in the afternoon, say it has that 2:30 PM spot.

They might be givng a lot of time slots to see which one gets the better ratings. We have discuessed previously, Jem is a hard show to see which is the best demographic for it. It is kind of inbetween actions shows for boys and shows like My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake.

And about Deltora Quest I think the rights ran out, I heard somewhere the Hub had a short lease on Deltora Quest.

A shame to lose Atomic Betty, maybe it will still be on the weekends.

Boo! Atomic Betty is gone?! It had the most episode out of any series on the channel!

I like that HuBoom is getting an hour extension. I'm really hoping to see Beast Wars and maybe even ReBoot there some day. It's nice to have an action alternative to Adult Swim on weeknights other than Syfy's block on Thursday.

So with the big Jem push lineup, I asked this before half sarcasticly, but now I have to wonder, though maybe this is more apporpriate for the Entertainment thread, but is Hasbro planning a live action Jem movie?

Are they trying to recreate familarity to the audiance, in order to build an audiance for a live action movie. Let the consipiriacy theory begin, at the very least I think Hasbro is trying to relaunch Jem in some shape or form. I guess it makes sense, oppose to making a live action movie and / or new cartoon series when the original cartoon series has not been seen off television in over twenty years and the only exposure to todays is a out of print DVD release.

They are not all going to be different episodes. At most 10 episodes in a weekday week. I assume the morning and afternoon airings are different episodes from the evening an late night airings. And we don't even know Fridays schedule yet, which is different from Monday - Thursday.

IMHO, it's more likely just a coincidence. As far as we know, there are no plans to actually relaunch Jem in any way shape or form. If anything, it might really be an indirect promotion for the upcoming DVD re-release, and even then that might also be a coincidence. Still, Jem could just as easily be relaunched without a new film/TV project. I don't think you need to do that get people interested, but that's just my personal opinion (if anything, there should be a new Jem-related CD, given that it's based on music; whether it should have newly recorded music or the originals, that I don't know). In any case, I'd love for a new Jem toyline to be made, but I honestly don't think we should look too far into this.
Cartoons aren't "just for kids"...but they're not just for adults either. They're for everyone.

Update, according to Zap 2 It, here are the Jem episodes to be shown during the 5/28 marathon and the episodes for the first week.

    5/28 marathon
    1) The Beginning
    2) Disaster
    3) Kimber's Rebellion
    4) Frame Up
    5) Battle Of The Bands
    6) Starbright Part 1: Falling Star

    5/31
    1)The Beginning

    6/1
    2)Disaster

    6/2
    3)Kimber's Rebellion

    6/3
    4) Frame Up

    6/4
    1) The Beginning
    2) Disater

Fridays airings only at 7: 30 am and 2 pm et and Saturday airings at 10 am and 10: 30 am et., Sunday schedule yet to be available.

Weekends will air repeats from the weekday airings, or a slower rotation of two episodes a week, and all 4 episodes on Monday through Thursday are the same episode. Which surprise a bit.

As for the marathon, it does air on a cliffhanger, I would have either have made a 4 hour marathon so the entire Starbright arc would air, or air episode 9) The World Hunger Sindig in its place.

Nice to get FiM in triple slots but I'll miss seeing Deltora Quest on the weekdays, least I still have the weekend showings.
Scratch that I just saw the site, and I was hoping they'd finally show that last set of episodes before it left air.

They could've at least kept Atomic Betty on there...
