This is it, folks! You are all cordially invited to the Season Finale of MLP: Friendship is Magic. It's been a long run since October (The launch of the Hub channel), and most of us had never expected how good a show about ponies, and magic, and friendship would be (Thank you, Mrs. Faust and crew!), or how big a fanbase it would spark. It's gonna be a long wait until season 2 comes later this year. Anyway...

They got the tickets.
They got the dresses.
They got their hopes, dreams and expectations for the biggest(?) event in Equestria.
Now, they'll see if it's all worth it (or if they are expecting too much).
After much anticipation...

Finally what all waited for. This could be the best episode ever as Lauren has been setting up till this moment. So I expected nothing less than greatness.

I know Lauren said season two, it would be a great surprise if we saw Princess Luna make a surprise apperance.

...With that out of the way, I'm excited for this episode as well. For one thing we'll get to see the dresses at work for real. (Though some of them showed up in "A Bird In The Hoof".)

According to my digital cable's program guide, the ponies' expectations for it may be too high. While this could set up a moral lesson about how people (and ponies) shouldn't put their expectations too high, it could also be just another medium for just another spur-of-the-moment parody; the parody this time around being that of grand parties/balls/what have you. I guess we'll know soon enough. Still, you can't help but think that one way or another, they're implying that this episode will end a certain way...

I thought Ms. Faust stated that Princess Luna was supposed to turn up again in season 2; this is technically still season 1 (albeit the finale).

It would be great if we do see her here, but I haven't heard anything to that effect.

Yeah, she said Luna would be featured more heavily in season 2, and also said she wouldn't be in the rest of season 1.

It could be a trick to throw us off for a season 1 finale surprise. The late Dwayne McDuffie did a surprise like that once. So I wouldn't put it past Lauren.

Considering everybody had different expectations for the gala (ex: Fluttershy seeing buzzards that buzz, Pinkie Pie being at a carnival). I can imagine it'll be a very regal event.

EPIC, EPIC, what a song. It might be the best song in the series yet, maybe the MLP song of all time. I can't get the song out of my head "At the gala, at the gala, at the galliping gally."

I never thought I would say this but Fluttershy can be scary.

What an episode, everyone's night went south pretty quickly. And there was never a optomisitc moment for Pinkie.

The song is awesome, I loved Fluttershy calling herself a loud mouth, and the glass slipper at the end.

A great end to a great season. Thank you Lauren Faust.
