Sonic Rainbow
Born To Fly
Dash Of Lightning
I've added a poll to this thread; it will close right before the premiere. It'll be interesting to see who guesses the real ending, although the real ending seems a bit obvious to me, but then again, it could be too obvious.
Today @ 1:30 ET on The Hub
Frustrated Cutie Mark Crusaders ask the ponies to share how they got their marks.

One last thing I just thought about Dash of Lightning: if we're to assume the characters are each relating how they got their cutie mark, than that means Rainbow Dash would have to be telling the story of how she told the story of how she got her cutie mark.
And as Monkey Joe said, a flashback within a flashback is sloppy storytelling.

I wonder if we'll get to see all six? That would be pretty cool.
Probably not Celestia and Luna, though, but that would be really interesting. I`m especially interested in seeing Twilight Sparkle growing up in canterlot, if they do show them all in flashback.

"You're going down!"
"In history maybe!"
I'm surprised I never heard that one before.
And apparently, Fluttershy is Snow White. No surprise there.
"Besides, I can't take anymore singing."
I liked this episode.

Pinkie's backstory was my favorite.
Oh now that was an enjoyable episode
Applejack, not great not bad, i was whelmed... except for the pun... "manehatten"... ouch
Fluttershy, Come to me my animal friends. Guess i wasn't the only one getting a snow white feel from that one
Rarity, Oh god did i love that deadpan bored look as she was being dragged along by her magic
Twilight, Started a little slow but it did end well her magical explosion and how she just started jumping around in public.
Pickie pie, loved how she just popped up on the back of the wagon but as for her backstory i was rather underwhlemed... a rock farm? seriously... though she did look cute with her hair down
Rainbowdash... rather predictable that it turned out to be the sonic rainboom. Nothing too excited about it really. Kind of think i might have been more entertained by her telling the myth-like story even if it didn't turn out to be true.
Despite the (possibly) deceptive publicity stunt they pulled, I decided to watch this episode anyway.
I'll admit that the sonic rainboom Rainbow Dash made looked impressive, and I guess I appreciated how the CMC's were possibly "thrown a bone" as it were (i.e., they may have gotten a general idea about what they need to do this time).. Also, I had wondered if the older ponies either had just (at least partially) made up those stories in order to either explain something to them they otherwise couldn't explain, or had really told them different versions of the same story. I don't think it was the former, but if it was the latter, then it was probably accidental judging by the older ponies' reactions. OTOH, the moral felt kind of made up this time.
BTW, the baby ponies from the original 1986 version (as implied by their name) had them since birth. I don't see why they couldn't do the same thing in this show...
Oh, and one other thing, I REALLY hope The Hub doesn't try this stunt again with this or any other show (with the promotional games). If anything, they need to be more specific next time.
EDIT: I just realized something. Way back in the two part pilot, Celestia gave Twilight an assignment that consists of sending her reports about learning about friendship. Maybe, just maybe, if season 2 had Twilight being given some kind of new assignment, I just might be willing to give season 2 a try. What kind of new assignment, I don't know, but IMHO, it might bring something a little fresh to the show. It might even result in a new subtitle. Anyway, it's just a thought. Who knows what they'll actually do.
Cartoons aren't "just for kids"...but they're not just for adults either. They're for everyone.
I'm honestly a bit disappointed because it was so obvious. I think they should have tried to make the other endings sound a bit more legitimate. It's not much fun to have a guessing game when everybody knows the answer right away. Still, this was an alright episode. I didn't like it as much as I expected, and most of the flashbacks were shrug-worthy to me, but I did enjoy Twilight Sparkle's backstory. It seems like she's the most powerful pony in Equestria. It was also nice to see Spike in baby and adult form.

At least it wasn't a South Park like April Fools day joke, they delievered on their promese.
It was a good episode, the Cutie Cursaders will never learn it seems the key to getting your Cutie marks.
I hope the HUB will make available the other versions of the episode on their website, like Total Drama has done in the past with their alternative versions of episodes.

Of all the CMC episodes this one is my favorite. Nice to see the mane ponies' back stories of their life.
And apparently Pinkie Pie's full name is Pinkamena Diane Pie. Who would've thought she came from a rather Amish background.
And note that the design (or rather the color scheme) of Twilight's mom is similar to the original concept art Lauren Faust did for Twilight.
I didn't think this was a CMC-centric episode. It did start out that way, but most of it involved the main group.
Yeah. That was my fault.
As expected, the Sonic Rainboom was indeed canon, and Dash's backstory settled the matter from the episode with the same name.
I remember the bullies in that episode dismissed the Rainboom. So they didn't really see it happening. Furthermore, Pinkie Pie only saw a blast of color and not the Pegasus causing it, so she didn't know that was a Sonic Rainboom. But in "Call of the Cutie", Dash talked about how her first race landed her a cutie mark, making the first poll option obvious..
I was a bit intrigued how Dash's race connected to the lives of the other ponies in some shape or form.
I almost felt sorry that Pinkie started in a dull life. But she soon became the ever-lovin' hyper pony we all know and love. I mean, when she stared at that rainbow...
I laughed at AJ having a temporary accent almost like Rarity's, and Rarity having her horn drag her towards the giant rock. Also lamenting about the rock before she found the jewels inside.
Fluttershy was even cuter as a little filly, that's all. I didn't even think her cuteness factor would pass the limit.
And I liked the fact that Twilight didn't start out as Celestia's pupil right off the bat.
Overall, it was a good origins story.
"Celestia's school for Gifted unicorns"?
Twilight Sparkle, "This is absolutely Uncanny!"
And to top it off Twilight having a Jean Grey overload moment. Epic as all hell. I loved the fact that the Sonic Rainboom was the catalyst for all of their CMs appearing, really makes it seem like the band of six is tied together by destiny.
and I swear, Celestia had an "Exactly as planned" look there somewhere. I don`t think she's evil, but I do think she knows a lot more than she's letting on, preparing TS and the gang for something.
Because of this, and Fluttershy recognizing her ability to communicate with animals is something out of the ordinary, It seems that Pegasi also have a certain amount of magic too, although more subtle than unicorns.
I am the squid of the vapor surrounding your dreams, sorrow, nightmares, and bootie pants. So watch out about that.

What an amazing episode!
All their stories of how they got their cutie marks were great and it was funny how Dash's Sonic Rainboom caused all of them to happen.
It was interesting some of their backstories, especially Pinkie Pie's. Who would have expected she came from an Amish family? :anime:
It was also funny seeing Scootaloo's impatience hearing everyone but Dash's storries.![]()
