It's not like he has much of a choice, unless he wants Dan to add him to the list.
Considering what he can do with his credit card and his car, just imagine how much psychological warfare he could employ if he decided he didn't need Chris anymore.

In my opinion i believe Dan is his only friend and also think that Chris is just feeling the moment when he does something crazy with Dan, i mean we have seen his job is boring and he does like spending time with Elise yet he needs some trilling into his life and Dan's the only one who can offer it......if he only knew what Elise actually does for a living lol.

Chris himself is a pushover, he couldn't defriend Dan if he wanted. Chris doesn't really hate Dan anyway, he just thinks he goes a bit too far and could use some serious anger management.
If Dan abuses his credit card and takes advantage of Chris, he'll let him because he can't help but let people treat him like a doormat.
If Dan yells at him and insults him, he'll let him because he realizes that's just Dan being Dan.
He probably does have some fun with some of the revenge schemes, but he's pretty much the opposite of a thrill-seeker (Adrenaline building up is pretty new to Chris, since when it does it either results in him freezing up or getting worked up), so the schemes are a bit too hectic or over-the-top for him to WANT to be involved him. He just can't help but be involved in them, he can't say no.
All the characters in Dan Vs. are pretty much the yin to everyone's yang.
Dan needs a pushover to help him go along with his schemes and to prevent him from being lonely (Chris).
Chris needs someone with a backbone to help him up even when he's terrified (Elise).
And Elise probably needs someone more down-to-Earth to balance out her crazy, mysterious lifestyle (Chris).
Oh wait, gee, I over analyzed everything again.
(No, but seriously I do love this show and love the way they treat these characters. Three cheers for Dan Vs.!)
