I don't know what the delay with PP is, but The Hub is taking a similar delay with Dan Vs., which has gone on hiatus after only 5 episodes.
Does anybody happen to know why they are delaying episodes of Pound Puppies? I thought, at one time, it was the best animated program on The Hub. However, it began to alternate premieres with repeats and now there hasn’t been a new episode since December 24th. TV Guide isn’t listing any upcoming episodes, either. At this rate, the entire first season of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic will have aired by the time Pound Puppies comes back to the schedule. According to various LinkedIN profiles, there are at least nineteen episodes of Pound Puppies this season, yet only seven have aired. Is The Hub worried they aren’t going to have enough premieres for spring and/or summer, so they are holding Pound Puppies back for that? That’s the only thing that I can think of. It still seems unusual, however. Why bother premiering the series if you’re only going to air seven episodes and then go on hiatus?

Has anyone checked the ratings for Pound Puppies? Maybe the show is experiencing a drop in viewers. That might be a reason, part of it, or even not at all. But, I think, it is worth looking into. Just a suggestion.![]()

Fan of jrpgs, anime, and cartoons.
There still is no sign of Pound Puppies coming back with new episodes. They even kicked it off of its regular timeslot following My Little Pony because they had already re-run the seven episodes into the ground. I’m sure they’ll air eventually, but I wish I understood what was going on.

According to one of the animators for MLP, they're taking over animation for the show for next season from the original studio.
That's basically it.

After watching three of 'em, I can't say I really WANT Pound Puppies back.
At all.
To each their own. I still sort of like Pound Puppies more than My Little Pony. They're probably even in terms of quality, but My Little Pony got the endorsement of a certain community and took off. The only complaint that I have about Pound Puppies is that every episode involves an adoption, but that is sort of to be expected.

Probably for the best that they get new animators. I thought it looked pretty bad when it originally aired. MLP shows you what you can do with Flash if you have a great crew. Pound Puppies, not so much.
It's not like this is unprecedented in terms of shows. Titmouse seems have taken over animation for so many shows at Adult Swim. Probably some sort of cost-cutting measure to employ a single studio than have to deal with several for your products.
Yup. It's a signature. Go away if you're expecting something interesting here.
To futher confirm this, here's a link from Top Draw Animation mentioning the show and Studio B:
Name of the Project: Pound Puppies Details: 19 x 22 mins ...
Nothing to say.
Having head this, I am quite surprised. Of all the remakes the HUB had to offer, Pound Puppies and Strawberry Shortcake were the weakest to me. I think one of the biggest tiffs I had with PP was the fact that it looked so GENERIC. EVen though I do not like what has been done with SSC, at least that show has retained most of its own continuity and design. Even though the characters have gone through changes, their looks and their world DO have some things that were there in the original animated series and toys. Even MLP does this even though there are some different things in its own continuity as well.
Pound Puppies....just didn't do too well with this. In the end, its more generic because there really isn't anything remarkable about the characters or the designs. I also find it weird that the people in charge didn't stick with the original characters and just modernize them which would have been interesting to see. Most of the dogs in the pound look like rather bland Flash designs an the Cooler stand in seems rather flat in his personality at times.
I really don't know how far they're going to go with the supposed 'make-over' of the show but I am curious to see.

So, it looks like whoever was animating Pound Puppies for the first 7 episodes of season 1 was fired and the remaining 19 episodes went to Top Draw Animation, with a start date of January 2011 and planned completion in September. That answers that.
We already knew PP was renewed for a second season, but thanks to Cynopsis Kids we also know it’ll be another 26 episodes. So 52 total episodes for PP, MLP, Transformers Prime and Chuck & Friends.
Well, here's hoping they had time to do a total reworking from the ground up.
"Lackluster" and "Generic" are words I'd easily use to describe the series as a whole. Probably due to the fault of it being by the guys who made Recess. I don't expect a clone of My Little Pony, but I'd hope they get past the mind-numbing blandness of the current iteration of the series somehow.
