So The Hub will be showing its first PG-13 rated movie. I don't think this is such a good idea. PG was one thing, but PG-13 is another. It will likely have to be edited for content considerably (along with the usual time edits); down to PG-level at least.

I'm kind of hoping they don't show any other PG-13 movies. IMHO, it might mess up the whole "network for kids and families" thing...

I don't see The Hub airing a PG-13 rated movie as being a bad thing necessarily, provided that the channel only shows it after dark. The Hub can (and should) remain a squeaky clean kid/family friendly channel during the day, but I don't think that it would hurt The Hub to air somewhat more daring programming during their late night hours.

Now, I'm not suggesting that The Hub air Porky's or Family Guy or anything along those lines, because I wouldn't want to color The Hub's image by making it's programming too hard-edged, but I think that The Hub's PM schedule could stand to be a tad more ambitious than just being a modern day Nick @ Nite. Don't get me wrong; I don't think that the sitcom reruns should disappear from the channel entirely, but I do think that The Hub should be more of a variety of programming at night, like they do in the daytime. Instead of just airing a lineup of sitcom reruns (which if you ask me is pretty lazy and unimaginative), The Hub could air some programming that's more off the beaten path, such as SCTV, Red Dwarf, The Red Green Show, The Uncle Floyd Show, Mystery Science Theater 3000, etc. Heck, even the early Nick @ Nite used to show SCTV and The Best of Saturday Night, so why can't The Hub think outside of the box a little when it comes to it's nighttime lineup?

Hub's evening line-up doesn't consist entirely of sitcoms. They do have an action-packed show called Batman, two animated programs (Transformers and some other action-packed one that comes after Transformers), two dramas (Wonder Years and Doogie Howser, M.D.), and a science-fiction program called Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. In fact, there is more non-sitcom than sitcom in the evening schedule. That is more variety I see than in their daytime line-up.

And for your information, the Hub's evening block is not just another Nick-at-Nite or else they would be airing RECENT sitcoms NON-STOP.

Don't be a Mr.Nitpicky. Does The Hub air any sketch comedy shows such as SCTV or The Best of Saturday Night Live? Does The Hub show MST3K or Cheap Seats? Does The Hub show cartoons for big kids such as Looney Tunes, Duckman, Mission Hill or Sam & Max: Freelance Police? Does The Hub show "Brit Wit" such as Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Blackadder or My Hero? That to me would be a variety. What The Hub is doing at night now is OK, but they could be doing a lot more.

And I really don't get why you insist on treating originality like it's bad thing. Even the "classic" TV shows that you're so fond of now were all new and original at one time, so being anti-new and original just doesn't make any sense to me.
