    Your Name in Japanese

    Like This Thread!
Thought this was nifty; just type in your name and it'll tell you what it'd be in Japanese.

My name barely changes... it's Samu. Which means I'm one letter off from being a whale. How flattering. =/

I'm boring old "メーリーちゃん" (or "メーリーくん" to those of you older than me*). But I think it's neat to find the meaning of your name and translate that meaning into Japanese. For instance, the meaning of my name is "bittersweet" resulting in "hikikomogomo" (or "ひきこもごも") in Japanese! Awesome, ね :anime:

    I got this:

It's pronounced "masshuu", which strikes me as how a drunk guy with no teeth would pronounce it. That's quite cool, though...:anime::anime::anime:

Of course, if you want the shorter version of my name (ie, the one I usually use), then you get this:

It's pronounced "matto"...which seems a little boring to me. But hey ho.

Oh, that's hilarious. One time, I read a question that was, "How do you sing 'Happy Birthday' in Japanese?" The response being, "Sing the English version of 'Happy Birthday' but as if you've just returned from the dentist's after a root canal and after downing several beers."

I like it; it sounds cool. Of course, I think everything sounds cool when pronounced with a Japanese accent, but nonetheless, Matto is nifty.

Oh, and Kurt would be Kāto. I likes that.

Edit: If anyone wants to just check a list of names; here's a cool site for that.

Pronouced: ANDORYUU (actually I don't think that's right from what I recall of Japanese class. But it might be or it might at least be close).

It is pronounced "ASHURII". (Consonants are pronounced more or less the same way as in English. "A" sounds like a in father, but shorter. "I" sounds like ee in meet, but shorter. "U" sounds like oo in hook, but with less rounding of the lips. Double vowels like "II" are held for twice the duration of single vowels.)
Ah cool. I liked it. But my name still comes really close to my real one.Ashley.....Kinda sounds like "Ashley' when you hold your tounge out...
