I just noticed that the newsgroup links at the top of some forum pages are not there anymore. I rarely viewed them, but just thought I would mention it. I assume it is one of the changes going on for now.

Yeah, I had to get rid of those. They won't work with vB3 until the author of the newsgroup add-on rewrites the code. I hope he does cause I really liked that feature.
