Nah, not really.
To me this community had gotten boring very slowly in the past few years, not sure why??? also anyone else miss the people who were bannedall the interesting commentators are gone and the comments are fairly tame and boring, what's everyone else's thoughts??
Nah, not really.
And stay out of Riverdale!
I wouldn't say it has. It's still intelligent, civil, and friendly, to me, and that's what matters. A lot of the people I remember from the time I was a more frequent presence here have come and gone, but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing, it's just the way things are.
There's still interesting commentary around, although much of it recent ones has focused more on the industry rather than the shows, and the blogs usually have some analysis/commentary to whet your appetite.
As for the people that have disappeared, that's life. People come and go into your life, you just gotta roll with it and keep your door open for others to come in.
One thing I'm glad is gone was the constant negativity in Family Guy threads. It got old fast seeing so many people talking about how bad the show has gotten and how they'll never watch again, only to keep returning for more.
My stay here turns five years next month. Things are pretty good and have been for a while.
Ok, now i AM convinced that this community has indeed gone down, very down hill.
But apparently i (nor you in fact) can't discuss it![]()
Well first off, this community has nowhere near gone down honestly. The only sad impact on me here for the past few years is the farewell to the Toonami forum, but life moves on and we have the anime forum which is just as great. And if anything I've been thinking how the community has grown with such a big new member rate more than what we had in the past.
And why would you miss the people who got banned? They got banned for actual reasons and probably should of used their brain and followed the rules, but that's all I'm going into that since talking about ban people is not exactly allowed either.
I still love Toon Zone as much as I did when I first joined back in 2005 and it's thanks to the very wonderful community we still have here. =)

Nah, it hasn't.
I don't post nearly as often as I did years ago, but it's not for lack of discussion here.

I definitely do agree in that I also miss some of the banned toonzoners. You may be gone, but you're not forgotten.
I don't miss the banned. Their actions were not conducive to this kind of environment. When you've been on boards with lax moderation like I have, you appreciate order and civility.

POKEMON PUZZLE LEAGUE! You know you want to read my review.
I can't really think of people who were banned that I miss, but there are a few people who left on their own that I do miss. I looked forward to reading their posts because they always brought an interesting point of view to the discussion. They weren't afraid to speak what was on their mind, even if it was the opposite of what the majority believed, and I respected them for that.
One thing I have noticed is a jaded feeling from some members. A "I've seen it all before, nothing wows me anymore" impression. No longer can something be "fairly decent" or "pretty good", it has to be a groundbreaking masterpiece that boldly goes where nothing animated has gone before.

Welcome back Toonami. I hope Adult Swim treats you better than Cartoon Network did.
I've been here since November 2009, which compared to others isn't very long, but to go on a forum everyday like this, it is. This place is VERY active. Unlike other forums, I rarely find any problems or arguments, nor do I have a problem with anyone here (Unlike other forums that aren't moderated that much and allow arguments to occur). Sadly, I have not chatted with any members through PM or anything like that. Which is a shame really. So I shall release my inner "bro": Hit me up, yo.![]()
As I said before, if somebody gets banned they obviously got banned for a reason. I don't get generally upset but it makes me sad to see past friends on here actually go down to that level where they break the rules and get ban hammered. And it all depends on the forum may I say as well, those forums you may speak of just might have unfair rulings and that could lead to why people miss those ban people so much. Honestly I have been warned on here before and I can read why I got warned in the first place and try to correct myself for future references, this is actually one of the only places where the rules make sense in my opinion.
Oh I'm in love with Toon Zone what can I say.![]()
There's a thread in the Adult Swim forum about my name change. Yeah, I'd say the community has gone downhill when that's the most exciting thing to talk about. [/Self Deprecation]![]()
Izzy Mandelbaum: How 'bout that, huh? The WORLD'S greatest dad. My son made it for me.
Jerry: That's very nice.
Izzy Mandelbaum: The best in the world! Which means I'm better than just number one.
Jerry: Well, I don't know how official any of these rankings really are.
Eh, I miss a couple of people who got banned. They were good guys, they just had self-control issues and couldn't learn to let stuff go. Others, however, I'm glad they're gone because they just wanted to troll and be disruptive.
And stay out of Riverdale!
I don't think this community has gone down hill. I've only been here since March 2009 but even since then I don't think I've seen a change.
I sometimes take a look back at threads from years ago and compare them to what's going on now and I'd say there is more going on now then there was back in 2002 or 2003.

I wouldn't say so. I mean, I don't post very much, but this forum seems more active than most others.
Random quote (changes once in a while)
"I have sacrificed much to achieve peace. So too must a new generation sacrifice to maintain that peace. Responsibility! Duty! Honour! These are not mere virtues to which we must aspire! They are essential to every soldier, to every king!"
- Odin, Thor
I do think the community has gone down but in some very specific areas.
There's still great discussions here, there's still great posters and there's still great information to read.
The big problem I see the frequency of topics that really get people interacting has gone hill greatly since the Toonami (The X Bridge) has closed shop. Ever since then, the frequency of really good theads is at a low.
When there is a very good thread, the activity in the forums very notable jump for a time and the discussions become really good for a while. Its especially nice when that main thread spawns a few other really good ones; usually related.
I tend to think the various series successes seems to be very connected to how many good discussions get started and continue. Sadly, there just hasn't nearly as many good moments in recent animation history that is driving good conversations here.
