Y'know, I don't think we say it enough around here, but I just want to say THANK YOU to all of the Toonzone members & affiliates. They supply us with this great service, and all sortsa goodies, & I just don't think we say it enough. And with all of these new "smilies", it just reminds me, they're still working to make this place an up-to-date fun place.

I agree! Let's not take this place for granted! Brian and Harley work very hard behind the scenes to keep this place going. It's quite a labor of love. My hats off to everybody who makes Toon Zone great!

But in case they dont... If you want comedy go read a message board on Yahoo and see how quickly conversation deteriorates into name calling and whatnot. But here, we've got a community of our own! Thanks everyone! We love you all!

Even on the newsgroups I go to about DVD and animation (actually, I haven't visited them in quite some time...) there is this bile and hatred that is so freely thrown at newbies and even other members. Flame wars go on and on endlessly, peoples suggestions are ridiculed and put up for public mocking. I think out of all the conversations on those "other" boards, like at yahoo and in the newsgroups, about 20% of it is anything worthwhile, and you need to only read the first two or three replies, because anything beyond that is some troll trying to stir people up.

Yeah, Toon Zone rocks. These are the best message boards on the net!

It has everything to do with anarchy. In all of the "wacky" boards I've seen, there's either no mod or the mod's dont care, so everything deteriorates. But in the few message boads that I've seen that are civil, its because the mods enforce the rules, which puts everyone into a game of reciprocity. No one wants to be the jerk. I think just the fact that a message board can be trouble free is evidence that the crew is doing a great job and the users are thankful.

It's not easy, either. I've had alot of run-ins with trouble makers on the previous versions of these boards. If anyone has been with WF since the insidethewebdotcom days and the boardhostdotcom days probably remembers the hell we went through with some troublemakers. It is hard, but the reward is great. To see civilized conversations and not see them deteriorate into name calling and flaming is great. It think these are some of the most sane boards online, mostly due to the excellent mod crew I have here at the WF Boards, as well as the other boards here.

I agree, I think all the Toon Zone moderators really care about this board and its members, and that makes all the difference.

I've been a lot of other places that aren't moderated and get out of control. But here, everyone's pretty much civil with each other, which is great! Between the good attitudes everyone's got and all the great news and conversations that go on, this is probably the top news and forum site around. Keep it up, guys!!!
