THE INCREDIBLES: Nothing new here, but I'm excited, regardless.

SPIDER-MAN 2: Nice pic, nothing snazzy, though - but I'm still very much looking forward to this film.

CATWOMAN: Nice adult photo shoot there - though the "mask" (or "helmet") still looks retardedly huge. Nothing can get me "excited" about this movie unless they scrap it. I'm just so happy at least the Batman movie is going along swimmingly.

Was looking at those pics at work with a couple coworkers when the mag came in... in regards to the Catwoman pic... we all agreed it looked like crap... but we also agreed that the face underneath the mask really does not resemble Halle Berry's...

But I can't wait to see Spiderman... and Harry Potter! (didn't get a chance to read the complete blurbs on either, I'll get that next week when I get the magazine)

    Don't you people understand!?!

That spiderman pic looks cool. As for the Catwoman pic... I'm not sure if I should be pissed off or turned on.

    Catwoman:
The word "travesty" comes to mind. Among with a score of swear words and questions of faith...aside from that...Looks like I won't be seeing this. I've been a fan of more guy geared genres for a long time. I've learned to tolerate fanservice, but not that much.

    Spiderman:
Lookin good, can't wait to see it.

    That Pixar thing:
Eh. I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't grovel before pixar. I think they're movies are formulaic and have little substance. I don't mean I hate them. On the contrary, I find them funny and very well done...it's just...you know, I guess I get tired of comedy every now and then. I know they have to do it or they make no money, but I would like to see something with a little drama or realism. Just for something new. Whenever I see modern animated features I find myself looking back towards the lion king, aladdin, the little mermaid and other disney greats. Sure they all had their comic relief, but they had some seriously dramatic moments too. Oh well, guess it will be a long time before i ever see something that good again. C'est la vie.

Having seen Pitoff's Vidocq (you know... being French and all ), I fear the Catwoman movie might be even crappier than it now seems to be...

As usual with Pixar The Incredibles looks like the kind of animation I like!

    Sorry boys, cash only.

I'll admit, the gloves are cool. Doesn't mean I condone the actions of WB, the story as a whole, or the casting of Halle Berry.

As for Spiderman, looks pretty slick. How ever will he get out of that one?

    Didn't check out The Incredibles.

I don't grovel before Pixar either, but I still do consider them a solid choice for quality entertainment. How you can say they don't have drama in them though, I don't know - they're not nearly as heavy as THE LION KING was, let's say, but the very root of movies like MONSTERS INC and FINDING NEMO were the emotions of love towards someone who was lost (Boo and Nemo, respectively). The TOY STORY movies had some great stuff in them, as well.

I can see why you'd think so, though - Pixar seems to always jump from one strange, out-there topic to another, trying to come up with a fun-laden, creative storyline with colourful and likeable characters. Each time thus far, it's worked. A movie about toys, about bugs, another movie about toys, about a world of monsters, about fish, about superheroes, about cars...

You're right though, I'd like to see them try one family movie in the classic Disney movie genre, that was fully entertaining but didn't throw in sight-gags, pop-culture references, and inside jokes all the time. Pixar does that superbly, don't get me wrong, but I'd like to see them try another successful formula. Look at SNOW WHITE or PINNOCHIO or DUMBO or any of the really early Disney movies; they weren't that funny at all, but they were great adventure stories that worked terrifically. In the early 90's, when Disney was in its most recent golden era, the only humour found in its movies were contained to a few comic sidekicks - Sebastian, Abu, Iago, Genie, Timon, Pumbaa, Zazu, Lumiere, Cogsworth, etc - the rest of the movie, though often colourful, had a deep, moving storyline, often with very dark undertones.

I think Pixar could make a great movie in the classic Disney mold - whether it's while they're partnered with Disney or not is another story.

PS - Those Catwoman pictures are still horrible, even with ten beer in me.

Dear Lord! They really are trashing the good name of a beloved character that has been around for over 60 years. Nice. Oh well, whatever doubts I may have had about whether or not I'd be seeing this movie are now gone. Catwoman(if you could call it that) is definitely a movie I will NOT be seeing. Especially when in the article they announce to the world that it has absolutely nothing to do with Selina Kyle, Gotham City, Batman, etc...it's only about Patience Phillips. God,what were they thinking. Here's hoping it sinks faster than the Titanic.

Is that Selena Kyle, or a different Catwoman?

Oh, and I am SO planning to see The Incredibles. Pixar movies are the best!
