Maverick (1994) - costarred with Mel Gidson and Jodie Foster
Frida (2002) - costarred with Salma Hayak
I've been wanting to ask this for a while, and figured now would be a good time considering the Spider-Man thread on the board.![]()
Based on reading the list of movies and plays that he's done in the past, it appears that Alfred Molina is a good choice to play Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man 2. I'm not familiar with Molina, and would like to watch some of the movies he's been in. I picked up a copy of Chocolat, but I haven't watched it yet.
Does anyone have recommendations?

Raiders of the Lost Ark. Seriously the guy is English and the fact he could play a south american that well is pretty amazing.
"Good cop and Bad cop left for the day. I'm a different kind of cop." - Vic Mackey
Species. Got it on with a good looking chick and then died.Based on his looks and his acting ability, he's a great choice. Can't wait to see him this summer.
The Clown Prince
"All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." -Gandalf in 'The Fellowship of the Ring'
Identity is supposed to be pretty good too, though haven't seen it yet.
Boogie Nights.
He only has one scene but it's memorable.
And you'll never look at "Sister Christian" the same way.
Howdy,
He doesn't have very large parts in either movie, but the film version of Maverick and a small indie film called The Impostors are both tons of fun and show more of Molina's versatility. The Impostors seems to generate love-hate reactions from people, but it's $10 at my local Best Buy, so you won't be out too much money if you really hate it.

He's in a ton of movies that are fun to watch; Raiders, Maverick, Cabin Boy... but as to movies he stars in? I'm afraid I haven't really seen any. He has a small part in 'Dead Man' which is a great movie worth watching if you haven't seen it. If you wanna see him star, my suggestions would be Chocolate, Identity or Frida, none of which have I seen. I own the last two and still haven't watched them yet! I'm so bad about that. I've also never seen Magnolia, and I've heard mixed reviews, so I can't either recommend it or tell you how big his role in it is.

Saturday is the best day of the week. No demands at all! Perfect freedom! The whole day stretches before us with unlimited opportunity! And what better way to appreciate that opportunity than by squandering it watching cartoons all day! --- Calvin

I watched Chocolat yesterday afternoon, and it was really good. It had its flaws (IMO, the Comte de Reynaud was not as fleshed out as he should have been), but overall it was enjoyable. I must have had Marvel on the brain, though - the voice of Pere Henri (the priest played by Hugh O'Conor) reminded me a little bit of Nightcrawler!![]()
I don't remember which character he plays in that movie - I wasn't familiar with the name at the time of viewing - but that's an excellent movie so you oughta check that one out, too.Originally Posted by Zombies8MDingo
