Buffy/Angel (spoiler if you haven't seen the finales yet)

    Like This Thread!
Well even though I had read extensive spoilers about this episode, I was still surprised to see what happened. For this one it wasn't whether or not to believe the spoilers, it was which spoilers to believe. There were plenty of them to choose from.

Buffy- willing to sacrifice the universe(s) in order to protect her sister. I think that would be carrying it to far, even if she felt that Dawn really was her sis. I mean like Giles pointed out, Dawn would suffer also.

Willow- When are you going to realize you're a badass?

Xander and Anya-getting married. My wife thought that was really sweet. Also, the part about the Buffy-bot where Xander said Willow didn't like Buffy that way, was hilarious.

Spike- Cried. Wow. It will be interesting to see what becomes of his conscience with Buffy gone. (or is she?)

Spike and Buffy- It was never revealed what they went back to Buffy's house for. The Hammer was at the magic shop and the orb thing was in Xanders Basement.

The series- moving to UPN. I'm glad it's sticking around in shape or another, but I'd rather see it go than start sucking. They've bought 2 years worth.

Chances that the move to UPN will affect the series negatively- 1 in 4. Just my guess. I'm trying to be optimistic, I just don't see how it could be for the better.

Buffy- She shall return. I don't know how, but Joss Whedon said so himself over at the official BTVS posting board.

Angel finale- Had some pretty funny parts.

Krevlornswath of the Deathwok clan- I just like saying his name. But also, his head was reunited with his body. I wonder what criteria Joss uses to decide who stays dead? It was permanent for Jenny Calendar, Doyle and others. Permanent for Joyce Summers after one relapse into life. but only temporary for Buffy, the Doc, Krevlornswath of the Deathwok clan(try saying it, it's fun).

Cordelia- Hot! Hate to see her going back to the land of a fully covered body!

Wesley- Seemed to mature quite a bit this episode, but he's done so before, just to return to his spastic self. At least he's not a rogue demon hunter anymore.

Willow- Darn I thought I was going to get through this without shedding a tear. Seeing her there and the look on Angels face was ten times worse than when we actually realized Buffy was dead.

    Spoilers

I missed most of the ANGEL finale, so I missed that Angel/Willow part, and now I wish I watch the whole thing. I guess I can catch it in reruns. Anyways, I think Buffy will be rewarded her life back. Since the episode aired, the phrase "My gift is death, my reward is life" just kept playing in my head. Sure, we only got the "My gift is death" part, but I think the higher ups will reward her life. I think when we enter the next season we'll see Giles gone (for his BBC spin off), Xander and Anya back from their honeymoon, and Dawn, Willow, and Tara living togethor. Of course, Giles is back for next season, but I'm not sure if it's all of it.

I was also still suprised by the events of the episode even though I read the spoilers at AICN. I was suprised to see Spike so heartbroken and crying. That right there was actually pretty touching. I really enjoyed the episode. The action was good and it moved at a great pace. My only problem was Giles killing Glory/Ben, something I thought was really out of character. But I'm only an occasional viewer so maybe it was perfectly in character.

And those are my 2 cents.

Maybe so. I'm kinda concerned about this. I mean they've killed her off before and brought her back. and from that we've got two slayers running around. Now are we gonna have a third? I just hate to see them use the same plot element again. At this point, they either have to do that or keep her dead IMO.

Dawn, Willow, and Tara living togethor.
Sounds tantalizing, wonder if they need a fourth roommate?

This info. has got to be out there somewhere. I'm gonna try to find out.

Well, in his younger days he was known as The Ripper. Though I'm not sure what that's all about. But I can see him doing it, as heartless as the Watchers council is, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of there rules that if you have too, sacrifice the needs of the few for the needs of many(thanks to Spock for that one).

Speaking of that, since you read the spoilers, surely you noticed when Tara pointed at Giles and called him a killer.

    You heard it here first!

This is the official word from the Jossman himself.

Somewhat more coherent now. Just want to say again, finally, definitively, and in LIVING color that BUFFY WILL BE BACK NEXT SEASON STARRING Sarah Michelle GELLAR (of television's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer")on UPN, TUESDAYS at 8:00.

How will we bring her back? With great difficulty, of course. And pain and confusion. Will it be cheezy? I don't think so. (I've loved some of the theories here on how it might be done.) The fact is, we've had most of next season planned before we ever shot this ep. Same writers you know, same actors you love, same crappy little warehouse we've been shooting in for five years... Different network. But we've never been controlled by the network -- WB was great about that, UPN has already shown they will be too. The only difference is that Marti will share exec prod credit with me, and it's about time she did. I'm in charge.

Okay, that's a lie. The STORY is in charge, the story that keeps on speaking to me, that says there is much more to tell about all these characters. An ensemble this brilliant could easily carry the show even without the Slayer -- but the fact is, even though she reached some beauty closure, Buffy's story isn't over. When it is, I'll know. And we'll stop. Til then, have faith. (not faith the character -- she's making movies and stuff.)

I just read a Whedon interview at comingsoon.net where he says "Buffy is rotting in her grave right now". Man...how are they gonna do this...

    Thanks for the heads up!

I hadn't seen that article yet. Did you follow the link to TV guide online? The next story after the Whedon interview was about Smallville.

    KILLERCROC:
Willow- -When are you going to realize you're a badass?
The thing is, she fully realizes she has the potential for darkness, but bitterly denies it. "I am not a gun. I don't think of myself as a gun," she tells Buffy. I noticed that her eyes didn't go oily black during the finale even when she shoved her fingers in Glory's skull...which means she isn't as fully embracing the dark magic as before. She's a gentle soul above all else--if Willow had her way, she and Tara would give up the slayer lifestyle to spend the rest of their days together making daisy chains and thinking up cat names.

I mentioned Giles' killing Ben in another thread. As I said, I was chilled by it. I thought that somehow Glory would be exiled to some backwater dimension and Ben could be allowed to live a normal life--maybe he'd be crippled or something, but to get rid of the she-devil and regain full control of his head I think he'd gladly give up the use of his legs. Maybe Giles killed vampires (or even people) in his youth, but I got the impression that he'd given that up long ago. I guess like vampires, old habits never die.

Whedon says Buffy is "rotting in her grave". Lovely thought. Now to me seeing that headstone lent it finality. Suppose the Scoobies had kept the body someplace instead of burying it...and asked Angel to come give her the blood of life? Or since Spike is there, and presumably he can give life to the dead if not hurt the living, let him prove his affection for Buffy. There's a moral quandry. The slayer a vampire herself? There is a slayer character in the comics who is half vamp on his mother's side, so it's not completely unheard of...but still, would Angel do anything for love? Or Spike?

I still think it might be interesting to see Dawn assume her sister's duties, guided by Buffy's ghost (if they're nixing Giles, the new slayer will need a guide, and who better?)

I've been thinking about that. Let me preface this by saying that IMO there is a parallel between Ben and Dawn. Of course, they're both just vessels for an otherworldy force. But also they're innocents in this. Dawn was create to contain the key, so to speak, and Ben was created to contain Glory. I guess Ben was less innocent because he ended up siding with Glory against Dawn. But he was still an innocent in that, he didn't have a choice but to have some evil hell god inside him.

One of the innocents had to die. For the good of the world it had to be Ben. I don't know if they had him die because he finally sided with Glory, or just because they wanted to show that sometimes innocents get hurt just because they're in the way, or a means to an end. Just that the world doesn't really care what's fair.

Re: Buffy/Angel (spoiler if you haven't seen the finales yet)

Two amazingly deep finales. Angel did great, and I think everything that happened was very well in character. Yeah I like goofy Giles better, but I think his brute mental strength that came over him when he needed it (in Lorne's world) has something to do with his conversation with his parents. He's strong, but his parents don't seem to treat him that way unfortunately.

Angel will come out of this much stronger, having found the center ballance for his good and evil sides. And boy is he going to need it when he sees who came to visit their hotel/home base.

Seeing Willow and Angel's faces at the end of Angel was worse than seeing Buffy die (despite the fact that part did it as well). But it really truly hit me hard when I saw Spike cry. That was amazing. It also happened when I saw Buffy's tomb. One small reason it felt really weird was that Buffy's character is exactly my age. I dunno, I can't explain it. Unbelieveably excellent job Jossman. And that excerpt makes me feel much much better about his move to UPN. Don't forget who you're talking about here, wingy!

She is a sweet little girl, alright. That's what makes her so freakin cute. And she is becoming a badass, which one would assume a character like her would reject. She does reject it, but only the evil part. She just has to realize she has to find her center of ballance, then the good will win out. That realization is practically identical to what Angel has to already do. Maybe he could give her some lessons. Joss! I mean, Mr. Whedon! I smell a story arc! The inner conflict of good and evil! It's a topic I'm fluent in analyzing if you're interested! lol
